Optimizing Arabic Listening Skills: A Systematic Review and the Proposal of an Integrated Suggestopedic Brain-Based Learning (ISBBL) Model
Proficiency in Arabic listening skills is often hindered by significant psychological barriers, such as foreign language anxiety. This study aims to address this challenge by developing a coherent pedagogical framework that integrates the affective strategies of Georgi Lozanov's Suggestopedia with the neuroscientific principles of Brain-Based Learning (BBL). A Systematic Literature Review (SLR) was conducted following PRISMA guidelines. The process began with the identification of 205 records from academic databases, which were then screened to yield a final corpus of 36 core articles for thematic synthesis. This synthesis focused on literature pertaining to Suggestopedia, Brain-Based Learning (BBL), and listening acquisition. The analysis revealed profound synergies between Suggestopedia's techniques (e.g., concert sessions) and BBL's core principles (e.g., relaxed alertness, emotional engagement). This synthesis resulted in the formulation of the Integrated Suggestopedic Brain-Based Learning (ISBBL) model—a novel, five-phase conceptual framework proposed to systematically guide learners from high anxiety to a state of relaxed, active engagement. The ISBBL model offers a practical framework for educators. While it awaits empirical validation, the model conceptually grounds the intuitive methods of Suggestopedia in the principles of educational neuroscience. This framework presents a structured approach to overcoming affective barriers in Arabic listening instruction and is recommended for further empirical research to validate its classroom efficacy
Actualizing Malay communication ethics in social media: Study of the Kitab Kumpulan Ringkas Berbetulan Lekas
This research stems from the rampant negative impact of social media as a medium of communication in the cyber era, such as crime, cyber violence, sexual harassment, pornographic content, gossipy infotainment, and so on. This study uses the content analysis method that is extracted from the parts of values of communication ethics in Kitab Kumpulan Ringkas Berbetulan Lekas (KRBL) written by Raja Ali Kelana. The urgency of this research is part of the effort to answer the needs of today based on past experiences and as part of maintaining the value of wisdom that lives in the treasury of knowledge in Malay. The results of the study of the content of communication ethics in KRBL show that the principles of communication ethics contained therein are speaking the truth, being knowledgeable, not indulging in disgrace, speaking softly, not arguing, and maintaining confidentiality. These values seem to be very normative and in line with the values in Islamic teachings and universal values in communication. The content of communication ethics values in KRBL is also still quite relevant to be actualized in social media. From this study, it is also revealed that the intellectual legacy of Nusantara figures enriches the study of Islamic communication, necessitating further research on different figures, approaches, and subjects.

Biological Control Agent of Spodoptera frugiperda Using Bacillus thuringiensis Bacteria
The main obstacle in the development of food crop production and horticulture is the attack of S. frugiperda larvae. Pest control using chemical insecticides has a long-term negative impact. The biological control of Spodoptera frugiperda larvae is accomplished by utilizing B. thuringiensis bacteria. This study aims to determine the best B. thuringiensis isolate for killing S. frugiperda larvae, to identify the most effective concentration of B. thuringiensis suspension, and to ascertain the mortality rate of S. frugiperda larvae. The design of this study was a randomized block design (RBD) with two factors. The first factor was the type of B. thuringiensis isolate, consisting of four isolates. Larval mortality data were analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and further tested with the Duncan test. The results obtained showed the highest average mortality of S. frugiperda larvae using isolates Bt3BP14 and Bt4TSR6. These two isolates had the highest average mortality on the third day. Bt3BP14 and Bt4TSR6 isolates have high potential in controlling S. frugiperda larvae, with an average mortality proportion of 86,67% and 66,67% observed over three days. The best doses of B. thuringiensis suspension for killing S. frugiperda larvae were 15 ml and 20 ml. It can be concluded that B. thuringiensis isolates can be used as natural biological control agents against S. frugiperda larvae that attack food crops and horticulture
NaOH-MODIFIED ACTIVATED CARBON FROM CORNCOBS AS A HETEROGENEOUS CATALYST: SYNTHESIS AND APPLICATION IN ULTRASOUND-ENHANCED TRANSESTERIFICATION OF USED COOKING OIL
Biodiesel is an alternative fuel composed of fatty acid methyl esters that can be synthesized from renewable sources and offers lower combustion emissions compared to fossil fuels. In this study, biodiesel was produced via a transesterification reaction using a basic heterogeneous catalyst derived from corncob carbon, which was activated and surface-modified with NaOH to create active catalytic sites. XRD and FTIR analyses confirmed the presence of Na₂CO₃ and Na₂O, while SEM-EDX revealed a porous surface morphology with uniformly distributed sodium. Used cooking oil (UCO) served as the triglyceride source after undergoing degumming, neutralization, and adsorption processes to reduce free fatty acid (FFA) content. The transesterification reaction was conducted in an ultrasonic water bath using the reflux method at 60°C with an oil-to-methanol molar ratio of 1:12. The optimum reaction conditions were achieved using 0.5 wt% catalyst and a reaction time of 120 minutes, yielding 73.15% biodiesel. The quality of the biodiesel produced under optimum conditions was evaluated based on density, viscosity, acid value, and calorific value, which were 857 kg/m³, 3.8743 cSt, 0.2504 mg KOH/g, and 11,168 cal/g, respectively. These values comply with the quality requirements specified in SNI 04-7182-2015. GC-MS analysis confirmed that the major components of the biodiesel were methyl oleate and methyl palmitate. The utilization of corncob waste as a sustainable catalyst support, combined with alkali modification and ultrasonic enhancement, offers improved catalytic efficiency under mild operating conditions. This eco-friendly catalyst demonstrates strong potential for green catalytic processes in renewable energy development

