    Sustainability Assessment of Integrated Pest Management Rice Farms to Enchange Food Security in Kediri District

    As one of the regions with the potential to become a national food production center, Kediri District in East Java has initiated the implementation of an organic farming system. To ensure the long-term viability of this agricultural system, it is essential to assess its level of sustainability. The objective of this study is to conduct a sustainability analysis to ascertain the status of sustainability and optimization strategies for IPM rice farming in the district. The research was conducted in Kediri District, with samples of Sugihwaras Village and Pandantoyo Village, involving a total of 100 respondents. These respondents were then interviewed to measure the six dimensions and 51 attributes used in the study. The data was analyzed using Multidimensional Scaling (MDS) RAP-IPM, and a prospective analysis was subsequently conducted. The results indicate that the sustainability scores for each dimension are as follows: ecology (83.29), technology (78.21), policy (81.31), and institutional (79.31), which suggest a very sustainable status. In contrast, the social dimension (60.19) is moderately sustainable, while the economic dimension (38.92) is classified as less sustainable. The average value of all these dimensions is 70.2, which can be considered quite sustainable. Within each dimension, there are sensitive attributes that are related to its sustainable status. These attributes are a key factor in the formulation of implementation strategies to encourage food security in Kediri District. The prospective analysis of the key factors indicates that most of these factors are situated in Quadrant II, signifying a high level of influence and dependence. To promote resilience effectively and efficiently in Kediri District, it is essential to prioritize strategies that consider the pivotal factors within Quadrant II

    Kurik District is one of the rice centers in Merauke Regency, South Papua Province. From 2019 to 2023, the . If allowed to continue, it will result in food shortages. Therefore, it is necessary to identify factors that can increase rice production. This study aims to determine the factors that affect rice production and to determine the factors that have a dominant influence on rice production.  This research was conducted in Kurik District, Merauke Regency, from June to August 2023. The types of data used are primary data and secondary data. Primary data was obtained from interviews, questionnaires, and observations. Secondary data is obtained from B.P.S. and other literature. The number of samples in this study was 473 rice farmers in Kurik District, Merauke Regency. Factors affecting rice production in Kurik District of Merauke Regency are land variables (0.312), seed variables (0.179), fertilizer variables (-0.143), and labor variables (0.290), while the dominant factor affecting rice production in Kurik District of Merauke Regency is the land variable (0.312). In this study, the factors that influence rice production have low values. Therefore, it is necessary to research to find other variables that significantly influence rice production in Kurik District, Merauke Regency.

    Evaluation of Effects of Specific Bioactive Compounds in Plant, Propolis and Bee-Pollen on Crohn’s Disease: A Food Nutrition Approach

    Natural foods rich in bioactive compounds (BC) may provide an effective strategy for food and nutrition-based Crohn's disease (CD) management. However, their BCs’ alone and combined effects have not been explored sufficiently. This study aims to evaluate the impact of specific BCs in plants, propolis, and bee pollen on CD by in silico and in vitro techniques. For this, the plants suggested in a clinical database were screened in another curated therapeutic database to obtain specific BCs with therapeutic use identifiers. In contrast, those of propolis and bee pollen were obtained from previously conducted publications. The identified BCs were subjected to in silico molecular docking simulations (MDS) to determine their binding affinity scores (BAS) with aryl hydrocarbon receptor (Ahr). Of them, two with the highest affinity score (AS) and the other two with the lowest AS were selected. Their cytotoxic effects on HCT-116 Human colon cancer cells were tested by in vitro MTS assay, while up- and downregulating effects on Ahr-related CYP1A1, CYP1B1, IDO1, and IDO2 genes by real-time qPCR. The findings demonstrated that MDS studies determined the highest BAS with Ahr to be β-carotene (β-C) (-8.99 kcal/mol) and biotin (B) (-6.39 kcal/mol). In comparison, the lowest BAS was to inositol (I) (-5.34 kcal/mol) and niacin (N) (-5.32 kcal/mol), respectively. In vitro MTS assay demonstrated that N and I were cytotoxic on HCT-116 cells, while β-C was noncytotoxic. But B did not exhibit any significant effect. The gene expression test showed that β-C downregulated IDO1 and IDO2, while B downregulated IDO1 only. On the other hand, N downregulated both CYP1A1 and IDO2, whereas I downregulated CYP1A1 only. β-C and B in combination upregulated all genes, but N and I downregulated them. In conclusion, proper selection of BC may effectively moderate CD pathogenesis and management with its protective and anti-inflammatory properties. We therefore suggest food and nutrition-associated research at preclinical and clinical levels

