Cross-Border Inequality between Indonesian Papua and Papua New Guinea: A Developmental State Perspective
This study examines the causes of cross-border inequality between border communities in Papua and South Papua provinces Indonesia and Sandaun and Western provinces of Papua New Guinea (PNG) through the lens of development theory and the concept of the developmental state. Using a qualitative-descriptive methodology, this study posits that the inequality existing between Indonesian and Papua New Guinean border communities is caused by the large investment and state capacity committed by the Indonesian government in developing its border communities compared to the Papua New Guinean government’s smaller level of economic investment and state capacity in developing its peripheral border regions. Furthermore, this study suggests that this existing inequality can be solved by encouraging state capacity building and investment in border communities in partnership with the private sector in the Papua New Guinean side of the border
Online Shopping Behavior of Fishermen in Popisi Village, Banggai Laut Regency, Central Sulawesi
This study examines the transformation of consumption practices among fishing communities in Popisi Village, Banggai Laut Regency, Central Sulawesi, particularly in relation to the adoption of online shopping platforms. Traditionally characterized by subsistence-oriented livelihoods, limited education, and restricted access to markets, fishermen in Popisi Village are increasingly exposed to digital technologies that reshape their economic and social behavior. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, this research explores patterns of online shopping behavior, types of products purchased, platforms and payment methods used, as well as the motivations underlying these practices. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation involving twelve informants consisting of fishermen, fishermen’s wives, and individuals directly engaged in online shopping activities. The findings reveal that approximately 35% of fishermen have begun using e-commerce platforms such as Shopee, Tokopedia, and TikTok, primarily to purchase clothing, household goods, electronic items, and fishing equipment that are difficult to obtain locally. Online shopping is generally conducted selectively and situationally, particularly prior to religious holidays or during periods of higher income from fishing activities. Convenience, time efficiency, competitive prices, and access to diverse products emerge as the main motivations driving this behavioral shift. However, this digital adaptation remains constrained by unstable internet connectivity, limited digital literacy, and fluctuating household incomes that influence spending decisions. Overall, the study demonstrates that digitalization has initiated an early-stage transformation of consumption culture within the fishing community, reflecting both adaptive strategies toward modernity and persistent structural challenges. These findings highlight the need for improved digital infrastructure and targeted digital literacy initiatives to ensure that the benefits of e-commerce contribute positively to the long-term welfare and economic sustainability of coastal fishing communities
Saudi Vision 2030: Public Diplomacy Efforts Through Transfer of Top European Football Players to the Saudi Arabian League
Saudi Arabia is striving to reduce its dependence on state revenue derived from oil. In this effort, Saudi Arabia formulated Vision 2030, which serves as the framework for their economic reforms. This research aims to elaborate on Saudi Arabia\u27s public diplomacy efforts to introduce their economic transformation plan. To obtain accurate answers, this research employs public diplomacy theory using a qualitative descriptive method along with secondary data sources. The research findings indicate that Saudi Arabia conducts public diplomacy in three ways. First, the management of news related to Vision 2030 is carried out by an agency called the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), which is owned by the Saudi government. Second, creating an official website and social media for Vision 2030 that contains comprehensive information related to Vision 2030 so that it can be accessed by the general public. Then, Saudi Arabia will also host the Great Future Initiative Campaign, which will begin in May 2024 and is planned to last for 12 months, with the main goal of fostering a strong partnership between Saudi Arabia and the UK in the fields of economy and development, as well as potential sectors. Third, Saudi Arabia is building good relationships with important and influential actors, in this case, the top European players who have moved to the Saudi Pro League. Players like Cristiano Ronaldo are a major attraction that helps promote Saudi Arabia in general, as well as several tourism projects being undertaken by Saudi Arabia as part of Vision 2030.

