    Get PDF
Ideological change in the representation of gemblak is an important issue in social discourse studies. This research uses Fairclough's Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) to examine the representation of gemblak in mass media and the novel Gemblak: Tragedi Cinta Budak Homoseks by Enang Rokajat Asura. The research objective is to reveal the language and ideology that shape the image of gemblak. The method used is qualitative with a discourse analysis approach. Data in the form of words, phrases, clauses, and sentences were collected through interviews and document studies. The results show that Detik News portrays gemblak positively as a figure who deserves respect, teaches politeness, and is good at socializing. In contrast, the novel frames gemblak as a negative figure, leading to bad judgment from society. This difference reflects the dynamics of power and changing social values in shaping the meaning of gem-blak. In conclusion, mass media and fiction have different ideological constructions in representing gemblak in the public sphere

ADSORPTION KINETICS OF METHYL ORANGE ON SILICA DERIVED FROM GAMALAMA VOLCANIC SOIL

    Get PDF
Silica gel was successfully synthesized from Gamalama volcanic soil using the sol-gel method and applied as an adsorbent to remove methyl orange (MO) dye. The synthesis process involved treating 20 grams of volcanic soil with 2 M HCl under stirring for 3 hours, followed by a 12-hour soaking period. The solid residue was subsequently filtered, dried, and reacted with 7 M NaOH for 2 hours. The resulting filtrate was neutralized through repeated washing with distilled water, and silica gel formation was achieved by titration with 2 M HCl until a final pH of approximately 3–4 was reached. The synthesized silica was evaluated for its adsorption performance against methyl orange, with optimal conditions identified at pH 4, a contact time of 5 hours, and an adsorbent dosage of 30 mg. UV-Vis analysis showed that the synthesized silica exhibited a higher adsorption capacity (6.7%) compared to raw Gamalama volcanic soil. Kinetic studies indicated that the adsorption process followed a pseudo-second-order model, suggesting chemisorption as the dominant mechanism. The rate constant (k₂) for the synthesized silica was 0.09 M⁻¹·h⁻¹, compared to 0.077 M⁻¹·h⁻¹ for the raw volcanic soil. This indicates that the synthesized silica adsorbed MO more rapidly, likely due to its higher purity and greater availability of active sites. The slightly lower k₂ observed in raw volcanic soil might be attributed to the presence of clay minerals such as halloysite and allophane, which possess negative surface charges at neutral to alkaline pH levels, leading to electrostatic repulsion with the negatively charged MO anions. Silica gel synthesized from Gamalama volcanic soil demonstrates promising potential as an eco-friendly adsorbent for dye removal from aqueous solutions

Environmental Factors Influencing Green Consumer Behaviour in the Digital Age Among the Millennial Generation

    Get PDF
In Indonesia, millennials’ awareness of environmental conservation is increasing, with social media serving as the main channel to promote sustainable development. However, a gap remains between awareness and actual green purchase behavior. Limited research has examined the link between buying environmentally friendly products and the role of social media in influencing millennial behavior. This study investigates how social media marketing, price perception, and environmental awareness shape attitudes toward green products and, ultimately, the intention to purchase them. Using a survey method with purposive random sampling, respondents were highly educated, active social media users, and residents of the Special Region of Yogyakarta. Data were collected via Google Forms and analyzed using structural equation modeling (SEM). The majority of respondents, aged 20–21, were active on social media but had limited knowledge of green products available in the market. High prices and limited availability were perceived as the main barriers to purchase. Waste, pollution, and global warming were identified as the most urgent environmental issues in Indonesia. Based on results showed that environmental awareness and social media marketing significantly influenced consumer attitudes, whereas price perception did not. This suggests millennials still perceive green products as more expensive than conventional ones, consistent with market realities. Nevertheless, creative social media content on platforms like Instagram and TikTok can effectively encourage millennials, as their environmental awareness is growing. Furthermore, a positive attitude toward green products significantly affects green purchase intention, with climate change awareness motivating young people to adopt environmentally responsible practices

    Get PDF
The establishment of Danantara as a state investment agency reflects Indonesia’s effort to enhance the efficiency of state asset management, yet it simultaneously raises significant legal and governance concerns regarding transparency and accountability. This study examines the legal risks inherent in the formation of Danantara, a state entity tasked with managing strategic SOE assets under Law No. 1/2025 and Government Regulation No. 10/2025. Employing a doctrinal legal method with a normative-prescriptive approach, it compares the regulatory frameworks of Danantara and Singapore’s Temasek Holdings. The analysis reveals significant vulnerabilities, including moral hazard, concentration of unchecked authority, and exclusion from the state finance regime. These structural flaws may undermine legal accountability and public oversight. Drawing on comparative legal insights, this paper proposes reforms to strengthen institutional independence, ensure transparent asset management, and restore checks and balances in sovereign investment governance. The findings contribute to the ongoing discourse on state capitalism and the legal architecture required to support it. Keywords: Danantara; State Investment; Good Governance; Transparency; Accountability; Moral Hazard

God in Modern Alienation: Theological Reflections on Tawheed and the Trinity in a Secular Context

    Get PDF
This study examines the phenomenon of God's alienation in modern secular societies through a comparative theological analysis of Tawheed in Islam and the Trinity in Christianity, using these concepts as its primary units of analysis. The research aims to examine how these two fundamental doctrines respond to the challenges of secularism, individualism, and materialism in shaping modern religious consciousness. Using a literature-based comparative theological approach combined with hermeneutic-analytical methods, this study integrates classical and contemporary sources, along with sociological data from global surveys, such as those conducted by the Pew Research Center and the World Values Survey. The findings reveal three key factors contributing to spiritual alienation: the crisis of transcendence, the individualization of belief, and the dominance of materialistic culture. Despite doctrinal differences, both Tawheed and the Trinity face similar struggles in maintaining theological relevance among younger and urban populations that are increasingly skeptical of religious authority. The study contributes to comparative theology by proposing a contextual model for reinterpreting the concept of divinity that balances transcendence with human experience. It also highlights the need to strengthen interfaith dialogue, digital engagement, and contextual theology to ensure that the concept of God remains a transformative moral and spiritual force in the twenty-first century
