Purpose. Digital transformation accelerated by advances in artificial intelligence (AI) has changed the way students explore and evaluate information, especially in the early stages of digital literacy. This study aims to analyse the information literacy practices of students of the Faculty of Adab and Humanities (FAH) and the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) of UIN Imam Bonjol Padang in the context of Digital Humanities, focusing on the use of AI-based tools in the search, discovery and evaluation of information sources. Methodology. This research uses a quantitative approach with a descriptive-comparative design. The sample consisted of 245 FAH and FST students of UIN Imam Bonjol Padang, who were purposively selected. Data were collected through a five-point Likert questionnaire and analysed using SPSS version 26 with descriptive and Chi-Square tests. The validity and reliability of the instruments were tested, with Cronbach's Alpha >0.80. Results and discussion. The findings indicate that the majority of respondents routinely use AI tools such as ChatGPT, Google Bard, Gemini, and Perplexity for initiating information searches. AI is considered highly useful for initial reference discovery, expanding exploration scopes, and distinguishing between relevant and irrelevant sources. However, doubts remain among students regarding AI's effectiveness in assessing source credibility. These results underscore the need to integrate critical thinking approaches into AI-based digital literacy education in Islamic higher education institutions. Conclusions. This study contributes to the Digital Humanities discourse by offering an initial mapping of students' interaction patterns with AI in the digital information literacy landscape

Service is an invisible service activity that can only be felt by someone. Good service will evoke various assumptions and even perceptions, which will trigger perceived satisfaction. Switching to services, there is no doubt when discussing Hajj and Umrah travel companies. Currently, numerous enthusiasts are eager to perform these services, and companies are competing to provide excellent service to each prospective pilgrim. This study aims to analyze the effect of registration services, which are only seen from two sides, namely (Tangible) physical evidence and (reliability) employee reliability, on the level of registration satisfaction. The method used in this research is field research with a quantitative approach. The study used samples from 47 individuals out of a total congregation of 90 people. The result obtained proves that there is a significant effect on Umrah registration by 84,4% on the physical evidence dimensional and 95% on the reliability dimension, because the congregation’s satisfaction score is in the range of 80-100, which means that the congregation can be said to be satisfied with the service provided by employees to the congregation. These findings convince prospective pilgrims in choosing Hajj and Umrah travel companies for the sake of convenience during the Hajj or Umrah pilgrimage

Repositioning Mosques as Centers for Islamic Socio-Economic Empowerment: Lessons from the Jogokariyan Mosque in Indonesia

Mosques have historically functioned not only as places of worship but also as centers for social, educational, and economic development within Muslim communities. However, in contemporary contexts, particularly in Indonesia, the socio-economic role of many mosques has declined and remains underutilized. This study aims to analyze strategies for repositioning mosques as centers of Islamic socio-economic empowerment by examining the best practices implemented at the Jogokariyan Mosque in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. This research employs a qualitative document analysis method, utilizing secondary data obtained from scientific literature, journal articles, institutional reports, and previous empirical studies related to mosque management and community empowerment. The findings indicate that effective mosque-based empowerment is strongly supported by professional management practices grounded in the POAC (Planning, Organizing, Actuating, and Controlling) framework, transparent financial governance, and a balanced allocation of consumptive and productive funds. The Jogokariyan Mosque exemplifies successful community engagement through innovative programs, including waste banks, community marketplaces, daily almsgiving initiatives, social services, and publicly accessible financial reporting. Active participation of congregants and inclusive leadership by mosque administrators (takmir) further strengthens the sustainability of these programs. This study concludes that mosques can function as dynamic institutions for socio-economic development when managed transparently, participatorily, and adaptively. The Jogokariyan model offers a replicable framework for other mosques in Indonesia to enhance their role in addressing community welfare and economic resilience

The low level of students' understanding of the values of diversity in Islamic teachings, particularly in Q.S. Al-Hujurāt/49:13, encourages the need for learning strategies that can facilitate conceptual understanding while strengthening social attitudes. This study aims to analyze efforts to improve the understanding of fourth-grade students of Sumurboto Public Elementary School through the implementation of the Think-Pair-Share (TPS) cooperative learning model. This study uses a Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach which is implemented in three cycles, each including the planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The research subjects were 26 students (9 boys and 17 girls). Data collection was carried out through learning outcome tests, participatory observations, and interviews, with qualitative and quantitative descriptive data analysis. The results of the study showed a significant increase in students' understanding: the percentage of learning completion increased from 55% (cycle I), 75% (cycle II), to 90% in cycle III. The average score also increased from 74 on the pre-test to 88 on the post-test. Furthermore, students' social interactions and engagement in discussions increased, indicating that TPS was effective in fostering collaboration and connecting diversity values to real-life contexts. These findings provide an original contribution to the application of cooperative models for teaching Islamic values in elementary schools, while also enriching inclusive and contextual pedagogical practice

Enhancing Elementary Students' Numeracy Skills Through The Concrete Pictorial Abstract (CPA) Approach

