ANALYSIS OF LEGO BRAND COMMUNICATION FOR THE AUDIENCE OF CHILDREN IN SOCIAL MEDIA
Social media have become not only a platform for contacts among individuals but also a channel through which companies can maintain constant two-way feedback with consumers. Companies around the world become increasingly aware of the potential of children in the market and increase their communication with the children\u27s audience. The ability to influence a child’s choices through communication via social media could give companies an opportunity to increase their sales. The aim of the research is to assess the elements of social media communication for the LEGO brand and their influence on children’s audience in Latvia. The research concluded that nowadays it is important for a company to identify the right target audience, and only then, based on the company’s strategy, consider the need to use specific tools available in social media. By focusing their communication on children, companies also need to build a parallel relationship with their parents to make sure that the brand is relevant, safe and committed to the values that are relevant to the audience. Nowadays it is fruitful to focus on video content that creates a sense of presence and reality. LEGO is a good source of inspiration for companies in Latvia that want to create a strong brand story, thereby increasing their visibility through communication via social media. The research aim was achieved by identifying the theoretical basis, analysing the communication marketing activities of the LEGO brand focused on children, as well as conducting structured expert interviews and performing a content analysis
CULTURALLY RESPONSIVE TEACHING OF IMMIGRANTS IN ADULT EDUCATION: A CASE STUDY IN SWEDEN
Adult education has been criticized for its lack of focus on sociocultural aspects of individual learners, largely ignoring the importance of cultural identity to the learning process. The article’s aim is to investigate culturally responsive teaching of immigrants in adult education, theoretically and empirically underpinning the implementation of a case study for the elaboration of implications on culturally responsive teaching of immigrants in adult education. Research methods include theoretical and empirical methods. Theoretical methods imply analysis of theoretical sources and theoretical modelling. The empirical study was based on a case study. The sample was composed of 20 adult learners and three teachers of Swedish in May 2019 and February 2020. The case study was implemented at Folkuniversitetet, Kristianstad, Sweden. The theoretical findings allow defining religion and human comfort conditions such as thermal comfort as the dimensions of cultural norms and values to be addressed by culturally responsive teaching of immigrants. The findings of the empirical study allow drawing the conclusion on the necessity of a personalised approach to an adult learner in culturally responsive teaching of immigrants. The novelty of the present work is revealed in the implications on culturally responsive teaching of immigrants. Further research is proposed
WHY DID THEY NEED TO COME NOW? COVID-19 CRISIS STRAINS RELATIONSHIPS WITH RETURNING AND VISITING COMPATRIOTS
One of the first areas severely hit by the Covid-19 pandemic was international travel. In March/April, with commercial flights coming to a near halt, the governments were struggling to help their stranded citizens to return home. Extra flights and ferry trips were organised, and the opportunity to return was used by many emigrants worried about the uncertainty and the possible future development of the pandemic. This paper containing both data collected through survey and in-depth interviews with people aged 50+ in Latvia, is the first to explore the reactions of the society to repatriation policy implemented by the government of Latvia, and to explore how the Covid-19 situation has affected the attitudes towards return migrants in general. Importantly, it demonstrates how education moderates these attitudes. The results show that most of the population consider returning migrants as a significant source of infections, and many had doubts if they follow self-isolation and other rules responsibly. Those with the higher education were in general more supportive of the repatriation policy demonstrating the importance of education and explaining difficult decisions in order to reduce tension and fear.
POSSIBLE FUTURE DEVELOPMENT DIRECTION OF AMUSEMENT PARKS IN LATVIA
Amusement parks have grown rapidly in Latvia over the last 20 years. The development of Latvian amusement parks is determined by several factors related to the economic, political, geopolitical and international market situation. According to the CSB data, the country has a population of 1.9 million and a total of 14 amusement parks or companies providing attractions and entertainment. Part of the problem that the authors emphasize in the paper is that in Latvia, data on amusement parks are not collected separately, but are included in overall data on the tourism industry. This topic has been little studied in all Baltic countries. The topicality of the research relates to the future directions of sustainable development of Latvian amusement parks, which would add value to the growth of this industry. The aim of the research study is to determine the possible directions of development of amusement parks and their main influencing aspects, which determine the future development of these aspects
OPTIMAL DATASET SELECTION FOR TRANSFERLEARNING
The proposed article describes transfer learning and Earth Mover’s Distance (EMD) methodology application in machine learning. The goal was to find out the shortest distance among three datasets in order to identifyt dataset, which is more suited for neural network pretraining. The experiment was completed using Python programming language and Jupyter Notebook. Neural network pretrained on ImageNet dataset was applied as feature extractor. The extracted feature vectors of datasets were applied to calculate the minimal distance using EMD algorithm

JETPACK COMPOSE AND XML LAYOUT RENDERING PERFORMANCE COMPARISON
The aim of the work is to find out the rendering performance of new Google Android user interface framework “Jetpack Compose”. Author has built two applications for Android platform with identical user interfaces: one uses classic approach with Kotlin + XML layout file, another application is developed using Jetpack Compose. BIOINDICATION AS AN ECOLOGICAL MONITORING METHOD IN REZEKNE CITY
The article discusses methods of air bioindecation using lichens and the condition of needles in conifers. Monitoring methods and air quality are described. Methods of methods for analyzing air by studying lichen on trees are described, three methods are considered and used in studies, and the method for assessing air quality by the state of needles of coniferous trees is also used in studies. As a result of the study, the air quality in the city of Rezekne was assessed. According to the results of the study, the air quality in most of the city of Rezenke is low pollution
IMPACT OF NO TILL TEHNOLOGY ON SOIL REGENERATIVE PROCESSES AND WEEDINESS

APPLE SCAB EARLY STAGE RECOGNITION USING RGB COLOR MODEL FILTERS
The goal of the study is to develop a RGB color model filter that helps highlighting apple scab in its early stages. It is necessary to identify the apple scab because understanding the problem early can save the apple tree from getting damaged further.
