    Get PDF
The features of using Role-playing games in educating students - prospective teachers are considered. In practical classes on teaching methods of various disciplines, Role-playing games are often used, associated with conducting a fragment of a lesson or a full lesson. Typically, these practical classes are organized on an empirical level. The version of the Role-playing game "Observing Mathematics Lessons", developed on the basis of the theory of contextual learning, is presented. Psychological and pedagogical principles: simulation of specific conditions, game modelling of the content and forms of professional activity, collaborative activities are used in the design of the game. These principles are the basis for creating a game model, which consists of: game goals, a set of roles that indicate the functions of the player, the scenario and the rules of the game. The simulation model contains: didactic goals, the subject of the game and the evaluation system. An important difference developed by the Role-playing game is to take into account the personality types of students - participants in the game. Students with personality types typical for STEM students were selected for the role of "good pupil”. The roles of the "bad pupils" were played by students with personality types typical for students who usually do not have academic success in mathematics. A survey has been conducted, which showed that the proposed Role-playing game enable the simulation of the real situation of an observing mathematics lesson

CRITERIA AND INDICATORS OF THE DEVELOPMENT OF MUSICIAN’S TIMBRE HEARING

    Get PDF
Musical practice constantly lays down requirements to a musician’s hearing. An important tendency of a contemporary musical thinking is the intensification of the timbral beginning, which now starts to come to the foreground as one of the most significant expressive and form-developing means. Timbre hearing is one type of harmonic hearing (Teplov, 1947) and one of the most essential components at teaching a contemporary musician’s hearing, though in the teaching practice it has not been adequately reflected as yet. The development of the ability of hearing to perceive the expressive sense of a timbre sounding is a vital condition for achieving professionalism in a musician’s musical-performing activity. The precondition for a successful development of musical hearing, including that of timbre, is the process of diagnosticating its actual developmental level, which will help a teacher to organize a student’s musically-practical activity. The paper offers criteria and indicators for identifying the developmental level of musician’s timbre hearing.Research Aim: to study the theoretical basis of timbre hearing and to develop criteria and indicators of its development.Research methods: monitoring, modelling.

    Get PDF
The issue of a human person, and his/her development, and particularly in connection with a social sphere is extremely relevant for our times. In psychology, this issue has been developed through developmental periods, theories of personality identity and conditions that contribute to a self-actualization of an individual. In this regard, interest is how these ideas evolved in the process of cultural and historical development of humankind, how they were understood by previous generations of scientists and philosophers, how theoretical views of past generations are interpreted by the researchers of our time. This determined the objectives of this research. The authors applied the method of content analysis of the text with the aim to discover the concept of an ideal, or perfect person in works of Aristotle, to compare this concept with the corresponding views of Plato, to determine the influence of Aristotle\u27s concept of an ideal person on modern theories of personality. The research method is a content analysis of works of Aristotle and research done by the authors that reflect a philosophical heritage of the Greek thinker. As for both, Plato and Aristotle, the soul is the basis of life and the source of human activity. For Plato the soul appears to be an indivisible and immortal entity, then for Aristotle it has its own structure. Human soul is capable of development and improvement. The main condition for improvement, according to Plato, are correct actions of a person from the point of view of law and public opinion.  Aristotle believes that in this process, education and upbringing plays major attention. Aristotle\u27s ideas today are being developed in a deep and humanistic psychology and developmental psychology

    Get PDF
This article analyzes one of the most important and, simultaneously, the most problematic factors in the development of adult education as the implementation quality of Non-formal Adult Education (hereinafter NAE) at the local government level. The aim of this article is to reveal the understanding of Lithuanian municipal non-formal adult education coordinators about improving the quality of non-formal adult education services. The study has centered on a focus group (12 people) in which Lithuanian non-formal adult education coordinators from different municipalities discussed and shared their diverse opinions. According to the focus group participants, the quality assessment of educational services in local communities is required by the institutions or foundations financing the services, which at the same time indicate the criteria for assessing the quality of services and their fulfillment when reporting on the implementation of educational services. According to the participants of the study, Lithuanian municipalities should have more power in decision making on planning educational programs and services to meet the needs of the local population; they should expect stable funding guarantees from state institutions, which must first and foremost be interested in improving non-formal education services quality assessment.

This study assessed the relationship between students’ growth goals and perceived opportunities to achieve these goals in Latvia and the perceived support from the university and the mesosystem. Socialization models emphasize that the setting of personal goals occurs in continuous interaction with the sociocultural context, which includes perceived opportunities to achieve these goals and the interpersonal environment. Both – perceived support from close people (mesosystems) and perceived support from the university – are significant for students. The study involved 432 university students between 18 and 49. We have assessed the extent to which students’ goals regarding education, work, and personal growth are predicted by perceived opportunities to achieve these goals in Latvia and by the perceived support from parents, relatives, friends, classmates, teachers, and the university as an institution. The results of structural equation modeling revealed that personal growth goals are positively predicted by all three elements - the perceived opportunities to achieve these goals and the perceived academic and mesosystem support. The support of the classmates was connected to the support of the mesosystem that indicates the importance of friendly relations among students. Students’ growth goals were the most closely associated with the perceived support in their specific environment – the university. In general, the results confirm the complex interaction of personal growth goals with the social and cultural environment in particular circumstances
