    No full text
Writing remains a persistent challenge for freshmen in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) context, particularly in generating ideas, applying grammar accurately, and producing coherent texts. This study employs a case study method to investigate students’ perceptions of an e-Multimodality Workbook that integrates visual stimuli within a Task-Based Learning (TBL) framework to enhance writing proficiency in a Basic Writing class. Data were gathered from twelve purposively selected students through semi-structured interviews and analyzed using the CIPP (Context, Input, Process, Product) evaluation model. The findings show that colored visual prompts effectively enhance imagination, idea development, and comprehension of abstract concepts, whereas black-and-white images and insufficient grammatical guidance hinder clarity and engagement. A pedagogical framework was used in designing the e-Multimodality Workbook, which serves as a learning aid and a medium that facilitates assessment. A linguistic expression in term of visual meaning proses was used in this book. A technology-based adaptive learning materials that integrate multimodal tasks and student feedback is a product of this research. This supports the development of writing competencies at a higher level. Furthermore, the findings suggest that this book can enhance learner autonomy across various levels of EFL proficiency.Keyword: English Writing, Multimodality, Task-based Approach

Abstract : Law Enforcement on Violence Against Women in Public and Domestic Spheres in Manado City. This article analyzes the role and challenges of law enforcement in handling cases of violence against women in public and domestic spheres in Manado City. The study employs a descriptive qualitative method, using primary data obtained through interviews with law enforcement officers and the community, particularly women, as well as secondary data from literature, journals, documents, and applicable legal regulations. One of the main challenges in law enforcement is the understanding of legal regulations by officers, which often becomes an obstacle due to unclear norms, leading to interpretations that disadvantage women. Additionally, actions by officers that contradict legal provisions frequently cause issues in the enforcement process. The lack of socialization regarding legal culture has also made it difficult for the community, especially women as victims, to seek justice. Feelings of shame and reluctance to provide clear statements, along with insufficient material and formal evidence, further delay case resolutions. This article highlights the importance of legal protection for women through legal aid organizations (LBH), the police, and other relevant institutions. Law enforcement officers must prioritize individual rights regardless of the identity of the complainant and resolve cases fairly without personal interests. These efforts are essential to achieving objective justice and protecting women's rights in Manado City. Kata kunci: Penegakan Hukum, Kekerasan di Ranah Publik dan Domestic, Kota Manad

Developing Inclusive Regulations for Muslim Disabled Entrepreneurs' Access to Sharia Fintech: Legal and Accessibility Perspectives

In Indonesia, Muslim persons with disabilities (PwDs) face significant barriers in accessing financial services, including Sharia-based fintech platforms. This study aims to develop inclusive regulatory strategies to enhance their access to Sharia-compliant fintech funding. Employing a normative legal approach and conceptual analysis based on maqashid sharia, the research highlights the lack of integration between digital accessibility standards such as the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and current Sharia fintech regulations. The findings propose a five-part inclusive strategy grounded in the principles of justice (al-‘adālah), facilitation (al-taysīr), and the removal of hardship (raf' al-ḥaraj): identifying accessibility needs, designing adaptive regulations, enhancing human resource capacity, integrating cross-sectoral policies, and establishing participatory monitoring and enforcement. This framework not only empowers Muslim disabled entrepreneurs within Indonesia but also holds global significance, especially for Muslim minority communities in non-Muslim countries such as China. Indonesia’s experience demonstrates that inclusive Sharia fintech regulations can be framed within universal legal and ethical values, making them adaptable to diverse socio-legal contexts. This study contributes to building a more inclusive and equitable Islamic financial ecosystem that promotes dignity, empowerment, and access for all, particularly those who are socially and economically marginalized

Does Religiosity Influence the Relationship Between Sharia Governance and Member Loyalty in Islamic Cooperatives?

Sharia cooperatives play a pivotal role in advancing Islamic economic development by offering financial services aligned with Islamic principles. Nonetheless, sustaining member loyalty remains a significant challenge. This study investigates the impact of Sharia governance on member loyalty within Sharia cooperatives in Banda Aceh City and examines the moderating role of religiosity in this relationship. Employing an explanatory research design, primary data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 200 purposively selected respondents. The data were analyzed using moderated regression analysis to test the proposed hypotheses. The findings reveal that Sharia governance exerts a positive and significant influence on member loyalty. However, religiosity was found to weaken this relationship, indicating that members with higher levels of religiosity tend to rely more on personal beliefs than institutional governance when forming loyalty. These results suggest that member engagement strategies should not only focus on structural and governance compliance but also incorporate the diverse religious values held by cooperative members. The study offers practical implications for enhancing loyalty in faith-based financial institutions. Limitations include the cross-sectional nature of the data and its geographic restriction to a single region, which may affect the generalizability of the results. Future research is encouraged to include broader contexts and longitudinal data

How Does the State Regulate the Administration of Unregistered Marriages in Muslim Minority Communities? The Practice of Mass Weddings in Jayapura City

This study aims to analyze how the state regulates the administration of unregistered marriages (nikah sirri) in Muslim minority communities in Jayapura City, with a focus on the practice of mass weddings organized to facilitate the registration of marriages. Unregistered marriages, which are not recorded by the state, are still found among Muslim minorities in Jayapura. Factors influencing the practice of unregistered marriages include economic limitations, lack of awareness about administrative procedures, and difficulty in accessing official marriage registration services. To address these issues, the Jayapura City government, through the Religious Affairs Office (KUA), the Religious Court (PA), and the Directorate General of Population and Civil Registration (DUKCAPIL), has initiated a mass wedding program aimed at simplifying the legalization process for couples who have not yet registered their marriages. This research uses a qualitative approach with interviews and observations of couples participating in the mass wedding program. The findings indicate that this program is effective in raising public awareness about the importance of marriage registration. However, challenges remain in terms of legal understanding and the readiness of couples to comply with the applicable administrative procedures. The study suggests the need for increased education about the importance of marriage administration and strengthening access to marriage registration services to reduce the practice of unregistered marriages. With the mass wedding program, it is hoped that all marriages in Jayapura City can be legally registered according to state law, providing optimal legal protection for married couple

Adjustments, such as the use of moderate adhan volume and distribution of zakat to all levels of society regardless of religion, serve as tangible evidence of this adaptation. This research contributes to the development of Fiqh Nusantara, demonstrating the flexibility of Islamic law that can align with local culture while supporting social inclusion. Practically, these results provide insights for policymakers to design policies that support religious harmony in multicultural regions. This research affirms that Islamic law not only maintains its essential teachings but can also become an integral part of pluralistic society. The implications of this research open opportunities for further studies on the harmonization of Islamic law in other minority communities
