Online media and narrative hegemony: Discourse network analysis of the 2025 Pertamina case

    Get PDF
This article examines how narrative dominance is constructed and contested in Indonesian online media coverage of the 2025 Pertamina mega corruption scandal. The study applies Discourse Network Analysis (DNA) to map relational configurations between actors and claims. The dataset consists of 110 attributed statements extracted from ten high-traffic Indonesian online news outlets published between February and March 2025. The study converts quoted statements into actor–claim networks and analyzes them using centrality and modularity measures. The results reveal a polarized discourse structure with four major communities (modularity Q = 0.47). A technocratic bloc dominates the network, accounting for 38% of statements and securing a disproportionate share of eigenvector centrality, while accountability-oriented actors remain structurally peripheral. The top ten central actors, including the Ministry of Energy, Pertamina, KPK, CNNIndonesia, Tempo.co, and ICW, function as anchors, brokers, or amplifiers that shape discursive visibility and legitimacy. The findings demonstrate how technocratic framing functions as a hegemonic anchor that reframes corruption as a managerial issue rather than a systemic crime. Practically, the study highlights the need for media policy reforms that strengthen watchdog amplification, diversify authoritative sources, and prevent excessive reliance on technocratic legitimation in corruption reporting. DNA thus offers a powerful methodological framework for diagnosing discursive power imbalances in digital democracies.

    Get PDF
This study investigates the effects of rice straw pretreatment using sodium hydroxide and the addition of molasses as a co-substrate on biogas production through anaerobic fermentation. The pretreatment process involved immersing rice straw in sodium hydroxide solutions at three different concentrations for twenty-four hours, while molasses was added at varying levels to evaluate its effect on the fermentation process. Compositional changes in the lignocellulosic biomass were analyzed using the Chesson–Datta method, which revealed significant alterations in cellulose, hemicellulose, and lignin contents. The lowest sodium hydroxide concentration produced moderate delignification while retaining a relatively high cellulose content, indicating its potential as the optimal pretreatment condition. Molasses addition consistently increased biogas production as dosage levels rose, with the highest yield observed at the maximum molasses concentration. The combined application of the lowest sodium hydroxide concentration and the highest molasses level resulted in the maximum biogas yield, demonstrating improved substrate biodegradability and fermentation efficiency. These findings highlight the practical potential of integrating NaOH pretreatment with molasses co-substrate addition to enhance the conversion efficiency of lignocellulosic agricultural waste into renewable energy through anaerobic fermentation

    Get PDF
This study examines the relationship between Islamic monetary policy and Indonesia’s economic development through a systematic literature review (SLR) approach. The research aims to identify how Islamic monetary instruments contribute to achieving national economic goals of justice, equality, and sustainable growth. Data were collected from thirteen indexed journal publications in Scopus, DOAJ, and Sinta databases that discuss Islamic monetary policy and its role in Indonesia’s economy. The results show that Islamic monetary instruments such as the Wadiah Bank Indonesia Certificate (SWBI) and the Interbank Mudarabah Investment Certificate (IMA) enhance liquidity management, stabilize prices, reduce unemployment, and promote equitable wealth distribution. The findings indicate that Islamic monetary frameworks contribute significantly to financial stability, real-sector productivity, and social welfare. However, structural and institutional challenges remain, including regulatory inconsistencies and limited integration between Islamic banking and national monetary policy. The study contributes theoretically by reinforcing the role of Sharia-based instruments in achieving maqasid al-shariah and practically by offering insights for policymakers to strengthen coordination, financial literacy, and innovation in Sharia-compliant monetary mechanisms. Future research should incorporate empirical and econometric models to assess the quantitative impact of Islamic monetary policy on key macroeconomic indicators such as inflation, employment, and GDP growth

    Get PDF
Differences in legal systems between Australia and Indonesia have the potential to impact the fulfillment of the legal requirements of an agreement, including in the context of rental contracts. Australia is a leading destination for higher education for Indonesian students, and in 2021, the number of Indonesian students in Australia was recorded as the highest among study destination countries. This situation makes a comparative study of the contract law of the two countries relevant, particularly to understand potential differences in the formation, implementation, and resolution of contractual disputes. This analysis is essential so that parties, especially Indonesian students in Australia, can anticipate the legal consequences of their legal actions in rental practices. The research method used in this study is normative juridical with analytical descriptive research specifications. The results show that the differences in the legal requirements of agreements between Indonesia and Australia are based, in part, on the existence of the Tellinty Form, which emphasizes the need for written contracts. The practice of renting residential properties in Australia uses a special form, as regulated by the Tendential Renancies Act, for its completeness and content. If the landlord does not execute a written contract, there will be special consequences. Meanwhile, in Indonesia, contract-making practices are still based on verbal agreements. Likewise, even when written, many do not comply with the standard rental contract format stipulated in Government Regulations. This research contributes to the analysis of student housing rental agreements as a basis for reforming rental law in Indonesia. Get PDF
This article discusses the abolition of the net-metering scheme under Ministerial Regulation of Energy and Mineral Resources Number 2/2024, which reduces the economic viability of rooftop solar power plants in Indonesia, especially for households. This study uses a normative and comparative legal approach to examine the absence of post-net metering incentives. It offers a Feed-in Tariff (FiT) with limited quotas as an alternative. The results show that the abolition of net metering extends the payback period for rooftop solar power plants, making their adoption less feasible without additional support. Meanwhile, the experiences of other countries such as Japan and Bangladesh demonstrate the success of FiT in providing tariff certainty and grid stability. This research contributes by emphasizing the relevance of Article 33 of the 1945 Constitution in the context of energy justice, while proposing FiT with limited quotas as a more equitable and sustainable incentive. This scheme is expected to encourage the use of green energy in Indonesia in line with commitments to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 7 and 13 commitments.

Murabaha financing is one of the main instruments in Islamic banking in Indonesia, which has made a significant contribution to supporting the economic activities of the people. However, in practice, various problems are often encountered, particularly related to information transparency, legal certainty, and fairness for consumers. This study aims to analyze juridically how regulations in Indonesia govern and protect consumer rights in murabaha financing. The research method used is normative legal research with a legislative and conceptual approach, supported by secondary data in the form of laws, DSN-MUI fatwas, and academic literature. The results show that regulations in Indonesia have provided a basis for consumer protection, but there are still weaknesses in their implementation, particularly in the use of standard contracts and clauses that have the potential to harm consumers. This study concludes that there is a need to reformulate regulations to be more adaptive to consumer interests and in line with the principles of justice and maqashid al-shariah. Thus, this study provides theoretical and practical contributions to strengthening consumer protection in Islamic banking
