    No full text
This study addresses the urgent issue of democratic governance in Indonesia, particularly the persistent weaknesses in electoral transparency, accountability, and integrity, as evidenced by increasing violations and declining public trust in recent elections. The research aims to examine the patterns of power relations between the National Unity and Politics Agency (Kesbangpol) and civil society organizations, specifically Pemuda Pancasila and the Forum Komunikasi Anak Betawi (Forkabi), in monitoring the 2024 Presidential Election in East Jakarta, and to assess their influence on electoral credibility and citizen participation. Adopting a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, direct observation, and literature study, then analyzed using thematic analysis. The findings reveal a shift in power dynamics from a hierarchical model to an egalitarian partnership, consistent with the principles of neo-Tocquevillian liberal democracy. This transformation has significantly strengthened civil society’s role as a critical partner of the state in electoral monitoring. The study shows that such collaboration enhances the legitimacy and quality of the election process and serves as a practical model for participatory democratic governance. The practical implication highlights the need for policy development that facilitates cross-sectoral communication, training, and support mechanisms to safeguard electoral integrity and prevent political conflict. The originality of this study lies in its empirical contribution to understanding newly emerging power relations between local government and civil society organizations, shifting away from hegemonic models. By combining field-based evidence, neo-Tocquevillian theory, and a participatory framework, this study offers a novel perspective on the evolving role of civil society in local democratic oversight

The majority of the population in Sigama Ujung Gading Village is Muslim. However, it appears that the mosques in this village face challenges, such as a lack of community participation in the welfare of the mosques. This is evident from the empty mosques during prayer times and the absence of activities during Islamic holidays. Therefore, there is a need for community service activities that can assist the community in addressing these issues. The method used in this community service involves lectures or material presentations and discussions with Q&A sessions. Based on the results of this community service activity, mosque administrators were assisted in developing an organizational structure that aligns with each of their roles and functions. Additionally, the administrators were helped in planning activities, from weekly to annual events, and the community was educated on the importance of their involvement in the welfare of the mosques. No full text
This study examines the role of Masjid Agung Nur Ala Nur Panyabungan in empowering surrounding street vendors, using the Maqāṣid al-Sharī‘ah Index (MSI) as an analytical framework. The objectives of the research are to assess the conditions, opportunities, and challenges faced by street vendors in this mosque-based economic model, and to explore how Maqāṣid al-Sharī‘ah principles can inform sustainable empowerment strategies. The study employs a qualitative descriptive design, involving in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis, with participants including mosque administrators, street vendors, and congregants. The results highlight that while the mosque contributes to local economic activity, the empowerment initiatives remain fragmented, with gaps in structured training, financial management expertise, and collaboration with local stakeholders. The MSI findings show that the dimension of "Upholding Justice" scored highest, reflecting the mosque\u27s role in ensuring fair business practices. However, the "Educating Individuals" dimension was weakest, indicating a need for capacity-building programs. The study concludes that for mosques to realize their full potential as centers of economic empowerment, there must be a more strategic approach, including enhanced training, financial transparency, and partnerships with Islamic microfinance institutions

    No full text
This study aims to analyze the understanding and practices of the Sambori community in inheritance distribution and dispute resolution, with a particular focus on the interaction between Islamic law and customary law. Using a qualitative empirical approach, data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews with religious leaders, community leaders, and village officials, as well as documentation. The findings reveal that although many members of the Sambori community are familiar with Islamic inheritance principles, they tend to adopt customary practices in distribution, as these are considered more flexible and capable of preserving family harmony. Inheritance disputes are typically resolved through family deliberation and mediation by religious or traditional leaders before resorting to the religious court. Customary law, transmitted across generations, continues to dominate the inheritance process, although there is a growing tendency, particularly among the younger generation, to adopt Islamic law. These findings highlight a dynamic interplay between religious norms and local cultural values, leading to a hybrid inheritance model within the Sambori community. It can be concluded that inheritance distribution in Sambori is not merely a legal matter but also a reflection of the community’s social, cultural, and religious values

    No full text
This study analyzes the Free Nutritious Food (FNF) policy from a political economy perspective and evaluates its impact on community welfare, using a case study at Junior High School 1 Cikalongkulon. Grounded in Grindle’s (2017) theory of resource distribution, the study conceptualizes public policy not merely as a technical solution but as a product of negotiation among actors with differing interests and power dynamics. Employing a qualitative approach through literature review and field observation, the research investigates the formulation and implementation of the FNF policy in a rural context characterized by logistical constraints and socio-economic vulnerabilities. The findings reveal that the program contributes to improved student attendance, enhanced nutritional status, and reduced household food-related expenditures. However, persistent challenges include limited institutional coordination, inadequate cultural adaptation, and fiscal sustainability concerns. The study recommends an inclusive and participatory policy design, gender-sensitive evaluation frameworks, and robust monitoring mechanisms to ensure effective and equitable long-term implementation of school feeding initiatives. These findings provide critical insights for enhancing policy responsiveness and advancing social welfare in underserved regions

    No full text
The ineffective use of conventional student worksheets for learning fi’il madli among ninth-grade students at a Madrasah Tsanawiyah in Malang has resulted in limited comprehension and underutilization of technological tools, with 78.9% of 50 students experiencing learning difficulties and 90% scoring below the Minimum Completion Criteria. To address this problem, this study developed and evaluated SAMIL, a teaching material based on multiliteracy learning and Augmented Reality (AR), aimed at improving students’ understanding of fi’il madli. The research applied the Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model, consisting of five stages: analyzing learning needs, designing teaching material concepts and instruments, developing the product, implementing product trials, and evaluating each stage. Quantitative data were gathered through needs analysis, expert validation scores, and responses from teachers and students, while qualitative data were obtained from classroom observations, interviews, and expert suggestions. The quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, and the qualitative data were interpreted using descriptive methods. The findings indicate that SAMIL achieved validation scores of 84.45% from subject matter experts, 91.47% from media experts, 90.28% from teachers, and 90.33% from 24 student users. These results demonstrate that the SAMIL materials are both feasible and practical for use in Arabic language instruction. Moreover, the integration of multiliteracy and AR in the teaching materials offers an engaging and interactive learning alternative that addresses students’ difficulties in mastering Arabic verb structures, thus contributing to more effective and technology-supported learning experiences in secondary-level Arabic education
