Project-Based Learning-Oriented Worksheet Based on Local Wisdom and Green Chemistry
This study aims to determine the feasibility of worksheets and the science process skills of students using worksheets based on local wisdom-oriented projects in Central Java, with insights from green chemistry. The research follows the Research and Development (R&D) methodology, specifically the modified 4D development procedure, which includes define, design, and develop stages. The study was conducted at UIN Walisongo Semarang with 60 chemistry education students participating. Expert validation results indicated that the worksheet, based on local wisdom-oriented projects with green chemistry insight, was feasible, achieving a validity percentage of 86.53%, categorized as very valid. Observations of students’ science process skills using project worksheets 1, 2, and 3 yielded an average score of 78.6%. Pretest and post-test data on students' science process skills showed scores of 29.8 and 70.5 for the experimental class, and 29.64 and 54.46 for the control class, respectively. The average n-gain score for the experimental class was calculated to be 58%, indicating it falls within the moderately effective category. In conclusion, the worksheet, which leverages the local wisdom of Central Java and incorporates green chemistry principles into the study of acid-base material, is feasible and can be effectively used as a learning resource for students
Study of the Ethnoscience Learning Approach About the Keris Yogyakarta for Chemistry Learning in High School
This research aims to determine chemistry teachers' perceptions of ethnoscience-based learning approaches and the characteristics of the Keris Yogyakarta, as well as to examine its potential for high school chemistry education. This qualitative study involves ten high school chemistry teachers in Yogyakarta. Data collection techniques included questionnaires, interviews, and analysis of the high school chemistry curriculum. The research instruments used were survey sheets and interview guidelines. The data were analyzed using qualitative methods of Miles and Huberman. The results show that chemistry teachers have a positive perception of the ethnoscience approach. The Keris can serve as a thematic element to introduce Yogyakarta culture in chemistry learning. Relevant chemical topics include elemental chemistry and redox reactions. The chemical elements or compounds involved in making the Keris include iron, steel, nickel, arsenic, citric acid, and ascorbic acid. Ethnoscience learning about the Keris provides students with knowledge about applying chemical concepts in its manufacture, integrating local knowledge and culture, and helping students understand chemical concepts more easily and engagingly. Additionally, ethnoscience learning about the Keris can increase students' appreciation and concern for Indonesia's cultural heritage
Ethical values of public accountant: a critical perspective of rational-religious of Hamka
Purpose - This study explores business practices in public accounting firms, particularly in East Java, along with ethical issues raised by the practices.Method - This study applied a qualitative approach in which data were collected through in-depth interviews with 12 public accountants from various public accounting firms. Then, the data were analysed based on a rational-religious perspective as suggested by Buya Hamka.Result - The findings of this study indicated many ethical concerns in public accountant practices, despite they comprehend about ethical standards contained in the professional code of ethics. All those problems were actuated by the financial fulfillment of the public accountant, which deviated from ethical values as signified by Hamka.Implication - Public accountants should implement Hamka’s virtues in professional practices as a reflection of Islamic principles.Originality - This research is the first study that used the virtues of Buya Hamka in public accountant practices
Exploring Female Hadith Transmitters: A Gender Perspective as a Modern Women’s History Lesson through Intelligent Ṣaḥabiyyāt
Islam encourages women to achieve the highest intellectual and spiritual abilities and does not prioritize men over women. The early generation of Islam, known as the Ṣaḥabiyyah (companions of the Prophet), played a significant role in narrating hadith from the first to the next generation. This study explores the role of the Ṣaḥabiyyāt (female companions of the Prophet) in narrating the greatest source of Islam, especially the hadith. The study uses a qualitative method, collecting data and inventorying female narrators from Jawāmi’ul Kālim software. The results show that over 160 female narrators from the time of the the Ṣaḥabat or Tābi’in played an active role in the transmission of hadith to the next generation. The intelligence of the Ṣaḥabiyyat not only became teachers but also of prominent male companions. The study can motivate females to be at the forefront of education and scientific transformation without fear of gender differentiation
The Law of Taking Talak Outside The Court in The Perspective of Maqashid Al-Syariah
Research problems: What is the maqashid al-syariah perspective regarding someone who gives divorce outside the court? Research purposes: knowing the losses (mafsadat) due to divorce outside of court from the perspective of maqashid al-syariah. Research methods; using normative legal research (library research). Research results show that Divorce outside a court session is not permitted from a maqashid al-syariah perspective, even though it is permitted according to the Qur'an and hadith. Still, both imply indirectly that Islam allows divorce but, on the other hand, hopes that divorce will not occur. Divorce outside of court can disturb children's mental health. Children who were originally in a harmonious and loving family are suddenly in a family environment that is the opposite; their children are also feared to be vulnerable to falling into the company of alcohol and illegal drugs; the status of children is unclear according to the lawn causing the court to have no legal power to force the ex-husband to provide maintenance to the ex-wife during the iddah period; shelter, clothing, food and to their children too
Human Resources Aspects in Mosque Financial Management in Jogokariyan Mosque and Al-Ikhlash Jatipadang Mosque
