    Get PDF
Primary students often face challenges with mathematical literacy. One practical approach to overcoming these challenges is the metaphorical thinking learning model, which utilizes metaphors to help students better visualize and grasp mathematical concepts. This study seeks to determine the impact of the metaphorical thinking learning model on students' mathematical literacy, particularly in the context of area conservation. For this research, we adopted a post-test-only control group design involving experimental and control groups with fourth-grade students. Participants were selected using a simple random sampling method. We collected data through a testing instrument designed to evaluate the students' mathematical literacy skills. The analysis used an independent t-test, preceded by normality and homogeneity tests, to ensure the data met the necessary prerequisites. The findings revealed a significant difference in mean scores, with the significance value falling below 0.05. This indicates that the metaphorical thinking learning model positively influences students' mathematical literacy. The results emphasize the model's effectiveness in enhancing the mathematical literacy of primary students. Furthermore, this study substantially affects various aspects of mathematical literacy. The areas most notably improved include the ability to formulate mathematical situations, followed by employing concepts, facts, procedures, and reasoning. The least affected aspects were interpreting, applying, and evaluating mathematical outcomes

    Get PDF
Islamic banking is facing increasing pressure to adopt sustainable business practices while maintaining compliance with sharia principles. In this context, Financial Technology (Fintech), Knowledge Management, Green Banking, and Sharia Compliance have emerged as critical factors influencing sustainability. This research aims to examine sustainable business models in Islamic banking in Central Java by analyzing the interrelations among these factors. A quantitative approach using Structural Equation Modeling Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) was applied to data from 515 sharia bank employees. The findings indicate that Fintech significantly influences Green Banking, Knowledge Management, and business sustainability, but does not directly affect Sharia Compliance. Green Banking significantly impacts both Sharia Compliance and business sustainability, while Sharia Compliance mediates the relationship between Green Banking and sustainability. These results highlight the need for deeper integration between Fintech and Islamic principles. Islamic banks are encouraged to develop strategies that synergize technological innovation, environmental responsibility, and religious compliance to achieve long-term, sustainable growth

Pathway linking executive function problems and non-suicidal self-injury among adolescents: The mediating role of emotion dysregulation

    Get PDF
Non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI) is a prevalent mental health issue among adolescents, with difficulties in emotional regulation identified as a significant predictor of such behavior. A set of neurocognitive skills known as executive function (EF) is also linked to NSSI. This study investigates the relationship between executive function problems and NSSI behavior, explicitly examining the mediating role of emotional dysregulation. Participants were selected using a non-probability purposive sampling technique, with the final sample consisting of 211 Indonesian adolescents aged between 12 and 18 (M = 14.57, SD = 1.42). The measurement instruments included the Teenage Executive Function Inventory (TEXI), the Cognitive Flexibility Scale (CFS), the Difficulties in Emotion Regulation Scale Short Form (DERS-SF), and the Deliberate Self-Harm Inventory (DSHI). Mediation analysis using the PROCESS macro for SPSS (model 4), revealed that emotion dysregulation significantly mediated the relationship between EF problems and NSSI. The indirect effect of EF problems and NSSI through emotion dysregulation was statistically significant (B = 0.203, 95% CI [0.0805, 0.3741]). Adolescents with lower EF are more prone to emotional difficulties, thus increasing the risk of NSSI. The study provides implications that help elucidate the dynamics of the NSSI phenomenon among adolescents. Furthermore, the findings highlight the need for interventions targeting both cognitive and emotional regulation skills to reduce NSSI in adolescents and promote overall mental health and well-being.

Specifically, this study focuses on understanding the mechanism of Islamic insurance, as well as the extent to which this insurance is able to answer the needs and challenges of Muslim travelers in the context of halal travel.. Method - In this study, data search was conducted using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) Method by summarizing findings from previous studies that are relevant to the research topic. The keywords from Indonesian used to search for data for this study are "Sharia Travel Insurance" and "Protection for Muslim Tourists". Result - Islamic travel insurance, based on the principle of takaful, provides protection for Muslim travelers through sharia-compliant mechanisms, such as tabarru and wakalah bil ujrah contracts. However, travelers still face various obstacles, such as a lack of understanding of takaful, limited coverage, and constraints in regulations and claim procedures. They need insurance coverage that covers important aspects, such as legal certainty that is free from gharar, maysir, and usury, as well as access to halal food and prayer facilities during the trip. To increase traveler confidence, the insurance industry needs to design more inclusive products, improve regulations that support sharia compliance, and improve financial literacy so that protection for Muslim travelers is more optimal. Implication - This study used data from Google Scholar to identify related articles, with a total of 1,010 articles found in the initial stage. After a screening process based on the relevant year range, 270 articles were identified from journals published in the period 2020–2025 as the basis for initial selection. Further screening was carried out using the Open Refine application by considering the inclusion criteria that had been set.