Dari Dublin ke Ramallah: Analisis Tiga Level Masukan Dalam Pengakuan Irlandia atas Kedaulatan Palestina Pada Tahun 2024
Ireland’s long-standing position as one of EU’s most vocal members of Palestinian rights and statehood took a huge leap when it decided to recognize the state of Palestine on May 2024. However, Ireland is far from being considered an enemy of Israel, as both countries share diplomatic and economic ties for decades. Despite economic threats from Israel and limited support in Europe, Ireland firmly stood by its decision along with Norway and Spain. To understand this decision, Charles W. Kegley & Shannon L. Blanton has laid out a useful framework to analyse inputs contributing to a transnational actor’s foreign policy, which are: global conditions, its internal characteristics, and actor leadership. Using this framework, this article argues that leadership, particularly by Simon Harris and his party, Fine Gael was the key driver, grounded in past policy, diplomatic coordination, and the context of the 2024 early elections. This study concludes that several inputs contribute to this decision, namely; a global uproar against Israel’s military aggression in Gaza post October 7th, an ever-strong pro-Palestine tide in the Irish public, its small-state characteristics, and Simon Harris’ recent ascension to power.

Pendekatan One Health Dalam Peningkatan Akses Dan Kualitas Air Bersih Di Gereja Advent Kampung Bibiosi, Kabupaten Keerom
The main purpose of this activity to improve access and quality of clean water for the community around the Bibiosi Village Adventist Church, Keerom Regency, through the implementation of a One Health approach that integrates human, environmental, and social health aspects. Bibiosi Village faces serious problems related to limited clean water sources. Most residents still rely on river water and open wells that have high levels of turbidity and are contaminated with pathogenic microorganisms, especially Escherichia coli. This condition causes a high incidence of air-borne diseases such as diarrhea, skin infections, and digestive disorders. Low levels of clean and healthy living behavior (PHBS), limited infrastructure, and the habit of defecating in the open exacerbate the situation. This community service program uses a participatory approach by involving church congregation members, community leaders, housewives, church youth, and local health workers. The implementation of the activity is divided into four main stages, namely (1) socialization, (2) drilling and making wells, (3) installing air installations, and (4) implementing Reverse Osmosis (RO)-based water treatment technology. From a One Health perspective, this activity emphasizes the importance of the relationship between human, environmental, and animal health. Protection of air sources and waste management are part of an integrated health system.

Pengetahuan dan Keterampilan Dalam Pengawasan Kualitas Air Kolam Nila: Pelatihan Bagi Petani Ikan Skala Kecil
This activity aims to enhance the knowledge and skills of small tilapia fish farmers in Koya Timur which independently monitoring pond water quality. Ten farmers participated in the training, which included the presentation of materials on water quality parameters as well as hands-on practice using simple measuring instruments such as pH meters, DO meters, water thermometers, and ammonia–nitrite test kits. The methods used included interactive lectures, equipment demonstrations, field practice, and pre–post tests to evaluate participants knowledge improvement. The results showed a significant increase in participants understanding and technical abilities related to water quality monitoring. Farmers who previously relied solely on visual observation were now able to conduct standardized measurements, record the results in logbooks, and determine corrective actions such as feed adjustments, increased aeration, or partial water replacement. In addition, field practice in the farmers’ ponds provided real-life experience that reinforced their understanding of actual tilapia aquaculture conditions in the Koya Timur area. This activity had a positive impact on increasing farmers’ capacity to maintain water quality stability and prevent fish mortality due to poor water conditions. The training is expected to contribute to sustainable improvement of tilapia fish production in the Muara Tami District and serve as a model for future capacity building programs that can be replicated among other farming groups in the Jayapura region. THE EFFECT OF THE PROJECT BASED LEARNING MODEL ON THE LEARNING OUTCOMES OF HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS IN PASCAL\u27S LEGAL MATERIAL