    Perpustakaan memiliki fungsi kultural untuk menyediakan koleksi lokal sebagai wujud upaya melestarikan hasil budaya daerah. Sebagaimana yang dilakukan oleh Dinas Arsip dan Perpustakaan Daerah Kabupaten Banyumas dalam memproduksi buku local content Kumpulan Cerita Asal Usul & Sejarah Desa di Kabupaten Banyumas. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui, menganalisis, dan mendeskripsikan proses konsolidasi informasi local content yang diproduksi oleh Dinas Arsip dan Perpustakaan Daerah Kabupaten Banyumas. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu metode kualitatif deskriptif melalui pendekatan studi kasus. Pengumpulan data yang dilakukan bersumber dari proses wawancara dan studi dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan ialah thematic analysis (Braun & Clarke, 2006). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan lima langkah proses konsolidasi informasi yang dilakukan Dinas Arsip dan Perpustakaan Daerah Kabupaten Banyumas yang meliputi: 1) Perumusan gagasan konsolidasi informasi local content Kumpulan Cerita Asal Usul & Sejarah Desa di Kabupaten Banyumas berdasarkan identifikasi masalah kebutuhan informasi target pengguna; 2) Lomba penulisan asal-usul dan warisan bersejarah desa di Kabupaten Banyumas melalui tahapan pembentukan panitia lomba, pencarian dan pengumpulan informasi, analisis, verifikasi, dan evaluasi informasi cerita sejarah desa; 3) Penyuntingan naskah cerita asal-usul dan sejarah desa di Kabupaten Banyumas melalui tahapan analisis dan evaluasi, serta restrukturisasi cerita sejarah desa; 4) Penerbitan buku local content Kumpulan Cerita Asal Usul & Sejarah Desa di Kabupaten Banyumas yang disempurnakan dan dikemas ulang informasi dari cerita lisan sejarah desa menjadi buku; serta 5) Diseminasi buku local content Kumpulan Cerita Asal Usul & Sejarah Desa di Kabupaten Banyumas dengan cara pembagian buku ke setiap desa di Kabupaten Banyumas, serta feedback dan evaluasi terhadap buku dan kegiatan lomba

    Penerapan user education di perpustakaan sangat penting dilakukan sebagai langkah awal pengenalan perpustakaan bagi mahasiswa baru. Dengan adanya user education maka pemustaka diharapkan memiliki pengetahuan yang baik sehingga dapat memberikan kesan yang nyaman dan mandiri dalam memanfaatkan fasilitas perpustakaan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji bagaimana penerapan user education di UPT Perpustakaan Universitas Diponegoro melalui program library tour bagi mahasiswa baru angkatan 2024 Ilmu Perpustakaan dan Informasi Universitas Diponegoro dalam meningkatkan pemahaman mahasiswa baru terhadap pemanfaatan perpustakaan. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan meliputi wawancara dan studi dokumentasi yang membutuhkan 11 informan, serta menggunakan teknik analisis data tematik. Penelitian ini mengungkapkan bahwa penerapan user education di UPT Perpustakaan Universitas Diponegoro melalui library tour bagi mahasiswa baru Ilmu Perpustakaan dan Informasi angkatan 2024 Universitas Diponegoro, menunjukkan bahwa meningkatnya kemandirian pemustaka dalam pemanfaatan perpustakaan, sebagai sarana informasi sebagai pembentukan ulang persepsi perpustakaan dan pemilihan kualitas informasi sebagai kemampuan evaluasi. Pada penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan tersebut terbukti mampu membekali mahasiswa baru agar dapat memanfaatkan sumber daya perpustakaan secara mandiri. Dengan bertambahnya wawasan, mereka dapat membentuk persepsi positif terhadap perpustakaan kedepannya dan juga setelah mengikuti kegiatan tersebut kesadaran akan kredibilitas informasi sementara telah terbangun akan tetapi, dibutuhkan pengajaran secara mendalam

    Di era digital, perpustakaan dituntut menjadi pusat layanan informasi yang adaptif dan inovatif. Salah satu wujudnya adalah perpustakaan digital yang melengkapi fungsi perpustakaan konvensional. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengembangan koleksi perpustakaan digital iJateng oleh Perpustakaan Provinsi Jawa Tengah. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif studi kasus melalui wawancara, observasi, dan studi dokumen terhadap tiga pustakawan yang terlibat langsung. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengembangan koleksi dilakukan melalui enam tahapan, yaitu analisis masyarakat melalui usulan pemustaka, pengamatan fitur review dan statistik peminjaman pada aplikasi, seleksi bahan pustaka, pengadaan bahan pustaka melalui pembelian dari pihak ketiga serta upload koleksi mandiri koleksi yang memang diperuntukkan secara bebas, evaluasi tahunan, dan menerapkan strategi pengembangan koleksi untuk menyesuaikan minat masyarakat, serta kebijakan yang diterapkan masih mengacu pada sistem konvensional namun disesuaikan dengan konteks digital. Kendala utama meliputi keterbatasan Sumber Daya Manusia (SDM), peralatan, dan anggaran. Secara keseluruhan, pengembangan koleksi telah berjalan baik namun masih perlu dioptimalkan

    Analysis of the Healing Architecture Approach to the Gelora Bung Karno Sports Complex, Jakarta

