REFLECTION AS A WAY TO FORM THE LEARNING COMPETENCE OF FUTURE PRE-SCHOOL TEACHERS
Problem of the research: what reflective technic strategies do the teachers use in their work in order to achieve a quality of teaching and which of them they recommend to their students for learning; what reflections do the students use? Aim of the research: to find out how the students use the reflective methods in the learning process, when improving their learning and what approach to the learning in the long-life perspective is. Objectives of the research: to reason the importance of reflection in the education process. To determine the students’ and teachers’ approach to the usage of reflection in the education process. Methods of research: analysis of documents and scientific literature, content analysis, written survey. The research has shown: The teachers and students positively evaluate the usage of the reflection method in their activity. Reflection is a good device for seeking of education quality. During this process the students overtake the teachers’ experience, develop their competences by getting the consultations. During the consultations the teachers give relevant information about the usage of the most effective learning methods in the study process. The students actively use some of the reflection types, most of which are rarely used. This indicates that in the study process not all the possibilities that could improve the learning process are used
SOFT SKILLS FORMATION THROUGH THE PRISM OF UNIVERSITY STUDENTS’ VIEW: ANALYSIS OF SURVEY RESULTS
Fundamental changes in the educational paradigm of the Ukrainian education modern system have led to a revision of the process of improving the university students’ professional training. The issue of students’ soft skills formation as mandatory for the diversification of career opportunities in the labor market is relevant. Unification with European standards has led to the necessity to fill the new content of university education to ensure personal development and self-development of future professionals in the course of mastering fundamental and special disciplines and the soft skills formation, which determines the novelty of the issue. The purpose of the study was to carry out a theoretical analysis of the problem of students’ soft skills formation and empirical study of the students’ attitude (pedagogical specialty) of Ukrainian universities to this process in the context of preparation for their future career. The main method was a survey conducted by respondents filling out an author’s questionnaire “What is an ideal preschool teacher?” in electronic form on the online platform Google. Students of the specialty 012 “Preschool Education” of the first (bachelor’s) level of higher education (1‒4 years of study) from 2 Ukrainian universities (n = 191) were included into the sample. The results were processed both quantitatively and qualitatively and demonstrated that students are aware of the need to form soft skills in preparation for their own professional activities. However, more emphasis was placed on them by senior respondents, who, having mastered a large number of specialized subjects and had various types of educational practices, realized the importance of developing skills (soft skills) for personal growth. In this regard, changes are needed in the educational and professional curriculum of the first (bachelor’s) level of higher education, where it is important to outline the task of students’ soft skills formation as a mandatory component of future professionals’ training to meet the requirements of today’s labor market
HIDDEN POTENTIAL OF CHILDREN’S ART EXHIBITIONS AND THEIR IMPACT ON THE INCREASE IN TEACHER’S SELF-EFFICACY
A key element contributing to the quality of teaching in all educational areas is teacher’s belief in their professional competencies. The paper describes the impact of high or low teacher’s self-efficacy beliefs on the quality of their teaching, as well as the ways to promote self-efficacy. We see a gap in knowledge regarding the issue of whether kindergarten teachers are able to recognise the sources of self-efficacy offered by their practice. The aim of the research was to find out whether teachers can use the potential of children\u27s art exhibitions to strengthen their teacher’s self-efficacy, not only to present children\u27s art works. A qualitative approach has been applied to the research that involved 30 kindergarten teachers awarded for an excellent level of art education. The research has shown that even the most highly qualified teachers benefit from the exhibition in terms of being professionally inspired and motivated. These are mainly self-efficacy supports in the category of vicarious experience and social persuasion. The impact of perceived personal well-being is also very significant. These findings highlight the importance of self-evident activities, such as the presentation and exhibition of children\u27s art works. They can thus serve as a guide in the conception of exhibitions and conscious support for teacher’s self-efficacy.
