Purpose - Aims to examine in depth the implementation of sharia principles in the insurance industry in Indonesia. The main focus is to evaluate the extent to which principles such as monotheism, justice, ta'awun, and cooperation are implemented through sharia contracts such as tabarru', tijarah, mudharabah musytarakah, and wakalah bil ujrah in sharia insurance practices. Method - The method used in this study is Systematic Literature Review (SLR). Data were collected from 500 articles filtered through Google Scholar with the keywords "sharia principles" and "insurance industry" in the period 2020-2025. After going through the selection and data cleaning stages, the seven most relevant articles were analyzed in depth to identify key findings and academic trends related to the topic. Result - The results of the study show that although sharia insurance has a strong basis in Islamic principles, its implementation still faces several major challenges. Among them are low public literacy, lack of standardization in the implementation of contracts, weak regulations from the government, and less than optimal services comparable to conventional insurance. In addition, there was a gap in understanding between industry players and customers regarding sharia contracts. Implication - emphasizes the need to strengthen education, improve service systems, and formulate regulations that are more supportive of the development of the sharia insurance industry. This study also recommends increasing the role of the Sharia Supervisory Board in ensuring operational compliance with sharia values. Originality - This study provides an original contribution through a systematic literature approach, by integrating various dimensions of sharia (theological, managerial, social, and digital) in its analysis. This study is expected to be a theoretical and practical reference for academics, regulators, and industry players in strengthening the sharia financial system in Indonesia. Get PDF
Tinder is one of the virtual spaces that allows individuals to negotiate and present themselves dynamically. Stereotypes and traditional social norms continue to influence how gender is understood and represented online, which in turn reinforces problematic biases in interactions in digital spaces. This study aims to analyze the construction of gender identity among Tinder dating app users within the framework of a digital society. Employing a qualitative method with a netnographic approach, this research involves the researcher's active participation in the Tinder platform's virtual space by observing 52 user accounts and conducting in-depth interviews with five informants. The findings reveal that Tinder users construct gender identity through visual and textual elements, including profile photos, brief bios, hobbies, and interests. Gender identity on the platform can be manipulated and diversified to represent themselves as "women" and or "men." It underscores the necessity for contextualization and redefinition of gender identity within cyberspace. The study makes a significant contribution by revealing how gender identity on Tinder challenges traditional binaries through performative practices that blur the rigid boundaries between “feminine” and “masculine” while offering new insights into gender fluidity within digital spaces as arenas for renegotiating social norms

Islam teaches the importance of maintaining the balance of nature and justice in the use of resources. Currently, one of the problems caused by human negligence due to a lack of awareness in protecting the environment is health problems. Therefore, an infectious disease that has become endemic in Indonesia is Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF). Dengue fever is caused by the dengue virus, which is transmitted through the insect vector Aedes sp. One of the controls carried out to control mosquitoes as a vector of dengue disease is to use natural predators with fish as mosquito larvae eaters. The purpose of this study is to observe the feeding behaviour and predation rate of Swordfish (Xiphophorus hellerii), and Platyfish (Xiphophorus maculatus) against mosquito larvae (Aedes sp.) and the study is based on an Islamic perspective. The observation results obtained from the feeding behaviour of X. hellerii and X. maculatus fish are that they are predators that chase, catch, and directly prey on their prey. X. hellerii fish has a higher level of feeding behaviour compared to X. maculatus fish in preying on mosquito larvae (Aedes sp.). The average predation ability of X. hellerii fish against Aedes sp. instar III larvae was 24.8 fish, while X. maculatus fish was 18.4 larvae. So that the fish X. hellerii is said to have better potential as a biocontrol to control the mosquito population, which is a vector of dengue disease, in accordance with the recommendation to maintain the balance of nature in Islamic teachings

    Get PDF
The violent and religiously manipulative content of several religious movies can cause trauma to those who view them. This study uses cognitive dissonance theory to analyze how religious movie that highlight aspects of fear in the movie can affect social construction, particularly in light of the possibility of extreme attitudes. Qualitative content analysis using narrative and visual techniques to many key scenes is the methodology employed. The findings demonstrated how the portrayal of religious organizations as purveyors of threatening doctrine that emphasizes punishment affects the psychological strain of the story's characters, leading to internal conflict and a range of responses, such as rejection and extreme tendencies. The results show how authoritative religious teachings might influence psychological and symbolic pressure. To promote critical attitudes and avoid the possible detrimental effects of interpreting teachings that emphasize fear, this research helps clarify the significance of media literacy and the selective distribution of religious beliefs

Negotiating the meaning of female genital mutilation and cutting: A symbolic interactionist approach among religious university students

    Get PDF
The meanings attributed to Female Genital Mutilation/Cutting (FGM/C) are shaped through complex negotiations within religious and socio-cultural frameworks, including those observed in Indonesia. Using a combined qualitative and quantitative (mixed methods)-ethnographic and survey approach, data from 109 students of religious tertiary institutions in East Kalimantan on their perspectives on FGM/C practices can be more comprehensively explored. The results of the study, which were analysed using the three principles of symbolic interactionism, showed that 72.5 per cent of religious college student families still practice FGM/C and 53.2 per cent stated that FGM/C practices are beneficial for women.  However, they are also willing, if asked, to help socialise FGM/C prevention with a percentage of 54.1 percent. This research contributes to revealing the constitutive communication owned by religious tertiary students with the emergence of negotiations on the meaning of FGM/C practices originating from the family environment and from the environment where they pursue higher education. Prevention efforts will have a greater impact when the Government collaborates with the parties according to their contribution. This research contributes to bridging the gap between the traditional understanding that lives in the cultural and religious values of the family and the critical perspective in the academic environment through an inclusive dialogue space to create zero tolerance for the practice of FGM/C, not only in East Kalimantan but also in Indonesia.

COLLECTIVE INSIGHTS ON THE POLYMORPHS, BIOAVAILABILITY, AND BINDING PROPERTIES OF ATOVAQUONE (ANTIMALARIAL DRUG): AN OVERVIEW

    Get PDF
This review initiative had interrelated key aspects like crystal structure, bioavailability, and stereospecific binding capabilities of Atovaquone. Surprisingly, very little literature was available regarding the exploration of different polymorphs of Atovaquone. Interestingly, extensive literature was found towards the bioavailability features and factors specifically related with Atovaquone. Several researchers had attempted to correlate crystal morphology and orientation with the binding properties of Atovaquone and its structurally related compounds. The polymorphic stability of the molecule will play a crucial role in drug formulation and contributes towards the bioavailability of the drug through variations in solubility. Hence for Atovaquone, two factors must be considered: its polymorphic nature and the presence of stereospecific isomers to explain its bioavailability and binding properties. The trans-isomer of Atovaquone, having a specific polymorphic form had provided higher bioavailability, more efficient binding, and an expectedly higher inhibitory activity