This study aims to determine the effect of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by problem-based worksheets on the learning outcomes and cognitive abilities of students in the motion system subject in class XI at SMA Negeri 1 Bahorok in the 2025/2026 academic year. This quasi-experimental study with a pretest and posttest control group design involved 72 students selected through simple random sampling. Class XI-1, as the experimental group, received PBL learning assisted by problem-based worksheets, while class XI-3, as the control group, received direct learning (lectures). The results of the study showed an increase. The average score increased from 37.31 to 72.78 in the experimental class (61.11% mastery) and from 41.11 to 55.00 in the control class (19.44% mastery). Overall, the N-Gain of the experimental class was g = 0.57 (57%, moderate), higher than that of the control class, g = 0.23 (23%, low). At the C4-C6 cognitive level, the experimental class showed N-Gain C4 = 0.60 (60%, moderate), C5 = 0.51 (51%, moderate), and C6 = 0.70 (70%, high)—consistently exceeding the control class (C4 = 0.30; C5 = 0.16; C6 = 0.09). Thus, the application of PBL assisted by problem-based LKPD had a positive effect on the learning outcomes and cognitive abilities of students
Reformulating Governor Elections between Popular Sovereignty and Government Effectiveness in Indonesia’s Decentralised System
This study comprehensively examines the design of gubernatorial elections in Indonesia within the framework of decentralisation, with a particular focus on balancing the principle of popular sovereignty and the demands of local government effectiveness. Through a normative legal approach, juridical-deductive analysis, and a comparative constitutional study of the United States, Germany, India, Brazil, and the Philippines, this article evaluates the impact of the current design of gubernatorial elections on these two pillars. The main findings show that while direct gubernatorial elections formally affirm popular sovereignty, their implementation is faced with various juridical and political challenges such as money politics, dynastic politics, and party cartelisation that significantly delegitimized the essence of such sovereignty and undermine the effectiveness of local governance. The comparative analysis offers a spectrum of subnational local government election models, from direct elections to parliamentary appointments, whose success depends largely on the socio-political and constitutional context of each country. Based on these findings, the research recommends a series of multi-faceted reforms that touch not only on the electoral mechanism, but also on campaign finance regulation, political party institutional strengthening, and electoral law enforcement, in order to realise an ideal gubernatorial election design capable of strengthening the quality of democracy and the effectiveness of local governance in Indonesia.

Purpose. This study investigates the deconstruction of the librarian’s role in the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) at university libraries, specifically at Universitas Negeri Padang (UNP), through Jacques Derrida’s social theory. Librarians are expected to act as key connectors between users and credible information. With the increasing presence of AI in libraries, their role becomes even more critical in enhancing the quality and accessibility of information services.
Methodology. This research employs a qualitative approach using the literature study method, with data collection conducted through reference sources, reading, note-taking, and processing research materials
Results and discussion. At the UNP Library, the librarian’s role is shifting due to digitalization and AI development. Although facilities like Digilib UNP and SIDARING have been introduced, they are not yet fully optimized. The opening of the new Information and Library Center building provides opportunities for innovation, but a deconstruction of traditional librarian roles is needed. Librarians should not be limited to administrative tasks but encouraged to implement AI-based services such as virtual library tours, chatbots, and speech-to-text systems. Domestic and international case studies confirm that AI integration enhances user engagement and service delivery, requiring librarians to be adaptive, creative, and technologically competent.
Conclusions. Applying Derrida’s deconstruction theory, the librarian’s role at UNP must be redefined to meet digital-era demands. Main challenges include resistance to change and lack of technical skills. With a transformative approach, librarians can collaborate and innovate using AI, making library services more inclusive, dynamic, and relevant for modern academic needs