BACKSTROKE TEACHING METHODS IN HEALTHY CHILDREN WITH RESIDUAL PRIMITIVE REFLEXES
There are studies suggesting that primitive reflexes can remain active in healthy children. Formal backstroke teaching is a part of many aquatic curriculum program. Even though the links with a problem during swimming learning with retained primitive reflexes were mentioned, there are no studies about effect of different backstroke teaching methods in healthy children with residual primitive reflexes. Aim of the study is to define the effect of teaching methods for backstroke in healthy children with residual primitive reflexes. Subjects: 6-7 years old healthy children with residual primitive reflexes. Methods: A part practice backstroke teaching method for the first group (12 children) has been focused on teaching of separate components (leg kicks, arm pulls, and breathing) before fitting them together, while another 12 participants in second group learnt backstroke separate components of arm-to-leg integration before combining them together inside of cycle. After 12 weeks of practice backstroke proficiency and heart rate during maximal continuous backstroke swimming were analyzed. The obtained results show significant differences between the two groups. The results of the second group are linked with better backstroke proficiency, significantly longer swimming distance and lower heart rate during swimming.
TRUE AND HOLOGRAPHIC KNOWLEDGE
The article deals with the direction of philosophy - epistemology, it is a study of knowledge and cognition. The main aspects of epistemology are the dimensions of knowledge, the sources of knowledge and the reliability of knowledge. The education system deals with the acquisition of knowledge, the use of various sources of knowledge and the reflection of the reliability of knowledge in curricula. Learning content includes knowledge that helps to find, create and use new knowledge. Modern curriculum requires a review of all school knowledge, conceptual and factual apparatus of school education. Mankind has accumulated a tremendous amount of knowledge. Essential preconditions for the selection of educational content: that the acquired knowledge covers the basics of various sciences; so that the curriculum covers different types of knowledge; that the student acquires knowledge from different sources of knowledge and uses different dimensions of knowledge; so that in order to explain the processes taking place in the universe, the student uses the true knowledge, which is formed on the laws of eternal harmony, is structured and maintains the whole of the world. The topicality of the article is related to the modern study content, which is based on true structured knowledge. The aim of the article is to review the content of the curriculum so that students have access to quality knowledge that is organized in a system and considered as a whole, and explains the processes taking place in the world
FACTORS THAT IMPACT PARENTAL SUCCESS IN SUPPORTING CHILDERN’S DISTANCE LEARNING
Distance learning unexpectedly arrived to Russian schools in March 2020, schools and teachers were not ready for this training type. The aim of present paper is to collect and evaluate parents’ view on family preparedness to distance education and on parents’ and children’ coping with school assignments during the lockdown. 304 parents were interviewed. The data provide evidence that the higher level of parental education is a factor in the efficient distance learning of their children. The higher level of parental education correlates with fewer children in the family, with the time spent by children on home assignments and the number of devices per family member. It was demonstrated that mothers lived through this period more easily than fathers. We found that the parents with a PhD degree provided the most effective support. It could be assumed, that studies at higher education institutions require time management. Having learned this skill, parents with higher education know how to self-organize and teach their children the same. Then, if our schools switch to remote teaching even partially, special guidelines with step-by-step explanations of the material shall be developed for parents. Furthermore, online counselling can be arranged for parents to present the course structure and the sequence of educational activities.
STRESSORS OF THE STUDY PROCESS, THEIR EMPIRICAL RESEARCH AT RĒZEKNE ACADEMY OF TECHNOLOGIES
This scientific article presents a theoretical review of stress factors of young students and the results of empirical research of these factors at the Rezekne Academy of Technologies. The need for such research is justified by International studies (n=540 000), in which was found that the study process causes high level of stress in 37% of students. The results of other studies in different countries also show that the prevalence and severity of mental problems among students is increasing. Overall, these studies indicate that students are increasingly experiencing symptoms of increased anxiety and stress, as well as depression. Thus, increase in student stress levels and related deterioration of students\u27 psychological well-being is a major challenge in today\u27s higher education institutions. Taking into account the mentioned findings, the aim of this article is to identify the most common stress factors in the study process at the Rezekne Academy of Technologies. The analysis of scientific literature and empirical results were used as basic methods in the development of the article.
