Complaints Regarding Trademark Crimes Against Trademark Holders and Consumer Protection
The background of this paper is the existence of illegal trademark infringement according to the Trademark and Geographical Indications Law on registered trademarks by other parties, especially for the same or similar goods or services that have the potential to mislead consumers. Referring to this, trademark crimes can only be reported as absolute offenses that can only be reported by trademark holders. The purpose of this study is to examine the mechanism of absolute offenses in the enforcement of trademark criminal law in Indonesia based on the Trademark and Geographical Indications Law, as well as its implications for the protection of trademark holders and consumers. This research is normative legal research with a legislative approach. The results of the study state that the initiation of criminal proceedings is entirely through the mechanism of absolute complaint offenses. However, these absolute complaint offenses have the potential to hinder the enforcement of trademark infringement laws, because the provisions of complaint offenses in trademark crimes are also not in line with the objectives of consumer protection as stipulated in the Consumer Protection Law. The conclusion obtained from this study is based on the theory of Roscoe Pound's balance and Pancasila Prismatics, it is necessary to re-arrange the absolute complaint offense from trademark crimes to relative complaint offenses. Thus, consumers as parties who are directly harmed by the circulation of counterfeit goods have the legitimacy to file a criminal trademark complain
Peningkatan Layanan di Laboratorium dengan Aplikasi POLAR (Portal Layanan Laboratorium Berbasis Mobile)
Laboratories function as essential academic support units for knowledge acquisition in the implementation of education, research, and community service; therefore, they require effective management and utilization. To enhance integrated laboratory services and management, the POLAR Application (Mobile-Based Laboratory Service Portal) was developed as an innovative solution. This application aims to improve the quality of integrated laboratory services by digitizing service data. Accessible features include the Integrated Chemical Management System (SIBAKI) and the Digitalization of Laboratory Instruments (DILab) utilizing QR Code technology. The POLAR Application is available for download via the Google Play Store and App Store and currently serves over 1,000 active users across various countries, including Indonesia, the United States, France, India, and Japan. The development process involved several stages: conceptualization and feature analysis, database and application structure design, frontend and backend coding, periodic system testing and debugging, and finally, the User Acceptance Test (UAT). This service improvement provides users with a modern, transparent system that synergizes directly with the community. Kelimpahan Gastropoda di Padang Lamun Pulau Menjangan Besar dan Pulau Kemujan, Karimunjawa
Gastropods are a group of fauna commonly found in association with seagrass beds. However, increasing anthropogenic activities have led to significant declines in seagrass ecosystems across Indonesia. The degradation of seagrass has become evident in recent years in the Karimunjawa Islands, particularly at Menjangan Besar Island (due to tourism activities) and Kemujan Island (due to residential and boating activities). This situation is concerning, as it may affect the presence of gastropods inhabiting these areas. This study aims to determine the abundance of gastropods and its relationship with seagrass density at Menjangan Besar and Kemujan Islands. Data collection was carried out in October 2024 using the transect-quadrat method to assess gastropod abundance and seagrass density. Furthermore, correlation and simple linear regression analyses were employed to examine the relationship between gastropod abundance and seagrass density at the study sites. The results indicated that total gastropod abundance at Menjangan Besar Island (10.42 ind/m²) was higher than at Kemujan Island (5.33 ind/m²). Similarly, total seagrass density at Menjangan Besar Island (79.15 ind/m²) was higher compared to Kemujan Island (37.33 ind/m²). The correlation between gastropod abundance and seagrass density at both locations was strong and positive, indicating that seagrass significantly influences gastropods in these ecosystems.
The mangrove ecosystem is characterized by high biodiversity and the production of various secondary metabolites with potential bioactive properties, making it a promising source of natural cosmetic ingredients. Phytochemical screening was carried out to detect the present of tannins, saponins, steroids, alkaloids, and flavonoids. Antibacterial activity was evaluated using disc diffusion method, while antioxidant activity was assessed through the DPPH assay. Seven species were identified in this study, namely Exoecaria agallocha, Laguncularia racemosa, Nypa fructicans, Bruguiera cylindrical, Amyema anisomeres, Ipomoea pes-caprae, and Acrostichum aureum. Phytochemical analysis revealed that saponins and tannins were present in most species, whereas alkaloids and flavonoids were specific to certain taxa. None of the tested extracts exhibited antibacterial activity against Eschericia coli. Antioxidant evaluation showed that Acrostichum aureum exhibited very strong activity (IC50 = 38,3 ppm), while Ipomoea pes-caprae and Laguncularia racemosa demonstrated strong antioxidant potential, and the remaining species ranged from weak to very weak activity. These findings indicate considerable variation in secondary metabolite composition and antioxidant capacity among mangrove species from Merauke, and suggest that Acrostichum aureum could serve as a promising natural source of antioxidants for the development of plant-based cosmetic formulations.

Nutritional and Health Status of Adolescents and their Determinants in the Coastal Areas of Maratua Subdistrict, Berau Regency, East Kalimantan, Indonesia
Introduction: Adolescence is a critical period of growth marked by increased nutritional needs and heightened susceptibility to health problems. This study aimed to analyze the nutritional and health status of adolescents and their determinants. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted among 47 tenth-grade students at SMAN 9 Berau, recruited through total sampling method. The data collected included anthropometry, blood pressure, hemoglobin levels, and urine tests. Behavioral and psychological factors were assessed using standardized questionnaires: nutrition knowledge, dietary intake (1×24-hour recall and food frequency), Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index, screen time, and the Depression Anxiety Stress Scale. Data were analyzed descriptively and using chi-square tests. Results: Most adolescents had a normal nutritional status (78%); however, a dual burden of malnutrition persisted, with undernutrition and overweight or obesity affecting over one-fifth of the participants. Dehydration was highly prevalent (89%) and was accompanied by significant cardiometabolic risks, including prehypertension (32%) and chronic energy deficiency risk (38%). Although the overall energy intake was adequate, the insufficient intake of key micronutrients, particularly protein, iron, and folate, remained common. Behavioral and psychosocial vulnerabilities were also prominent, with excessive screen time, poor sleep quality, and notable levels of stress and depression reported by more than half of the respondents. BMI-for-age was significantly associated with blood pressure, chronic energy deficiency risk, and nutritional knowledge (p < 0.05).Conclusion: Despite a predominantly normal nutritional status, adolescents remain at risk of the double burden of malnutrition, anemia, and micronutrient deficiencies. Strengthening school-based nutrition programs, including regular health screening, practical nutrition education, and improved access to micronutrient support through fortified foods or supplements, is essential for preventing long-term health problems
