VIOLENCE RISK ASSESSMENT IN PSYCHIATRY - LITERATURE REVIEW AND PRACTICE COMPARISON BETWEEN LATVIA AND GERMANY

    Get PDF
Evidence-based future community violence risk assessment is a crucial issue in psychiatry. It is a cornerstone of safeguarding the rights of persons with mental health issues. Authors aimed to analyse the modern methods of risk assessment in psychiatry and the current practice and legal framework. Authors undertook a scoped review of the literature with search terms related to future community violence risk prediction for mentally disordered offenders in Latvian, English, German, and Russian languages. Main difficulties in future community violence risk assessment are demonstrated via Latvia’s court decisions analysis. Marked differences were identified: there are no standardized methods available/registered in Latvia, therefore risks assessment is performed via clinical assessment only. In Germany, the risk assessment is performed via structured evidence – based risk assessment tools and clinical assessment; nevertheless, the choice of the assessment tool remains challenging.

The digital age is characterized by quickly evolving and rapidly growing information, which must be analysed and considered in decision-making. Therefore, it is strongly important to see the current state of business in real-time having opportunity to analyse historical data and to predict future changes. The research work is specific business field with own contexts, aims and KPI. As a result, there is need of a digital twin to effectively manage research activities too

Advanced technologies can improve the efficiency of business processes, but incorrect system implementation can also become a huge source of damage. Therefore, the issue of IT security is very important. The concept of IT security has many aspects. One of them is security risk analysis, which must be considered by each system developer. The article describes one of the risk analysis methods - the CORAS method. The goal of research was to complete the risk analysis of the loan comparison platform. As a result, the risk mitigation recommendations were developed

    Get PDF
Imagination development for pupils with mild mental disorders requires special attention and special pedagogical approach, because independent and creative thinking skills, initiative of creative activity cannot develop by itself; it is not a side effect of knowledge acquisition, it needs to be promoted and activated. The paper raises the issue of the importance of imagination development and opportunities for pupils with mild mental disorders during extracurricular activities, using non-traditional drawing techniques. The paper provides information about the collection of non-traditional drawing techniques developed and approbated by S. Bogurdovicha

The reasons for leaving are mentioned is credit, debt, marriage with foreigner and many other reasons. Career guidance for remigrants have the task to help them to find a job that is consistent with their abilities and interests and helping to build a successful career

FROM RESEARCH SKILLS TO RESEARCHER’S TRANSVERSAL COMPETENCE

Different intellectual traditions imbedded in cultural and education settings and theoretical approaches to the understanding of skills, competencies, and transversal skills bring about many uncertainties in the conceptualization of research skills and competencies; together with the social demands towards the quality of graduates\u27 competencies these draw heavily on the changing process of education, quality of educational provision, and interferes with the quality of the graduates’ achievements. Doctoral students usually face a large number of theoretical sources to analyze and make an appropriate theoretical underpinning of research; they also have to meet the uncertainties, experience incompetence that interferes with the allocated time and quality of investigation. While the shift to competence approach in education is thus more complex than many accounts suggest, it does have major implications for important aspects of studies and educators\u27 work. This article aims to initiate doctoral students\u27 thinking of the cultural background of different intellectual traditions in education and identify the most appropriate theoretical sources for their research. The article does not, however, provide final definitions or completed ideas. Based on the experience of the most popular projects in skills’development and theoretical analysis the published considerations might trigger new problems for doctoral students’ investigation and start their navigation in the enormous pool of literature. The article introduces some approaches to understanding and defining research skills, researcher’s competencies, and researcher’s transversal competencies, their structure, and experiences of measuring.

FORMING OF SOFT COMPETENCIES EDUCATIONAL PROCESS MANAGEMENT CHANGES (DISTANCE EDUCATION)

    Get PDF
The impetus and innovative idea for research was the rapid transformational changes in society. These changes were expressed in the experimental search activities of the development in education and other social and humanitarian sciences, which are now taking place in the world in connection with the COVID-19 pandemic and the maximum distanceization of processes, including educational ones. The authors concluded that these changes concern: teaching methods, organization and management of educational processes. In practical teaching, the authors noticed the peculiarities of soft competencies formation in distance learning. Unlike knowledge, soft competencies are formed in social interaction. It is completely different in content and forms of construction in online education than in the offline one. These changes in educational transformations and management of educational processes take place due to fundamental transformations under the influence of: scientific and technological progress, global security challenges, wide access to information, significant part of life virtualization, restructuring of the axis of the teaching paradigm, etc.The main idea of the article is focused on changes of soft competencies formation as they are understood in distance learning; also it was emphasized the changes, necessary for successful teachers\u27 work management in this area. Research methods: general scientific (analysis, synthesis, collection of information, expert opinions, forecasting and modeling), special scientific (analysis of changes in law, recommended practices, observation, authors\u27 own practice and fixation in changes in the educational results of their students)

DEVELOPMENT OF DIAMONOLOGICAL COMPETENCE OF FUTURE PRIMARY SCHOOL TEACHERS IN THE PROCESS OF PROFESSIONAL TRAINING

The implementation of active forms and methods of group interaction in the educational process is recognized as a perspective means of developing future teachers’ communication. From the authors’ standpoint, it is necessary to re-evaluate the developmental potential of such specific methods as discussion methods (group discussion, analysis and commentary of situations); play methods (role-, director-, and counterplays) and play psychotherapy, trainings of interpersonal sensitivity, personal growth, techniques of non-verbal interaction and others. The topicality of such re-evaluation is caused not only by the reform processes in the education system of Ukraine, but also by the modern challenge to the whole system of world education - the need for large-scale implementation of distance forms of the educational process organization in connection with the pandemic situation. The survey of future primary school teachers conducted by the authors, indicates a low readiness of modern teachers to use active teaching methods for training schoolchildren of different age groups, to organize speech interaction with students based on emotional involvement in work, critical re-evaluating of self-position, frank and reasoned expression of thoughts and feelings. In this regard, the issues of the development of diamonological competence of the higher education institutions students acquire additional relevance in the pedagogical discussion.

IMPORTANT FACTORS FOR MORE EFFECTIVE LEARNING OF MATHEMATICS

    Get PDF
Mathematics is an important and complex subject, and research in the field of neuroscience shows that 50% of people have a fear of mathematics. However, it is a subject that students will need for the rest of their lives. Educators recognize that every student needs an individual approach, but the teaching methods are still the same for the whole class. The poor results in mathematics also suggest that students\u27 perceptions and interests have changed, and that old teaching methods are no longer as effective as before and that new solutions need to be invented. The aim of the research is to identify important factors that are necessary for more effective learning of mathematics in general education schools. Qualitative research methods were used for the research strategy - in-depth interviews, focus group discussions, surveys of pupils and students, information analysis in the media, pedagogical and business experience, as well as world success stories. As a result of the research, the following have been identified: 1) problems that were identified using the distance learning during the Covid19 pandemic; 2) students\u27 wishes that arouse interest in mathematics; 3) the interests of students, which indicate the need for interdisciplinary approaches; 4) advantages of artificial intelligence (AI) in education. The study points to the necessity for collaboration between educators, industry professionals, entrepreneurs and researchers, and for AI solutions to create deeper, faster and more personalized learning of mathematics in general education schools in the future, increasing the growth of every student
