LINKING TEACHER PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT NEEDS WITH APPROPRIATE SOLUTIONS: INSIGHTS FROM AN INIATIVE IN LATVIA
International surveys have stated that each year teachers spend, on average, more than 10 days engaged in different professional development activities. The purpose for this investment in teacher professional development (TPD) is clear: teachers’ competence must develop according to changes in curriculum and 21st century requirements. In previous research we have developed a theoretical teacher competence framework, implemented it to identify teacher (N=263) groups competence gaps and professional development needs. The goal of this research is to link identified professional development needs related to the instruction of 21st century skills (criteria - instructional design, learning goals and feedback to students) with TPD solutions. This paper describes the development of a TPD model, based on evidence about teacher groups professional development needs, and its implementation in a school (N= 25 teachers). A TPD program, developed according to the model, combined face-to-face and online input workshops with collaboration in small groups to develop lesson plans. The topics of input workshops, (effective lesson design, lesson goals, effective feedback and reading comprehension) were chosen according to gaps, previously identified. To learn about appropriateness of the TPD model, the developed lesson plans, participant questionnaires and researcher field notes were analysed.

This paper presents and analyses results of a survey conducted at higher education institutions (universities, colleges) into perception of cybersecurity, online culture and hygiene during the present times of remote education.
HEALTH AND ITS IMPORTANCE IN THE FAMILY CARE, EDUCATIONAL AND SOCIALIZATION PROCESS ON THE EXAMPLE OF THE FUNCTIONING OF PROFESSIONAL FOSTER FAMILIES IN SZCZECIN
Health is in the area of analysis of many sciences, e.g. psychology, sociology, pedagogy or philosophy. Each of them presents health and its specificity in a specific way. The most frequently indicated dimensions of health are: physical, mental (including intellectual and emotional), social, spiritual and transcendent. Contemporary pedagogical concepts of health emphasize that they can be considered as: value, resource (wealth), means, aim, a concept emphasizing the benefits of being healthy. Attention is also paid to the health mandala and the eudaimonic concept of family health. Thanks to these concepts, health is part of family care, educational and socialization processes. Parents, the main implementers of integrated interactions, create, among others, health behaviors, attitudes or lifestyle of their children. The subject of the research was the course of care, educational and socialization processes in professional foster families functioning in the city of Szczecin. The aim of the research was to find out about the specificity of family care, educational and socialization processes. The activities of professional foster families in caring for: children\u27s health, their health attitudes and behaviors as well as health as a value in human life were especially emphasized. The research method was to triangulate the diagnostic survey method with the qualitative dimension of the case study. The technique used for the study was a questionnaire, in-depth qualitative interview and direct observation. The obtained empirical material was subjected to an in-depth quantitative and qualitative analysis with elements of interpretability of the data, however, efforts are being made to make a holistic diagnosis of the family. Axiologization of health attitudes in the surveyed families and making children aware of the need to take care of their own health on the basis of resources at hand are particularly significant for the armory.
USING THE POTENTIAL OF A TOY BOOK IN THE PREPARATION OF BACHELOR STUDENTS IN THE FIELD OF MATHEMATICAL EDUCATION OF PRESCHOOL CHILDREN
The article outlines the problem of using the potential of toy books in preparing bachelor students for purposeful work on the formation of mathematical concepts in preschool children and suggests the idea of organizing the creative activity of students to design toy books with mathematical content. The article contains an overview of classifications of toy books, pedagogically characterized and methodically described examples-constructs of various types of toy books created by bachelor students. The pedagogical potential of these constructs allows us in this work to consider a toy book as a means of mathematical education for preschool children. The purpose of the study is a theoretical description and empirical understanding of the advantages of using the potential of a toy book with mathematical content in the educational activities of a university for the development of creative thinking of future preschool teachers. To achieve the goal, the following methods were used: theoretical analysis of literary sources, Internet resources, analysis of statistical data and a pedagogical experiment. The results of the study showed difficulties in mastering the method of designing a toy book with mathematical content, revealed the preferences of future educators-educators in choosing one or another type of toy book that dominates in its content a mathematical topic and methodological features of its implementation in the presented design form. The conducted research and analysis of the results allowed us to obtain data on the importance of including in the process of training future teachers-educators a creative technique - the design of toy books with mathematical content.

FORMATION OF ETHICAL CULTURE OF INTENDING EDUCATORS IN THE EDUCATIONAL PROCESS OF HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTION
The study intends to expand a methodology of shaping intending educators’ ethical culture. The examples of effective techniques that were used in a teacher-training process are provided. Some samples of authentic pedagogical cases created by teachers and students are presented. The main stages of work on the formulation of the “Teacher’s Code of Ethics” are revealed. Such interaction methods as “Brain Storming”, “Decision Tree” are given. Fragments of the lesson “Pedagogical techniques in the structure of pedagogical communication of a teacher” are described, where students analyze videos on pedagogical topics, identify phrases that violate the ethical norms of the teaching profession and choose alternatives. The excerpts from the works of intending educators, where students reflect on the teachers’ functions and responsibilities, are analysed. A structured set of traditional (lectures, tutorials, laboratory classes) and innovative (brainstorming, role-playing, case studies, decision tree, pedagogical marathon, etc.) methods, which accelerate students’ gradual progress to the highest creative level of ethic culture is presented. Such organization of the educational process reflects the developmental changes from intuitive actions in different situations on the basis of initial ethics knowledge to the willingness of intending educators to work independently, guided by high-minded principles and norms in professional situations.
