A Study for Dental Caries Risk Factors on Rural School Children in Kediri, Indonesia
Dental caries incidence rate is still increasing. Therefore, research is needed to analyse dental risk factors. This study aimed to analyse dental caries risk factors in Indonesian school children. The study used a cross-sectional design and was conducted between March and April 2023 at SDN Mojo 1 Kediri, with participants in the age group 10-12 years. The questionnaire consisted of four main parts, including personal identity, demographics, oral health knowledge, oral hygiene habits, and the habit of consuming cariogenic foods. The intraoral examination (DMFT and deft index) was conducted after the questionnaire had been completed. The data were analysed using the SPSS software program with descriptive statistics and Spearman's Rho correlation test to determine the bivariate analysis between all variables. Knowledge of oral health, the habit of consuming cariogenic food, and the habit of maintaining oral hygiene were associated with the DMFT and deft index (p 0.05). This study revealed that the risk factors for dental caries in primary and permanent teeth in Indonesian school children, especially in rural areas, are the knowledge of oral health, the habit of consuming cariogenic food, and the habit of maintaining oral hygiene. At the same time, gender was not associated with the caries severity index, both in primary and permanent teeth
The Role of Digital Dental Radiography in Private Dental Clinic in Kirkuk, Iraq: Opportunities and Barriers in Disaster Victims Identification
Evaluating the count of X-rays in private dental clinics using extraoral digital X-ray in Kirkuk, Iraq, and its role in mass disasters—natural or man-made—assesses opportunities and barriers for use as antemortem data, especially in situations where other identification methods are impossible, excluded, or costly. The success of the identification process depends on the availability of well-preserved antemortem data and accessibility to that data. Three private dental centers in Kirkuk (Alpha1, Alpha2, Panoramic) were selected according to criteria such as use of the same digital X-ray equipment, availability of archived dental records, and consent for participation and site access.Data was collected from 2022 to 2024: only Alpha1 center was operational from August 1, 2022. Scan counts were 391, 305, and 345 annually, with steady population growth (1.05M → 1.10M). By 2025, in addition to Alpha1, Alpha2 and Panoramic centres were operating. Data collected until May 1, 2025, showed scan records reaching 1,668 — a 383% increase from 2024. There was a positive percentage change. The cumulative total number of scans reached 2,709. The cumulative percentage was 0.245 compared to the city center population of 1,128,000. Limitations of this study include a small sample size, lack of assessment of actual performance in a real disaster victim identification event, and the early start date of Alpha2 and Panoramic centres, so their data reflect only the initial implementation phase. The total number of X-rays represents a reference that can be used as antemortem data for disaster victim identification, especially in Kirkuk, Iraq. Availability of medical imaging infrastructure can directly and rapidly increase the amount of stored data and service provision, which is a vital resource during mass casualty events requiring disaster victim identification

The moderating role of user engagement on the influence of artificial intelligence on trust and satisfaction in social commerce
This study aimed to investigate the role of artificial intelligence in increasing trust and satisfaction in social commerce. The moderating role of user engagement was also explored to determine the influence of these two variables. A quantitative method employing a structural equation modeling approach was used to analyze a sample of 384 social commerce user respondents in Indonesia. The study involved two stages: a measurement model and a structural model. The results confirmed that artificial intelligence has a significant influence on trust and satisfaction, which in turn have implications for repurchase intention. User engagement also strengthened the relationship between artificial intelligence and trust, but not satisfaction. These findings suggest that optimizing artificial intelligence and enhancing user engagement are crucial strategies for digital businesses to foster trust, which in turn influences consumer repurchase intention. Increasing user engagement through engaging interactions and AI-based personalization can strengthen the influence of artificial intelligence on trust. These results provide new insights, particularly in social commerce, in positioning artificial intelligence not merely as a tool to facilitate consumers, but rather, the technology must be able to engage consumers to maximize its benefits
Urban Sprawl and Its Impacts on Land Cover Change in the Outskirts of the Surabaya Metropolitan Area
Development and economic growth in Indonesia have experienced rapid progress, followed by urbanization marked by the expansion of urban areas towards the outskirts, and have triggered urban expansion and land cover changes, especially on the outskirts of Surabaya City, and continue to expand to the Gerbangkertosusila area, which can indicate a decrease in Green Open Space (GOS). Given the important role of green open space in the sustainability of metropolitan areas, this study has three objectives. First, to analyze the impact of urban sprawl on GOS with spatial dynamics of land cover changes using Land Use Cover Changes (LUCC) analysis using ArcGIS software. Second, to identify spatial patterns of urban sprawl, and third, to calculate the index sprawl value to determine areas with urban sprawl impacts. The results of our study show that GOS has decreased in 25 years by 9.32%, and built-up area has increased by 8.27% of the total area of Gerbangkertosusila. The patterns of urban expansion that occur are Leap Frog Development, Ribbon Development, and Post- suburbia. The highest area expansion index value is in Sidoarjo at 4.74 and the lowest in Bangkalan at -7.62. The expansion of this area is marked by the development of settlements, industrial areas, and transportation routes, which result in the conversion of green open spaces into Built-up areas. Based on the analysis used in the Gerbangkertosusila area, the concept of Urban Growth Boundaries (UGB) is necessary; this concept effectively addresses urban expansion by establishing urban development permit policies

Demand For Strategic Food in Rural Indonesia: Applying The Linear Approximation Of The Almost Ideal Demand System
The urgency of studying strategic food demand in rural households serves as a basis for recommending the formulation of effective and sustainable strategic food policies. This study aims to examine the proportion of rural household expenditure on strategic food, identify the factors influencing rural household consumption of strategic food, and analyze income and price elasticity using the Marshallian approach. The research utilized 2023 Susenas data, which was then analyzed using the LA-AIDS model. The findings indicate that rice is the most preferred commodity among rural households and has a complementary relationship with other strategic commodities. Meanwhile, ruminant meat (beef, goat, and lamb) remains a luxury item for rural households. Government efforts are needed to encourage household consumption of alternative protein sources other than ruminant meat such as chicken, eggs and fish which are relatively affordable
The Role and Performance of Farmer Group in Organic Vegetable Business
Natural substances are used instead of synthetic chemicals in organic farming, which eschews the use of synthetic insecticides, fertilizers, and plant growth regulators. The purpose of this study is to (1) Identify the role of farmer groups in the development of organic vegetable businesses; and (2) analyze factors that affect the performance of organic vegetable farmer groups. Technique sampling set is 40 farmers Respondents were selected purposively, taking into account capacity and capability. Qualitative descriptive analysis and SEM-PLS, two data analysis techniques, are being applied. The findings of this study demonstrate how well-suited a farmer organization to play a role in organic vegetable production from upstream to downstream. External factor variables have a positive effect on performance variables but are not significant. This is due to the relatively low capacity of farmer group members due to low education. On the other hand, land size, member involvement, production facilities and member access all have an influence on community performance. The influence of community competence on performance reveals that the initial sample value, 1.146, is positive. This value indicates that there is a favorable association between the competency variable and community performance. However, when linked to the role of the group in terms of marketing access, there is still a need for additional knowledge, skills, and farmers are still very dependent on community leaders for the sale of crops, which has an impact on the fighting power of farmers
