Comparative study of artificial Neural Network and Kalman Filter models for blood demand forecasting at PMI Surabaya

    Get PDF
Blood plays a vital role in human health, making the need for donors and transfusions crucial. Currently, the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) in Surabaya faces a balance issue between blood supply and demand. To address this, a blood demand forecasting model has been created at the PMI using ANN with a 4% error rate. The Kalman Filter algorithm is known to significantly reduce prediction errors from the prediction and correction process, while an ANN is considered capable of handling data complexity and nonlinearity. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the performance of the ANN and Kalman Filter models and compare the model performance results to determine the model with the best performance level. The modelling uses the CRISP-DM method, which starts from data understanding, data preparation, data modelling, model evaluation, and forecasting. The results of this study indicate that the Kalman Filter model successfully minimizes errors compared to the ANN prediction results, achieving a model accuracy level reaching 93.1%. These results demonstrate that the Kalman Filter model can significantly reduce prediction errors in the prediction and correction process, making it more optimal than the ANN model in forecasting blood demand at the PMI in Surabaya

Mineralogical classification and impact simulation of the Punggur (H7-Melt Breccia) Meteorite, Indonesia

    Get PDF
Meteorite falls in Indonesia are rarely examined through systematic scientific analysis, resulting in limited documentation of fall events and incomplete classification of recovered specimens. The Punggur meteorite fall of 28 January 2021 reportedly produced at least five fragments. This study addresses that gap by analyzing two fragments (PM-01 and PM-02) to confirm their extraterrestrial origin and to characterize their physical, chemical, and mineralogical properties. Physical characterization involved measurements of density, magnetic susceptibility, and surface morphology. The chemical composition was determined using X-ray fluorescence (XRF), while microscopic imaging was employed to compare fusion-crust features with interior textures. A web-based meteoroid-impact modeling tool was further employed to estimate the atmospheric entry behavior and environmental effects of the fall. The result is that PM-01 has dimensions of 13 × 6.5 × 8 cm, a volume of 419 mL, a mass of 2200 g, and a density of 5.25 ± 0.26 g/cm³. PM-02 measures 25 × 23 × 16 cm, with a volume of 443 mL, a mass of 1820 g, and a density of 4.06 ± 0.06 g cm⁻³. Modeling results indicate that post-airburst fragments retained a residual velocity of approximately 16.2 km s⁻¹, while the airburst released an estimated 2.12 × 10¹⁰ J of energy (0.51 × 10⁻⁵ megatons). The shock wave reached observers 1.78 minutes after the event, accompanied by a maximum wind velocity of 0.0422 m s⁻¹ and sound levels near 25 dB—consistent with witness reports and the observed impact crater. Microscopic and XRF analyses reveal coarse-grained textures with high concentrations of Fe, Si, and Mg. PM-01 contains 23.55% Fe, 20.18% Si, and 12.48% Mg, whereas PM-02 contains 48.09% Fe, 25.06% Si, and 10.21% Mg. Thus, this finding indicates that the specimen’s mineralogy is dominated by olivine ((Mg, Fe)₂SiO₄), confirming that it aligns with the classification of an H7 melt breccia

HERMENEUTIKA DIGITAL AL-QUR’AN DAN BUDAYA LOKAL DI INDONESIA: MENUJU MODEL REKONSILIASI ANTARA PEMURNIAN DAN PELESTARIAN

    Get PDF

    Get PDF
Lack of interest in playing traditional sports due to the development of modern games. However, there are areas that still preserve and even foster solidarity and social resilience through traditional sports. This research aims to reveal the process and social value of traditional Sisemba sports in South Sulawesi. The unit of analysis is informed by a sociological perspective, employing a qualitative research method with a descriptive approach. Data collection techniques are direct observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis. The results showed that traditional Sisemba sports help foster the values of solidarity, cooperation, discipline, and resilience, and serve as an arena for learning the values of cooperation, courage, and loyalty to common rules. The game is often held in traditional rituals, such as harvest thanksgiving and gathering, which makes it more than just a physical activity. The dynamics found in social interaction, sportsmanship, and social ethics, involving both physical and emotional interactions, strengthen solidarity between players and teach the importance of accepting risk as part of life

Development of a Multidimensional Scale of Family Expressed Emotion (MS-FEE) for Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus outpatients

