    PENDIDIKAN KARAKTER DI MADRASAH SALAFIYAH

    Theoretically, one of the dominant factors that influence the development of individual character are environmental factors which is a condition that allows the process of personal character development. Creating an conducive environment to the development of character Girikusumo Salaf Islamic School students is done by creating a tradition /habituation practical in everyday life in all their daily activities in relation to the quality of their religious or otherwise. Attempt the formation of character through this Salaf Islamic school in addition to the above character education, can also be done simultaneously through the educational value of the following steps. First, apply a “modeling” or “exemplary” or “uswah hasanah”. Second, efforts to explain or clarify to students constantly about the value of good and evil has been done in the Girikusumo Salaf Islamic School. Third, implement the SIS is based on character education.

    Basic issue on waqaf is the management, especially on the management of cash money. The institutions having in charge for managing the waqaf of cash money, have some management specific characteristics and patterns. This study focused on the management of waqaf on cash money in three institution, TWI, PKPU, and BMM. Applying qualitative method, it is found that waqaf of cash money still has some problems to solve: the lack of dissemination about waqaf of cash money among society mem­bers, the lack of professional nāẓir, no effective fundraising system, the weak managerial system, the low commitment on risk management, the unprotected purchasing power of money, and the variability on the distribution priority.

    This study with descriptive qualitative approach produces a fact that the context of education, the children of the Kalang community in general are also followed formal education, like other school children. They also received religious instruction as a compulsory subject. This of course has consequences for the possibility of cultural transformation through the instrument of education. Especially with religious education, the children of the Kalang community possible simultaneously and slowly will leave their teachings. Moreover, the nature of religious education itself is more of an orthodox religious values.

    Waqf of money curently become focus of interest among Muslim community. One of the banks executed the waqf of money is BSM. Some conclusions drawn from this research: (1) Information dissemination on waqf of money is still relatively limited compared to the wealth of medium and experiences that the bank had, (2) BSM has no specific counter for giving services, so any customer visiting the bank for applying waqf of money, customer service and the officials of the bank will serve them, without the nāẓir, and witness present; and (3) Two models of investation of the waqf of money in bank: riil sector for building mother and child hospital, and financial sector, in which the money was deposited in Deposito Syariah Mandiri.

    ANALISIS PENGARUH FINANCING TO DEPOSIT RATIO (FDR) TERHADAP PROFITABILITAS PERBANKAN SYARIAH DI INDONESIA

    This study aimed to (1) analyze the condition of Financing to Deposit Ratio (FDR) of Islamic Banking in Indonesia, (2) analyze the profitability of sharia banking in Indonesia; and (3) to analyze the influence of Financing to Deposit Ratio (FDR) of the profitability of sharia banking in Indonesia. This study took samples at Islamic banks in Indonesia including 11 Islamic Banks (BUS), 23 Business Units of Sharia Banking (UUS). The research data is from Islamic Banking Statistics published by Bank Indonesia from January 2008 until December 2010 (Financial Ratio Study to BUS and UUS period 2008-2010). The number of Islamic banks used is 34 banks. The technique uses simple linear regression analysis with the help of the program EVIEWS version 5.

    Although wakaf has much importance for social living and practiced since a long time ago, but in fact wakaf has not maximally functioned. Still much numbers of people living under poor line level showed this fact. Some causes make wakaf is not effective. In one side, the cause is related to the human resources, especially in the side of the organizer (nāẓir). Other cause is the weakness of the accountability of wakaf institution. Applying doctrinal and non-doctrinal approach, this research showed that in PKPU the organizer implemented the principle of transparency and accountability in managing waqaf in the institution. The principle of accountability is implemented in the form of audit, both internally and externally by public accountant. Applying the principle of accountability had been increasing the publict trust to the wakaf institution.

    Disaster preparedness module for resilience building among schoolchildren: A case study of floods in Kerala, India

    Building resilience among schoolchildren in flood-prone Kerala, India, is essential due to the recurring and severe impacts of floods. The 2018 floods and subsequent events led to widespread displacement, prolonged school closures, and disruptions to children's emotional and social support systems. This study explores disaster preparedness characteristics, coping mechanisms, and essential psychosocial skills among children to develop a child-centred disaster preparedness module. Adopting a qualitative case study design, data were collected through four focus group discussions with 32 schoolchildren, and interviews with six parents and four school social workers. Thematic analysis was conducted manually using Braun and Clarke’s six-step method, identifying themes considered as module section under three parts: disaster preparedness characteristics, including understanding flood hazards, articulation, support and collaboration; coping mechanisms, including emotional regulation, information management and exposure control, resilient behavior, and general health awareness; and psychosocial skills, including life skills, socio-spatial skills, cognitive skills, and skill-based preparedness. The proposed disaster preparedness module is intended for implemented in school curricula to enhance psychosocial readiness and confidence among children
