The Digital Efficiency Paradox: Modeling the Trade-off Between Documentation Speed and Patient Interaction in Infrastructure-Limited EHR Ecosystems
The digitization of clinical workflows through Electronic Health Records (EHR) is a global imperative aimed at enhancing data accuracy and care coordination. However, in resource-constrained environments, the transition from paper-based systems to digital platforms often surpasses the readiness of existing infrastructure. While systems such as the Lightwave Health Information Management System (LHIMS) in Ghana offer the promise of increased efficiency, they also introduce critical dependencies on unstable power and internet connectivity. This situation creates a "Digital Efficiency Paradox," wherein the urgency to document data swiftly before a potential power outage inadvertently diminishes the quality of clinician-patient interactions. This study employs a qualitative-driven process modeling approach at Juaben Municipal Hospital (N=10). We utilize formal Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN 2.0) semantics to reconstruct clinical workflows and apply the Control-Flow Complexity (CFC) metric to quantify the cognitive load shift from manual () to digital () systems. Computational analysis reveals that while LHIMS reduced patient retrieval latency by approximately 96%, it increased structural complexity (CFC) from 3.0 to 14.0, thereby imposing a higher cognitive burden. Crucially, we identified a phenomenon of "Infrastructure-Induced Process Deadlock," where power outages result in total system paralysis (), compelling clinicians to resort to risky hybrid workarounds. Paradoxically, the anxiety of potential system failure drives staff to prioritize "screen time" over "care time," creating a tunnel vision effect. The study challenges the "always-online" paradigm in the Global South. We conclude that digital efficiency must be balanced with structural resilience, advocating for an "Offline-First" architecture that decouples clinical documentation from grid instability to preserve the human element of care

Addressing human factors through targeted training and simplifying system interfaces was also necessary to improve user experience and satisfactio
MODELING OF FACTORS INFLUENCING GENDER DEVELOPMENT INDEX (GDI) IN PAPUA PROVINCE USING SPLINE NONPARAMETRIC REGRESSION
The Gender Development Index (GDI) is an index of achieving basic human development capabilities to measure success in efforts to develop the quality of human life by considering gender inequality. Papua Province is the province with the lowest GDI score when compared to the 34 provinces in Indonesia. This condition shows that there is still a development gap between the male and female genders. For this reason, it is necessary to research the factors that are suspected to influence GDI in Papua Province. In this study, the pattern of GDI data and the factors that are thought to influence it do not form a specific pattern, so we used spline nonparametric regression. Based on this study, the best model is obtained by the optimal knot point based on the smallest Generalized Cross Validation (GCV) value, which are 3-knots and six significant variables, namely, Life Expectancy , Expected Years of Schooling , Female Income Contribution , Sex Ratio , Female Labor Force Participation Rate , High School Enrollment Rate. This model has an of 99.95%. The predictor variable used has an effect of 99.95%, and other variables influence the rest

Management of Surgery to Cranioplasty Reconstruction in Meningioma Patients with Hyperostosis: Case Series
Background: Meningiomas, common primary brain neoplasms, become more frequent with age. They can affect osseous structures, manifesting as hyperostosis and significantly diminishing the well-being of patients. Although meningiomas' precise etiology and pathogenesis remain ambiguous, hormonal influences and other factors have been implicated in their development. This study seeks to explain surgical management and cranioplasty reconstruction to reduce recurrence and improve the well-being of patients. Objective: This case series encompasses a retrospective analysis of medical records from six patients diagnosed with meningiomas with hyperostosis, treated between December 2022 and January 2024, at Dr. Soegiri General Hospital, Lamongan. The analysis focuses on surgical interventions and cranioplasty reconstruction.Cases Presentation: Six patients had chronic cephalgia and cranial masses persisting for 3-6 years. Computed tomography imaging revealed hyperostotic changes contiguous with the neoplastic lesions, prompting craniotomy. Subsequent acrylic cranioplasty was undertaken to ensure encephalic protection and to achieve cosmetic restoration. Conclusion: For patients presenting with meningiomas and hyperostosis, symptomatic management through surgical excision and resection of the hyperostotic bone is recommended. Early implementation of cranioplasty, preferably acrylic materials, is recommended to shield cerebral structures and restore cranial morphology, given its economic feasibility and reduced infection risk compared to autologous bone graft