    Jakarta faces significant urban challenges, including congestion, pollution, and a lack of green spaces, which negatively impact public health. The Gelora Bung Karno (G.B.K.) Sports Complex holds substantial potential to enhance physical and mental well-being by integrating healing architecture principles. This study identifies and analyses the architectural elements at G.B.K. that contribute to a healthier environment, such as natural lighting, green spaces, and environmentally friendly materials. The research initially employed a qualitative approach, collecting data through field observations and literature reviews. However, this updated approach incorporates quantitative methods by introducing measurable indicators for the effectiveness of healing architecture at G.B.K., using surveys and statistical analysis to assess user satisfaction and well-being. The findings suggest that integrating healing architecture in G.B.K. significantly enhances environmental quality and public health, making it a model for urban spaces in Jakarta. The discussion highlights the importance of natural elements, spatial design, and user-centred facilities in creating environments conducive to both mental and physical health. The study concludes that while G.B.K. effectively embodies the principles of healing architecture, further improvements in artificial lighting, thermal comfort, and user-specific spaces could elevate its role as a therapeutic urban environment. Recommendations include expanding green spaces, optimizing lighting systems, and enhancing public participation in developing G.B.K. to ensure its long-term sustainability as a healing space

    Energy Efficiency Improvement Through Pinch Analysis of Gas Phase Chlorination Process of Propylene

    Dependence on imports of raw materials such as allyl chloride amid the rapid development of the national chemical industry is the background for optimizing energy efficiency in the preliminary design of this 15,000 ton/year capacity plant. Given that the production process involves an exothermic gas phase chlorination reaction at extreme temperatures (510 K), the use of Pinch Technology is crucial to minimizing energy consumption. This study utilizes HINT software to identify heat and cold flows, set the most favorable ΔTmin temperature threshold, and formulate a Composite Curve to map the potential for heat integration in the system. The research shows that through the identification of pinch points; the Maximum Energy Recovery (MER) target can be achieved by integrating waste heat from the reactor outlet stream to independently heat the feed before it enters the furnace unit. The implementation of this optimized heat exchanger network has been proven to significantly reduce the use of external utilities, such as Dowtherm A and cooling water, which ultimately lowers the plant's total annual costs. Overall, the application of pinch technology-based heat management strategies is a fundamental step in strengthening the economic value and operational sustainability of allyl chloride production

    Energy Optimization of Ethylenediamine Production Process Using Pinch Technology

    This study presents a comprehensive energy optimization analysis of the ethylenediamine (EDA) production process using Pinch Technology methodology. EDA is a critical chemical compound widely utilized in pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, polymers, and chelating agents, with its conventional production process being inherently energy-intensive. The research employs HINT (Heat Integration) software to systematically evaluate energy consumption patterns, identify heat recovery opportunities, and design an optimal heat exchanger network for the EDA production system. The production process involves the catalytic reaction between monoethanolamine (MEA) and ammonia at 235 °C and 30 atm, followed by multiple separation and purification stages. Through pinch analysis, process streams were identified and evaluated, revealing significant opportunities for internal heat recovery. The baseline system without integration showed heating requirements of 734.546 kW and cooling requirements of 734.546 kW, totaling 1,469.092 kW of external utility consumption. The analysis determined minimum energy requirements of 439.578 kW for heating and 0.0 kW for cooling utilities, with a pinch temperature of 245 K at ΔTmin of 10 K. The optimized heat exchanger network, comprising eight heat exchangers with a hierarchical configuration (H1: 55.433 kW, H2: 349.878 kW, H3: 102.454 kW, H8: 226.771 kW), achieved a total energy recovery of 735.546 kW. Compared to the non-integrated base case, the implementation of heat integration strategies resulted in remarkable energy efficiency improvements: 31% reduction in heating utility consumption (from 734.546 kW to 509.898 kW), 37% reduction in cooling utility consumption (from 734.546 kW to 440.218 kW), and an overall external utility reduction of 35.3% (from 1,469.092 kW to 950.1164 kW), representing total energy savings of 518.9756 kW. These findings demonstrate that Pinch Technology provides a thermodynamically rigorous framework for achieving substantial energy savings in EDA production facilities, contributing to reduced operational costs, lower greenhouse gas emissions, and enhanced industrial sustainability

    Efektivitas Slow Deep Breathing terhadap Penurunan Tekanan Darah pada Lansia Penderita Hipertensi Primer

    Primary hypertension is the most common type of hypertension. Previous studies have proved the effect of slow deep breathing on reducing blood pressure however there was still limited study to examine the effect on primary hypertension particularly in elderly population. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of slow deep breathing exercises in reducing blood pressure among older adults with primary hypertension. A quasi-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest approach was used in this study. A total of 16 participants were selected through purposive sampling from the elderly population in a village in Lhokseumawe City. Researchers conducted slow deep breathing 15 minutes during 5 day and blood pressure was measured manually using a sphygmomanometer and stethoscope. Data analysis was conducted using the Wilcoxon signed-rank method. The analysis indicated a statistically significant reduction in average systolic blood pressure, decreasing from 153.8 mmHg to 135 mmHg, along with a decline in diastolic pressure from 90 mmHg to 83.8 mmHg (p < 0.05). These results indicate the effectiveness of slow deep breathing exercises in decreasing blood pressure and may serve as an adjunct therapy for hypertensive elderly individuals. It is recommended that hypertensive older adults regularly practice this exercise in addition to taking prescribed medications to support blood pressure control