Indonesia has the largest Muslim population in the world and is a generous country in the world in donating money through mosques. From here, mosque administrators/takmirs need to build, maintain, and increase the trust given by the congregation to the mosque, especially in improving services and increasing access to the impact of donations given by the congregation. In this case, human resources are the highest asset in mosque management. This research aims to make human and financial resource management more transparent and accountable and able to have a big impact on society. This research method is descriptive qualitative with the analytical tool used, namely ANP (Analytic Network Process) with a total of 7 respondents; the research objects are the Jogokariyan Mosque, Yogyakarta, and the Al-Ilhlash Mosque, Jatipadang, Jakarta. The data collection results show that human resources in the two mosques have high problems. The results of the analytical synthesis of the network process of internal problems, problems, and solutions for human resources and management. In the internal problems cluster, the integrity aspect was chosen as a priority issue in managing mosque finances with a score of (0.331), followed by the accountability aspect with a score of (0.240), and the human resources aspect (0.215)
STRATEGI GURU DALAM MENGATASI KEJENUHAN BELAJAR SISWA PADA MATA PELAJARAN PENDIDIKAN AGAMA ISLAM DI SMP AL-MUNAWWIR SANGATTA SELATAN
Pendidikan merupakan hal yang sangat penting untuk diperhatikan. Untuk memajukan bangsa dan negara, diperlukan sistem pendidikan yang berkualitas. Salah satu unsur terpenting untuk meningkatkan mutu pendidikan adalah pengamatan terhadap proses pembelajaran di sekolah, khususnya di kelas, rumusan dalam mengatasi permasalahan 1).Bagaimana proses pembelajaran siswa pada mata pelajaran PAI di SMP Al-Munawwir? , 2). Bagaimana strategi guru dalam mengatasi kejenuhan belajar di SMP Al-Munawwir?, 3). Bagaimana problem dalam mengatasi kejenuhan pada mata pelajaran PAI di SMP Al-Munawwir?. Pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi dan wawancara. Teknik analisis data menggunakan pendapat Miles dan Huberman yang meliputi kondensasi data, tampilan data, menggambar dan memverifikasi kesimpulan. Hasilnya adalah: 1). pembelajaran PAI sangat memiliki peran besar dalam membentuk nilai religious para santri dan santriwati di SMP Al-Munawir Sangatta Selatan, 2). seorang guru mengembangkan kreatifitasnya dalam mempersiapkan konsep strategi pembelajaran, kemudian guru harus memperhatikan kondisi dan suasana tempat belajarnya, jika didalam kelas membuat siswa bosan atau jenuh guru bisa mengalihkan pembelajaran dengan belajar di luar kelas, ataupun guru bisa mengubah konsep dan metode didalam pembelajaran tersebut. Manfaat strategi tersebut bisa membantu untuk mengatasi keadaan siswa yang bosan dalam pembelajaran. 3). problem atau masalah terberat atau kendala yang paling sering dijumpai dalam proses pembelajaran adalah merasa jenuh, bosan, dan ngantuk dengan materi yang disampaikan guru yang berakibat pada kejenuhan dan juga ngantuk serta motivasi belajar siswa yang kurang sehingga malas untuk belajar dengan serius dan malas mendengarkan guru saat pembelajara
Development of Learning Media Using Ethnomathematics-Based Augmented Reality on Cube and Block Material
The use of technology in Indonesian education is still quite far behind. Therefore, researchers conducted research aimed at developing android-based learning media using ethnomathematics-based Augmented Reality on cube and block material that is suitable for use and knowing student learning outcomes. This type of research is Research and Development using the ADDIE development model which includes 5 steps, namely Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. Research instruments in the form of media validation questionnaires, material validation questionnaires, and learning outcomes tests. Media development using Blender 2.90.1 and Unity Engine 2018 4.36 software. Data analysis was carried out by normality, homogeneity, t-test, and learning due diligence. The results of this study can be concluded that (1) the percentage of validation of media experts is 91.5%, and material experts are 93%. (2) data from the field shows that the learning outcomes of students who obtain android-based learning media using ethnomathematics-based Augmented Reality are better than students who use lecture learning methods (conventional learning)
“Do I really recognize it?” Delving into English Language Learners’ Identity Construction
Learners must construct a learning identity to succeed when learning English. This current study attempted to discuss English language learners’ (ELLs) insights on language learning identity construction. A survey study collected quantitative data from 219 ELLs in several Indonesian universities. Questionnaires were distributed and completed via online mode (i.e., Google Forms), and a two-week due time was assigned for each participant. As for results, various insights emerged as the ELLs recognized their identity construction. They have identity aspects such as linguistics, belongingness, expectation, attitude, and agency. Each aspect helped to form ELLs’ identity construction in many ways, including learning competence, socio-cultural awareness, educational component, and psychological conviction. Identity construction is not complicated to achieve as long as ELLs have strong learning commitment. In addition, it is implied that this study is paramount to empower pedagogical strategies, educational policies, and academic performance.
Exploring the Integration of Artificial Intelligence in Vietnamese Tertiary EFL Education: Teacher Perspectives and Pedagogical Challenges
This qualitative study investigates the concerns of Vietnamese tertiary English as a Foreign Language (EFL) teachers regarding the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in their classrooms. As educational landscapes evolve with technological advancements, understanding educators’ perspectives on AI becomes crucial, especially in settings where technological integration is still emerging. The study involved semi-structured interviews with nine EFL teachers from two Vietnamese institutions, categorized into three career stages: novice, mid-career, and near-end career. This approach provided insights into the varying perceptions and challenges experienced by teachers at different professional phases. The findings revealed four main themes: “Technological Integration Challenges in EFL Classrooms,” highlighting the difficulties in incorporating AI tools into teaching practices; “Pedagogical Concerns and AI’s Impact on Teacher-Student Interaction,” expressing worries about how AI might alter traditional educational dynamics; “Professional Development and Readiness for AI Integration,” emphasizing the need for targeted training; and “Concerns about AI’s Impact on Student Learning Outcomes,” focusing on the effectiveness of AI in enhancing student achievement. These themes suggest a need for comprehensive professional development in AI, careful implementation that considers the human element in education, and adaptable strategies for AI integration across different career stages. This research contributes to the growing discourse on AI in education, highlighting specific challenges and needs in the Vietnamese tertiary EFL context
