    A half-covered ghost sign for an unidentifled stout. The lettering is very similar to a sign that used to be on the corner of Devana Road and Halsbury Street, and may be for 'Holes' stout but this is not certain

    Ghost sign for a chimney and stove dealer. This ghost sign has two layers, and the top left-hand corner is severely deteriorated. The only visible words are 'Stoves' written twice, 'Chimneys' and 'Kitchen Ranges'. The second layer appears to be the same sign design but repainted in black

    Ghost sign for O'Neill's pub, reading 'Purveyors of Whiskey. Stout & Craft Ales'. O'Neill's, an 'Irish' style pub chain, was founded in 1994 by Bass & Co. in Aberdeen, and they opened this sight in Leicester in 1995. The company transferred over to Mitchells & Butlers. The Leicester location is still functioning today

Putt & Sons Ltd. moved to the site featured in the photo in 1928, operating for more than 100 years before closing the business in 2017

    Ghost sign reading: 'The Empire Cinema'. Opened in 1914, the Empire Picture House seated a 1,000 person capacity, serving tea and biscuits to patrons for free. In 1935, the auditorium expanded and in 1936, the old auditorium became the New Empire Cinema, seating 1,663. This included a new Art Deco style designed by architect Archibald Hurley Robinson, a Palm Court Ballroom and a restaurant. In 1953, the owner, Charles Deeming, sold the New Empire to the Essoldo chain which renamed the cinema to Essolodo before being taken over by Classic Cinemas Ltd. in 1966. The name changed several times between 1966 and 1974 first to the Curzon then to the Classic and then back to the Curzon. In 2011, the cinema was taken over by Odeon Theatres who changed the name to the Odeon and who still run the theatre today

    Ghost sign, for Leicester, Brewing & Malt (LBM), although only an 'L' can be seen. There is a photo of this building c.1946 on the Pub History Project website, when it was 'The Rifhe Volunteer' pub. The photo clearly shows the LBM sign. The pub dates from the 1870s and was run by Thomas Tillson in 1908, and then by Richard Turner in 1916 and, in 1928, by Percy Turner. The pub closed c.1954. LBM was registered in 1890 to merge Bates, Son and Mitchell, who brewed at the Eagle Brewery, and the malting firm of Needham & Crick. The brewery supplied about 150 pubs and clubs. In 1952, the LBM was acquired by Ansells who closed the brewery but continued to bottle LBM until the 1960s
