The Indigenous People of Biafra's (IPOB) Self-Determination Movements and the Role of the United Nations.
This study examines “The Dynamics of Self-Determination Movements and the Role of the United Nations: A Case Study of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) in Nigeria.” The UN's lack of action and formal recognition of IPOB's agitation has undermined the protection of the rights of indigenous people in Nigeria, particularly the Igbo community. The study adopts a qualitative methodology, utilising a time-series research design and documentary analysis of credible secondary sources, including international NGO reports and UN documents. The theoretical framework employed is the Theory of Social Constructivism, which posits that the actions of states and international organizations are shaped by socially constructed norms, ideas, and identities. One key finding is that the UN's indifference can be attributed to complex political dynamics, member states' economic interests, and the prioritisation of territorial integrity over self-determination claims. It is recommended, inter alia, that the UN establish an independent commission or a special rapporteur to investigate allegations of human rights violations against IPOB members and the Igbo community, and hold the Nigerian government accountable for any violations
Hijab in the Public Sphere of Muslim Countries in Southeast Asia, Media, State Rules, and Society Opinion
This article aims to explain state regulations and media perspectives in Muslim-majority countries in Southeast Asia regarding the use of the hijab as a religious symbol in public spaces. The influence of globalization has increased diversity in the media landscape in the public sphere, going beyond traditional face-to-face interactions and encompassing the vast realm of the Internet. While Muslim women in secular Western countries face bans on wearing the hijab in public spaces, Muslim women in Muslim-majority countries in Southeast Asia face challenges regarding their style of wearing the hijab in public spaces. This research is qualitative research based on the study of public space and religion. The analysis was carried out in three Southeast Asian countries, namely Indonesia, Malaysia, and Brunei Darussalam, which have Muslim populations with different characteristics. Indonesia and Malaysia are multicultural regions but are dominated by Muslims, and Brunei is a country with a Muslim majority. These three countries have different patterns of managing religion in public spaces. Religious symbols in public spaces reflect the relationship between public space phenomena, the state, and the social context in a region. Social media has expanded the public sphere, providing greater opportunities for religious groups to present their arguments or engage in da'wah (religious outreach)
Peer support and the mental health of Indonesian migrant workers: The mediating role of spiritual well-being and coping strategies
Peer support has been highlighted as an important factor in the mental health of Indonesian migrant workers abroad. Although many studies have investigated spiritual well-being and coping strategies, few have investigated the role of these as mediating variables. This study aims to determine the direct and indirect influences of peer support on mental health through the spiritual well-being and coping strategies of Indonesian migrant workers living abroad. The research participants were 183 Indonesian migrant workers based overseas. The sampling technique employed was convenience sampling. The data collection technique used was a scale questionnaire, including the peer support scale, coping strategy scale, spiritual well-being scale and mental health scale. The technique for analyzing the data was structural equation modeling. The results show that peer support (β = .247, p < .01), spiritual well-being (β = .176, p < .01), and coping strategies (β = .514, p < .01) had a direct effect on mental health. At the same time, there was an indirect effect of peer support (β = .159, p < .01), which was mediated by spiritual well-being and coping strategies. The research has theoretical implications regarding the importance of the encouragement of friends for the mental health of Indonesian migrant workers, especially when reinforced with spiritual well-being and coping strategies.
Moderating effect of self-regulation on the relationship between adversity quotient and family social support on academic procrastination in thesis completion
Final assignments are part of the strategy to train students' skills, but they often cause feelings of stress and lead to students choosing to postpone them. This research aims to determine how the influence of Adversity Quotient (AQ) and Family Social Support (FSS) on academic procrastination attitudes in completing a bachelor theses is moderated by Self-regulated Learning (SRL). The study was conducted in two state universities in Indonesia on students who had not completed their theses. Data collection was made through a survey, with online questionnaires based on Likert Scales using Google Forms. The instruments used were the Adversity Quotient (AQ) Scale, the Family Social Support (FS) Scale, the Self-regulated Learning (SRL) Scale, and the Academic Procrastination in Completing Bachelor Theses (APCBT) Scale. Data analysis was conducted using moderated regression analysis. The research results show an influence of the adversity quotient ( t = -2.165, p < .031) and family social support (t = 5.512, p < .000) on academic procrastination in completing theses. Self-regulated learning is demonstrated to moderate the relationship between adversity quotient and academic procrastination in completing theses (t = -2.126, p < .035), while self-regulated learning moderates the relationship between family social support and academic procrastination in completing theses (t = -4.831, p < .000). The empirical implication of this study is that during the theses preparation process, final-year students may face psychological challenges, so it is not uncommon for them to postpone work by introducing self-regulated learning roles, difficulty intelligence, and family social support can help students in suppressing the problem of academic procrastination in theses completion

Implementasi Pembelajaran Bahasa Arab Materi Qawāʿid Menggunakan Media Visual Wall Chart di Madrasah Aliyah
This study evaluates Arabic grammar (qawāʿid) instruction using visual wall charts in class XD at MA NU 03 Sunan Katong, Kaliwungu, Kendal, during the 2023/2024 academic year, assessing alignment with the SECTIONS framework. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach, the study involved the Arabic teacher, principal, and 33 students, with data collected via observations, interviews, documentation, and assessment records, analyzed using triangulation. Findings reveal that instruction comprises preparation (material development, wall chart creation), implementation (introducing concepts, examples, question-and-answer sessions, interactive exercises, discussions), and follow-up (group assessments, daily quizzes). The wall chart improved student outcomes, with an average score of 81 (meeting ≥75 criteria), notably for 70% of students without Arabic knowledge, and enhanced engagement among 60.6% visual learners. Per the SECTIONS framework, the wall chart aligns with seven criteria (Students, Ease of Use, Cost, Teaching and Media Selection, Interaction, Organizational Issues, Security and Privacy). However, it lacks Networking alignment due to its non-digital nature. Wall charts are effective for qawāʿid in resource-limited settings, though digital integration could enhance learning resources. Future research should explore multimodal approaches to accommodate diverse learning styles.
Separation and Determination of Free Fatty Acids in Corn Oil and Palm Oil by Liquid-Liquid Extraction and Acidi-Alkalimetric Titration
Free Fatty Acids (FFA), which include unsaturated fatty acids like oleic and linoleic acid and saturated fatty acids like palmitic and stearic, are present in most oil compositions. The various negative impacts of FFA require these compounds to be eliminated. This research aims to separate FFA using Liquid-Liquid Extraction (LLE) and determine the levels of FFA using acid-alkalimetric titration in corn oil and palm oil. FFA extraction was carried out for 4 minutes with a solvent ratio of 9,5 ml diethyl ether + 40 ml ethanol + 0,5 ml water. By adding 1M Na2SO4, re-extraction was carried out for 3 minutes. The results obtained were 0.95% FFA levels in corn oil and 1.26% FFA levels in palm oil. FFA levels of both oils are still below the SNI FFA percentage of 3%; besides that, it is found that the FFA levels in palm oil are higher than in corn oi