DETAILING AND GENERALIZING THE MOTIVES FOR SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH OF STUDENTS OF HIGHER EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS
In the article, the authors paid attention to the issues of identifying and detailing the motives of students of higher educational institutions for scientific research during their studies. Based on the generalization of the opinions of the authors who participated in the development of this problem, and the results of their own research, the authors of this article at the initial stage of the study analyzed and summarized the conclusions of scientists about the totality and detail of the above-mentioned motives. Further, the authors of this article justified a holistic set of interrelated motives that encourage students to engage in scientific research in addition to their current academic and other activities. In the process of studying the motives, the authors identified factors that represent a generalized grouping of motives for students\u27 scientific research. Grouped motives, considered as motivational factors, can generally be considered as forces that encourage students to engage in the type of activity under consideration, namely: scientific research. The motivation factors that the authors reasonably propose to consider as determining the motivation of students for research activities are: the need for self-realization; reflection; social utility; professional interest; remuneration; social interaction; satisfaction from the process and the result. Each of the factors is justified and logically connected with the corresponding motives. This grouping is presented in tabular form and, as mentioned earlier, contains the rationale for the elements included in it.The identified factors and related motives can serve as a basis for the development of a survey material to assess students \u27 motivation for research activities
DIGITAL PEDAGOGICAL COMPETENCIES OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION TEACHERS
The global COVID-19 pandemic has changed the education system. The use of modern information technologies in the educational process and the introduction of distance learning are becoming more and more relevant. These requirements began to apply to academic disciplines, which a priori are difficult to teach online, in a quarantine situation. Physical education is such a discipline. Requirements for teachers are increasing. The teacher must have digital pedagogical competencies in order to successfully teach this academic discipline in modern conditions. The purpose of this pilot study was to determine the level of formation of digital pedagogical competencies among physical education teachers working in institutions of higher and secondary vocational education. The research is based on the European model Digital Competence of Educators (DIGCOMPEDU). A questionnaire for identifying the formation of digital pedagogical competencies was developed on the basis of this model and tested in this study. Teachers were asked to assess, on a 5-point scale, the level of skills and experience in the application of information technologies in the educational process and in the organization of distance learning, as well as to provide specific resources with which they work.44 teachers of physical education from Pskov State University, College of Pskov State University and Velikie Luki State Academy of Physical Culture and Sports took part in this study. It was found that most of all physical culture teachers have formed the ability to work with search engines and knowledge in the field of information security. The skills to produce and use video and graphics content are the least developed. Also an important problem is the lack of experience in the implementation of distance learning among physical education teachers.Groups of teachers with different levels of formation of digital pedagogical competencies were identified using cluster analysis. Five such levels have been identified. The conducted research determines the problem that physical education teachers lack competence in the field of information technologies and their implementation in the educational process even with a mixed form of education (full-time form with elements of distance learning).
THE METHODICAL ASPECTS OF DISTANCE LEARNING FOR ART’S EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMMES
The article discusses the problem of methodical aspects integration in distance learning for Art’s educational programmes in Higher Educational Institutions (HEI). The relevance of research reflects the quarantine measures for the non-proliferation of coronavirus infection Covid19 in Art\u27s universities of Kazakhstan in current state of distance learning. The novelty of the research is the implementation of educational policy according to the Kazakhstani state program within the conditions of distance learning. The aim of research is to reveal the methodological aspects for training Art students within distance learning in accordance with the topical problems in education, based on the new technologies and methods of digitalization. Primary methods of research are based on Case studies, which include theoretical review of the practical application of the MOODLE platform into distance learning.
