Human resource management plays an important role in how successful an organization or company can be. Human resource management is of utmost importance since it determines whether or not organizational goals can be achieved. One of such organizations with goals to achieve is BAZNAS of Depok Municipality with its Rice ATM program. It is a program to distribute rice that requires human resources to play some role in its implementation. Therefore, the existing human resources must be managed well to achieve its objectives. This research is qualitative with a descriptive approach. Such research attempts to interpret and describe the existing data. This research aims to find out the implementation, procedures and human resource management (HRDM) in BAZNAS’s Rice ATM program in Depok Municipality. The data were collected using observation, interviews, and documentation. This research found that human resources were managed fairly well in the Rice ATM program in procurement and planning. This was shown by the fact that Depok Municipality BAZNAS could cooperate and collaborate with the Zakat Collection Units (UPZ). However, the program’s maintenance and evaluation were still weak. On how it was implemented, BAZNAS would provide the rice ATMs and the program would be run by UPZs. Thanks to this mechanism, the rice assistance could be distributed more quickly to the community, making it easier to achieve the goal

The continuity and change of reformation ideas in the history of the Islamic intellectual movement necessitate a systematic categorization. This article endeavors to present a fresh framework for classifying Islamic thought, drawing inspiration from Fazlur Rahman’s categories of revivalist, classical modernist, neo-revivalist, and neo-modernist. More specifically, this article  examines a reclassification of Islamic thought and elaborates on its implications for the contemporary historical narrative of the Islamic intellectual movement within the Indonesian context. By undertaking a comprehensive literature review and employing a descriptive methodology for data collection and analysis, this article found out eight categories or typologies characterizing contemporary Islamic intellectual movements in Indonesia: (1) the revivalist movement, (2) the classical modernist movement, (3) the neo-revivalist movement, (4) the neo-modernist movement, (5) the traditionalist movement, (6) the neo-traditionalist movement, (7) the post-modernist movement, and (8) the post-traditionalist movement. These typologies commence with the emergence of classical modernism juxtaposed against classical traditionalism as the turning point of the dialectical progression of Indonesian Islamic intellectualism. Each typology has undergone a transformative process and metamorphosis within a dynamic scientific dialectic

A Contested Freedom of Religion or Belief (FoRB) under the Majority Power: The Dynamics of Shia Community in Indonesia

    Get PDF
The concept of Islamic law in Indonesia is dynamic, dominating several sectors but often arising with controversial effects. One of the minority groups affected is the Shi'a Islam. From the government, the MUI (Indonesian Ulama Council) and "moderate" religious organizations campaign and manipulate anti-Shi'a discourse in Islamic law and blasphemy law as a basis of power to encourage dehumanization or marginalization of minority Islamic groups. Shi'a is often accused of blaspheming Islam as it is different from Sunni beliefs and disrupts public order. This study aims to describe the complexity of the problem and show the dynamics related to the existence of Shia, both leading to the worst violations of the FoRB concept (Freedom of Religion or Belief) or actions in interfaith relations. This article is a qualitative library study. This paper argues that the affirmative action movement between religions contributes positively to responding to the majority-minority conflict in Indonesia by strengthening the multidimensional function of human rights and spreading awareness at all grassroots levels, NGOs, and government officials. This study found that inter-community coexistence raises the awareness that no one has the privilege to deprive every human being of any right

    Get PDF
Children with special needs experience disruptions in their physical, mental, and cognitive development and socialization, causing their daily activities to differ from other children. One classification of children with special needs was Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), in which the status and severity of ASD symptoms are related to cognitive abilities. This study aimed to determine the relationship between autism status in children with special needs and their cognitive abilities. This study employs a quantitative design with a cross-sectional method and involves 55 children with special needs in Malang City, East Java Province, Indonesia. The study was conducted on 55 children with special needs in Malang City in East Java Province, Indonesia. The Autism Spectrum Quotient (AQ-10) questionnaire was used to measure autism status, and cognitive abilities were measured using the Autism Treatment Evaluation Checklist (ATEC). This study showed that as many as 85.5% of children with special needs have characteristics that lead to autism. Most children lived with siblings (72.8%), and 21.8% had siblings with the same condition. The Spearman-Rho analysis indicated a significant relationship between autism status and cognitive abilities (coefficient: 0.425; p-value=0.001). Our study found that children with special needs tend to have ASD status, so children with ASD need to get cognitive therapy according to their abilities. Therefore, parents and special needs schools must collaborate to enhance the cognitive abilities, quality of life, and overall health of special needs students through therapy focused on child's abilities to help them achieve independence and productivity

Women and Children as Victims of Financial-based Violence in Online Gambling Circles: A Criminological Approach to Criminal Law and Rehabilitation Policy in Indonesia

    Get PDF
Online gambling in Indonesia increasingly exposes women and children to financial-based violence, making them vulnerable groups. Despite the rise in online gambling, current legal policies and rehabilitation programs have failed to fully address its harmful social effects. This study analyzes the criminogenic factors that contribute to victimization among women and children and evaluates the effectiveness of criminal law policies and rehabilitation programs in safeguarding them. Through a normative legal research method, utilizing legislative analysis, criminology, and case studies, the findings reveal that existing policies are inadequate and overlook the complexity of financial violence in this context. Rehabilitation programs also tend to be less effective, focusing primarily on legal and therapeutic approaches while neglecting broader social, economic, and cultural influences. This research proposes a more comprehensive and rehabilitative policy framework that not only seeks to punish offenders but also prioritizes prevention, reducing violence recurrence, and enhancing social reintegration for victims
