The Politics of Power: Ridwan Kamil and the Dynamics of the 2024 Jakarta Election

    Get PDF
The 2024 Jakarta elections reflect the complexity of politics in Indonesia, where power is used strategically to maintain dominance. This paper aims to analyse the dynamics of power used by Ridwan Kamil, through the approach of Steven Lukes' (2005) three-dimensional view of power. Using a qualitative descriptive method based on literature study, this paper finds that although Ridwan Kamil utilizes the dimensions of Visible, Hidden and Invisible Power strategically; public resistance hinders the effectiveness of this strategy. This confirms that in an increasingly elitist political system, the 2024 Jakarta election still proves that as in democratic politics, power is not solely about elite dominance but also a matter of legitimacy and public acceptance that cannot be fully controlled by political actors. Although it cannot be denied that the power struggle between elites will always continue to occur

Parenting stress, resilience, religiosity, and emotional competence in caregivers of children with special needs

    Get PDF
Children with special needs require caregivers to care for them and provide full or partial assistance in the carrying out of their daily activities, including undergoing therapy, going to school, receiving medication, and performing their daily routines. This can cause stress and a burden of care for caregiver, meaning that caregivers require emotional competence; this study aims to develop a model of such competence. Using a cross-sectional, correlational quantitative approach, data were collected from 120 caregivers selected purposively from the Yamet Foundation in Central Java. The research instruments were the Profile of Emotional Competence, Centrality of Religiosity Scale, Resilience Scale, and the Parenting Stress Scale. The data were analyzed using structural equation modeling (SEM) with Lisrel. The findings reveal that the proposed model successfully captures the relationships between parenting stress, resilience, religiosity, and emotional competence. Parenting stress significantly and negatively affects emotional competence, with a path coefficient of β = -.39, t = -5.29, with higher stress levels correlating to reduced resilience and religiosity. In addition, resilience and religiosity act as mediator variables, with a score of z = -2.346 for religiosity and z = -2.017 for resilience, meaning that both variables act as mediators. However, resilience and religiosity do not directly influence each other. The study suggests that enhancing parents’ resilience and religiosity may buffer the impact of parenting stress on emotional competence. Thus, psychosocial support programs should integrate resilience-building and spiritual-based approaches to empower families of children with special needs

    Get PDF
The global shift toward sustainable energy has intensified research into renewable diesel production, owing to its superior fuel properties and environmental benefits. Catalysts play a crucial role in the hydrodeoxygenation of vegetable oils and biomass-derived feedstocks to produce green diesel. Natural zeolites, valued for their high thermal stability and tunable acidity, have emerged as cost-effective catalytic alternatives. This review explored recent advancements in the application of ammonium-modified natural zeolites as catalysts in green diesel production. Characterization techniques, including FT-IR (Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy), XRD (X-ray Diffraction), SEM (Scanning Electron Microscopy), TG-DTG (Thermogravimetric Analysis), nitrogen adsorption isotherms, and NH₃-TPD (Temperature-Programmed Desorption of Ammonia), were employed to analyze NH₄⁺-zeolites. Results demonstrate that ammonium modification enhanced the acidity, porosity, and catalytic efficiency of natural zeolites, leading to improved deoxygenation selectivity and increased green diesel yields. The NH₄⁺-modified zeolite achieved a C₁₅ hydrocarbon selectivity of 70%, compared to 54% for the unmodified variant. Furthermore, introducing ammonium ions helped regulate acidity by mitigating excessive Brønsted acidity, ultimately reducing coke formation and improving catalyst stability. This review discusses the physicochemical properties and catalytic performance of ammonium-modified natural zeolites in green diesel production. It also addresses the challenges and future directions for scaling up their application in renewable fuel technologie

    Get PDF
This study explores the determinants influencing the reuse intention of the GrabFood application among Generation Z consumers in Semarang City, Indonesia. Amid the rapid growth of online food delivery services, understanding the behavioral drivers of digital-native consumers remains underexplored, particularly in the context of Southeast Asian markets. This research contributes to the literature by integrating constructs from the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) with marketing perspectives such as brand personality and promotional incentives, offering a comprehensive framework to examine user retention behavior. Utilizing a quantitative approach, data were collected from 210 Gen Z respondents through structured questionnaires employing a 7-point Likert scale. The analytical method employed was Structural Equation Modeling using Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS), enabling robust assessment of the measurement and structural models. The findings reveal that brand personality, perceived usefulness, and voucher discounts significantly influence reuse intention, whereas perceived ease of use does not exhibit a direct effect. These results suggest that while functionality matters, emotional brand connections and tangible value propositions (such as discounts) are more salient in driving continued app usage among Gen Z users. The study offers practical implications for marketers and digital platform providers, highlighting the importance of aligning brand attributes with generational preferences and emphasizing value-driven promotions to enhance customer loyalty and sustained engagements

    Get PDF
This study examines the urgency of documentary evidence in the form of child psychology test results as a consideration for judges in determining child custody (hadanah) in divorce cases. Legal decisions in divorce cases in Medan (2021) prioritize the best interests of children, especially those who are still minors and vulnerable to psychological trauma due to conflict and parental separation. The results of child psychology tests serve as formal indicators of trauma or emotional disturbance and can help identify which parents provide a safer and more emotionally stable environment. This article uses a normative legal research method with a statutory and conceptual approach and is supported by a comparative study of first-instance court decisions. Empirical data obtained from interviews with psychologists and several judges at the Medan Religious Court show that child psychological assessments are often submitted but rarely considered by judges in their final decisions. This study criticizes the court's decision to grant custody to parents who have a history of violent behavior based on the results of psychological tests, which causes the child to show fear and be reluctant to interact with his mother. This article concludes that the principle of justice for children as the primary victims should be reviewed and emphasized and that psychological test results should be considered as crucial legal evidence in child custody decisions.