This study aims to analyze the influence of the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model on the learning outcomes of high school students in Pascal\u27s Law material. The background of this research is the low level of students\u27 understanding of Pascal\u27s Law, which is often taught theoretically, so it is less contextual and can be applied. This study uses a quantitative approach with quasi-experimental methods and Pretest-Posttest Design of Control Groups. The research subjects were 11th grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Sei Bamban for the 2024/2025 academic year, with a total sample of 60 students, consisting of 30 students in the experimental class and 30 students in the control class, selected using purposive sampling. The research instrument consisted of a multiple-choice learning outcome test with 20 validated items and an observation sheet of student activities. The results showed that the average pretest scores of the two classes were relatively equivalent (experimental = 45.33; control = 45.17) with a significance value of 0.960 (>0.05), indicating no significant difference in initial ability. After treatment, the average post-experimental class score increased to 78.67, while the control class only reached 66.33. The t-test reveals a significant difference between the two classes (Sig. <0.05). Student activity in the experimental class was also recorded high, with an average of 79.97% in the active category. It can be concluded that the application of the Project-Based Learning model has a significant influence on improving student learning outcomes in Pascal\u27s Law compared to conventional learning. These findings reinforce previous literature on the effectiveness of PjBL as an innovative learning strategy that is able to connect abstract concepts with students\u27 real-life experiences
LITERATURE REVIEW: IMPROVING PHYSICS LEARNING OUTCOMES AND CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS OF STUDENTS THROUGH THE PROBLEM-BASED LEARNING MODEL
This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of implementing the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model in improving high school students’ physics learning outcomes and critical thinking skills. The research method used is a literature review by examining 50 relevant classroom action research (CAR) articles obtained from national journals and proceedings. The data were analyzed descriptively and qualitatively through a categorization process based on the research focus. The results of the study show that 28 articles (56%) focused on improving physics learning outcomes, 12 articles (24%) highlighted the development of critical thinking skills, and 10 articles (20%) integrated both. In general, the application of PBL has been proven to improve understanding of physics concepts, learning outcomes, and train students to analyze and evaluate problems critically. These findings confirm that PBL is an effective alternative learning strategy for improving the quality of physics learning in high school
UTILIZATION OF GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION SYSTEMS IN MAPPING MALARIA VULNERABILITY
To address the persistently high malaria cases, the Indonesian government has set a target of malaria elimination by 2030. One strategy implemented by the central government is to encourage the commitment of local governments, especially in highly endemic areas, in malaria control. Research that can support the government\u27s strategy to achieve the malaria elimination target needs to be continuously conducted and developed. One study that is highly relevant to the government\u27s malaria elimination program is mapping or zoning malaria vulnerability levels. Jayapura City itself is the second-highest area for malaria cases in Papua. According to a report from the Jayapura City Health Office, there were 28,648 malaria cases in Jayapura City in 2019 with an API of 92.55 per 1,000 residents. In 2020, there were 28,075 cases with an API of 89.35 per 1,000 residents. In 2021, there were 30,235 cases with an API of 99.49 per 1,000 residents. This condition also makes Jayapura City highly vulnerable to malaria. Therefore, mapping malaria vulnerability in Jayapura City is crucial. One technology that can be used to map malaria vulnerability is a Geographic Information System (GIS). The GIS used in this study was combined with specific methods. The method used in this study was Spatial Multi-Criteria Analysis (SMCA). The parameters used in this study were geology, NDVI, and land cover. Each parameter has its own weight and score. The results showed that the overall Jayapura City area has a high vulnerability class in the Slightly Vulnerable class. The Slightly Vulnerable class is most common in Muara Tami District, while the Not Vulnerable class is most common in North Jayapura District. Data on the distribution of malaria from 2021 to 2024 shows that Muara Tami District has the highest number of malaria cases. On average, the pattern of malaria distribution shows that the southern to eastern areas have a higher prevalence of the disease compared to the northern areas of Jayapura City. The results of the malaria vulnerability mapping model, case data, and the average distribution pattern of malaria cases indicate that the modeled data aligns with the actual data and case distribution pattern. This model still needs to be developed, particularly by adding parameters appropriate to the study area