    Get PDF
Family expressed emotion (FEE) affects self-management in people with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM), but a measurement instrument based on the Indonesian cultural context has yet to be made available. This study aims to develop a self-report FEE scale for individuals with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, involving 229 participants in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The items were developed from five dimensions of expressed emotion (EE) and selected through expert validation and construct validity testing using confirmatory factor analysis (CFA). The results showed that the five-correlated factor model was the best fit (CFI = .959, TLI = .948, RMSEA = .042, SRMR = .050, BIC = 9,283.594). The reliability coefficients obtained using McDonald’s ω were acceptable, ranging from .603 to .761, apart from emotional over-involvement, which only scored .569. MIMIC-based DIF analysis by gender flagged 1 item (β = .220), indicating that women had higher endorsement, while other items were invariant. The findings confirm that FEE is multidimensional, especially in communities with a collectivist culture. The practical implication is that the scale can be used in clinical assessment and family-based interventions to enhance the self-management of T2DM patients in Indonesia

    Get PDF
Hypertension is one of the most prevalent non-communicable diseases and remains a major public health problem that increases the risk of cardiovascular morbidity and mortality. Dietary modification, especially increased intake of fruits and vegetables, is considered an effective non-pharmacological approach to control blood pressure. This study aims to examine the effect of giving a combination of watermelon and carrot juice on changes in blood pressure in hypertensive patients, using a pre-experimental design (one-group pretest-posttest design) with a purposive sampling technique involving 17 respondents. Data were analyzed using a dependent T-test. The results showed a significant decrease in both systolic and diastolic blood pressure after consuming the juice (p < 0.001). The average systolic pressure decreased from 149.00 mmHg to 133.00 mmHg, and the average diastolic pressure decreased from 93.65 mmHg to 87.47 mmHg. This study suggests that watermelon–carrot juice may serve as an affordable complementary option to support blood pressure control in hypertensive patients

The Effect of Providing Balanced Nutrition Education on Nutritional Knowledge, Diet, and Body Mass Index (BMI) in Adolescents

    Get PDF
Obesity is an overnutrition problem that has not yet received special attention from the government or society. Adolescents are easily influenced by their peers. Providing balanced nutrition education to adolescents at SMA Negeri 1 Singosari using the peer education method is expected to improve nutritional knowledge, enhance dietary patterns, and reduce the overweight adolescents' body mass index (BMI). A screening was conducted among tenth-grade students, identifying 60 students with a BMI ≥25.1 kg/m². The instruments included a nutritional knowledge questionnaire, Semi-Quantitative Food Frequency Questionnaire (SQ-FFQ) to assess dietary patterns, weight and height measurements to determine BMI. The results showed an increase in knowledge scores; however, it was not statistically significant (p-value = 0.106). There was a significant effect on the reduction of adolescents' BMI (p-value = 0.023). Dietary patterns showed improvement in average daily intake, frequency of consumption, and food preparation methods, although the intake of plant-based proteins, vegetables, and fruits remained below the Balanced Nutrition Guidelines. The results of this study imply that balanced nutrition education using the peer tutor method can be an effective approach to reduce BMI and encourage healthier eating patterns in obesity adolescents

Moringa oleifera leaves and Lumi-lumi (Harpodon nehereus) contain beneficial nutrients for the human body. The potential utilization of both materials as fortifying agents can improve the nutritional content of snack bars. This research aims to analyze the influence of moringa flour and lumi-lumi fish formulation on the sensory and chemical characteristics of snack bar products. The research design employed an experimental design with a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) involving three treatments: P1 (12 g moringa leaves + 30 g lumi-lumi), P2 (21 g + 30 g), and P3 (30 g + 30 g). Each treatment underwent proximate and organoleptic testing with 74 untrained panelists. The results showed significant differences in color and taste indicators between formulations (p-value <0.001 and 0.035), but no significant differences in aroma and texture (p-value 0.210 and 0.118). Formulation P1 was the most preferred by panelists. Its nutritional content includes 17.58% water, 2.78% ash, 22.18% fat, 2.83% protein, and 56.60% carbohydrates. In conclusion, snack bars made with a combination of moringa flour and lumi-lumi may serve as an acceptable alternative for meeting community macronutrient needs and support local food diversification