This study investigates the impact of the Concrete-Pictorial-Abstract (CPA) method on fifth-grade students' SDN Cipayung 02 numeracy skills. In response to low numeracy performance on national examinations such as PISA, TIMSS, and Indonesia National Assessment Programme, as well as classroom observations emphasizing standard teaching approaches' limitations, this study investigates CPA as an alternate instructional strategy. The study used a posttest-only control group structure and a quasi-experimental methodology. Two randomly chosen classes make up the sample; one is the experimental group, and the other is the control. Data were obtained by testing, and the Independent Sample T-Test in SPSS Version 29 was used for analysis. Higher post-test scores in the experimental group (mean score of 70.32) than in the control group (mean score of 45.86) demonstrate that the CPA strategy significantly enhances students' numeracy skills when compared to traditional teaching approaches. The CPA technique, which goes through concrete, pictorial, and abstract stages, promotes a stronger mental understanding and practical application of mathematical principles. This study emphasizes the CPA approach's effectiveness in promoting numeracy literacy and suggests its widespread implementation in mathematics instruction. This study shows that CPA can be applied in mathematics learning by gradually using concrete objects, images, and symbols to improve students' understanding. Teachers need to be trained in using CPA through professional training and developing more interactive teaching modules. Numeracy assessments should also be adapted to problem-based formats and visual representations to suit this approach better. Education policies can adopt CPA in the national curriculum to improve numeracy literacy and international assessment results

Kant's Legacy: Exploring Borders, Races, and Gender in His Philosophy

Immanuel Kant's philosophy, celebrated for its universalist ethics, harbors a shocking paradox: his groundbreaking ideas on autonomy and cosmopolitanism coexist with deeply Eurocentric, racist, and patriarchal views. This tension raises urgent questions about the applicability of Kantian principles in contemporary debates on borders, race, and gender. This study critically examines Kant's legacy, interrogating how his moral and political frameworks, while foundational, reinforce hierarchies that marginalize non-Europeans, women, and migrants. The research objectives are threefold: (1) to analyze Kant's contradictions between universalism and exclusionary practices, (2) to assess the implications of his racial and gendered hierarchies for modern social justice movements, and (3) to explore pathways for reclaiming Kantian ethics inclusively. Using a systematic literature review of peer-reviewed works (1990–2024), the study synthesizes critiques from critical race theory, feminist philosophy, and postcolonial studies. Key findings reveal that Kant's racial theories justified colonial oppression, his gender binaries perpetuated patriarchal norms, and his cosmopolitanism neglected border violence. However, his emphasis on human dignity offers a redeemable framework for rethinking global justice. The study contributes by bridging Kantian scholarship with intersectional critiques, proposing a revised ethics that confronts historical biases while retaining universalist aspirations. By exposing these contradictions, the paper urges philosophers to reckon with Kant's legacy—not to discard it, but to transform it into a tool for equity

Family Schools in Enhancing Gender Partnerships and Socio-psychological and Cultural Resilience

Inequality in gender roles is still one of the causes of low psycho-social and sociocultural resilience in families. In response to this issue, the Family School Program is present to build equal gender partnerships and strengthen family resilience. This study used a quantitative approach with descriptive analysis, involving 86 purposively selected Family School participant families. The instrument used was the Family Resilience questionnaire from the Ministry of PPPA. The results showed that 77 families had implemented gender partnership, while 9 had not. A total of 54 families had socio-psychological resilience, and 73 families showed sociocultural resilience. Overall, 19 families were rated as low resilience, 63 as moderate, and only 3 as high. This research shows that most families are at the medium level of resilience. This study looks at the integration of gender and cultural perspectives in the context of family strengthening and contributes to more effective family-school development programs and psycho-social and local value-based interventions

Transformation of religious authority in the digital era: A post-normal times analysis by Ziauddin Sardar on the phenomenon of social media da’wah

Purpose – This study aims to analyze how digital transformation in Islam has altered the structure of religious authority, using the Post-Normal Times (PNT) approach developed by Ziauddin Sardar. Method – This research employs a qualitative-descriptive approach, analyzing the digital da’wah phenomenon, specifically social media's role in shaping religious authority. Result – The findings indicate that the digitalization of religion has caused a shift in religious authority from the traditional hierarchy dominated by scholars and religious institutions to a popularity-based authority, where figures like celebrity preachers and Islamic influencers have become dominant. Social media facilitates the spread of da’wah, but also gives rise to phenomena such as instant fatwas, fragmentation of religious teachings, and the commodification of religion. In the Post-Normal Times framework, the uncertainty of authority increases, where algorithms and popularity replace traditional scholarly credibility. Implication – This study has significant implications for managing digital da’wah, religious literacy, and the need for regulation to minimize negative impacts, such as spreading misinformation and oversimplifying religious teachings. Originality/Value – This study offers an original contribution by applying the Post-Normal Times theory to analyze changes in religious authority within the context of digital da’wah, a topic not widely discussed in the literature on religion and social media.
