Biomass Estimation of Brantas Riparian Zone Tree, Batu City, East Java
Research to estimate carbon absorption using ecosystem productivity models carried out in riparian zones is still rare. This research aims to determine the carbon and biomass potential in the Brantas River riparian zone, Batu City. The data obtained was retrieved using Microsoft Excel 2013 software. The data was tested differently using Paleontological Statistics, through normality and homogeneity tests, and continued with a different test. Different tests are carried out to determine the quality of the riparian zone between the observation stations. In addition, the Principal Component Analysis (PCA) is continued with Biplot and Cluster Analysis to understand the differences between the stations and to know the characteristics between stations. The biomass in the village of Sidomulyo is bigger than any other location. The biomass is about 8760 tons/ha with a carbon potential of 4380 tons. This value is very high compared to the entire location. The average potential carbon at each location ranges from 67 to 285 tons. Sidomulyo village\u27s riparian zone, rich in carbon and biomass, requires preservation to prevent global warming due to carbon emissions. The closure of land at the site of the village of Sidomulyo did not cause the riparian zone in the village to become less. The results showed that although the village of Sidomulyo has a savage land cover and settlements, the carbon storage from trees in the riparian zone is huge. This research aids in developing conservation strategies for riparian zones with high carbon storage potential, supports climate change mitigation, and informs policymakers on sustainable land management practices in the Brantas River watershed
Herpetofauna Community in The Karst Area of Pucung Village, Eromoko District, Wonogiri Regency
Pucung Village is located in Eromoko District, Wonogiri Regency, part of the Gunung Sewu karst area with diverse biodiversity, including herpetofauna (amphibians and reptiles). Limited information on the distribution patterns and abundance of herpetofauna is the focus of this study. This study examined herpetofauna diversity across three habitat types (river, forest, and field). Using Visual Encounter Surveys (VES) and line transects, 455 individuals from 19 species (10 families, 2 orders) were recorded. Forests exhibited the highest species diversity (H’ = 2.152 in Mijil, 1.873 in Dunggudel) and richness (R = 2.962 in Mijil, 2.392 in Dunggudel), attributed to structural complexity and niche availability. Fields showed high abundance but low diversity, dominated by Fejervarya cancrivora and Fejervarya limnocharis, indicating anthropogenic influence. River habitats displayed intermediate diversity, with variability linked to water quality and disturbance levels. Species similarity between habitats was moderate (53%), with the highest overlap between river and field habitats (72.73% in Mijil). Dispersed distribution patterns were observed, driven by water availability during the rainy season. Canonical Correspondence Analysis (CCA) revealed that water pH, temperature, and humidity significantly influenced herpetofauna presence, particularly for amphibians in field habitats. Future research should incorporate functional diversity metrics and long-term monitoring to assess climate and land-use effects
Religious Character-Based Inclusive Education in General Course for Difabel Students at University
This study addresses the need for a character-based inclusive education model that accommodates students with disabilities in higher education, particularly within the Indonesian context. The objective is to design a values-oriented educational framework that integrates moral and religious principles into inclusive teaching practices. Employing a Research and Development (R&D) approach, the study involved general course students at an Indonesian university, with data gathered through interviews, observations, and a review of relevant literature. The findings reveal a hierarchical structure of character values comprising basic values (tolerance, sympathy, empathy), instrumental values (self-awareness and cooperation), and ultimate values centered on sincere service (lillahi Ta’ala). Additionally, the implementation of character education in Islamic and Civic Education courses must be responsive to the unique challenges faced by students with disabilities, requiring curriculum adjustments in terms of learning media, instructional materials, and assessment strategies. The study contributes to the field by emphasizing ta’awun (mutual assistance) as a core religious value that underpins inclusive relationships among faculty, students with disabilities, their peers, and families, thereby promoting a more compassionate and supportive academic environment
Improving Narrative Writing Skills of Madrasah Tsanawiyah Students Through a Group Inquiry Learning Model Based on Religious Character Values
This research analyzes the effectiveness of the group inquiry learning model based on religious character values in enhancing narrative writing skills, specifically in the form of diaries. The objective is to evaluate how this model integrates Islamic religious education with literacy culture while fostering religious character values in the learning process. Employing a quasi-experimental method with a matching-only pretest-posttest control group design, the study was conducted with 76 eighth-grade students from Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri in Magelang City, Central Java, Indonesia. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and tests assessing narrative writing that incorporated religious character values such as siddiq, amanah, tabligh, and fathanah. The results revealed that the experimental group, which used the group inquiry model, showed significant improvements in writing skills (t-count = 3.081, sig. = 0.018). The N-Gain for the experimental group was 22.33, compared to 0.52 for the control group, demonstrating the model’s effectiveness. This research underscores the importance of integrating group inquiry learning with religious character values, as it significantly improves narrative writing skills, enhances student engagement, and instills core Islamic values, thereby contributing to the development of both literacy and character education in Islamic schools
Da\u27wah Through Service Excellence: Analyzing Customer Satisfaction in Islamic Aqiqah and Catering Services
This research examines the impact of product and service quality on customer satisfaction within the context of Islamic aqiqah and catering services, integrating a da\u27wah (Islamic outreach) perspective. Aqiqah services hold significant religious importance in Islamic culture, serving not only as commercial enterprises but also as vehicles for preserving and promoting Islamic traditions. Customers often encounter challenges regarding product and service quality in the marketing process, which directly affects their satisfaction levels. This study employs a quantitative research method with data analysis conducted using SPSS software. Primary data were collected from 72 customers using simple random sampling from a population of 264 customers who have utilized aqiqah and catering services, while secondary data were obtained from service provider documents. The findings reveal that product and service quality collectively explain 24.5% of customer satisfaction variance (R² = 0.245), with the remaining 75.5% attributed to other variables not examined in this study. Specifically, the t-test results indicate that service quality significantly influences customer satisfaction (t = 4.604, p < 0.05), while product quality does not show significant impact (t = 0.082, p = 0.935). The F-test confirms that both variables together significantly affect customer satisfaction (F = 11.366, p < 0.05). These results suggest that customers prioritize service excellence over product attributes when evaluating religious-based services, indicating that da\u27wah through exceptional service delivery can enhance both commercial success and religious mission fulfillment in Islamic business enterprises
Integrating Media Literacy in Da\u27wah: Effective Communication Strategies for Religious Counselors in Preventing Early Marriage
Early marriage remains a serious issue in West Nias Regency, particularly affecting young girls. Religious instructors, as respected community figures, are seen as vital agents in preventing early marriage through education based on religious values. However, challenges such as limited digital access, low media proficiency, and generational communication gaps reduce their effectiveness, especially in reaching youth influenced by social media. This study explores how media literacy can enhance religious instructors\u27 role in early marriage prevention. Using a Community-Based Research (CBR) approach and qualitative methods, the study engaged 28 participants—including instructors, community leaders, and youth—through interviews, FGDs, and observations. Results show that instructors trained in basic digital skills used tools like WhatsApp, Facebook, and video editing apps to create religious-themed videos and interactive content. These methods significantly improved youth engagement. One instructor noted, “After learning how to use videos and infographics, more teenagers listened and asked questions.” The study concludes that media literacy is a key communication strategy, not just a technical skill. It enables instructors to connect more effectively with younger audiences and address sensitive topics like early marriage. Two key recommendations are: (1) establish ongoing, tailored media literacy training for religious instructors, and (2) build partnerships with schools and youth organizations to develop collaborative digital campaigns. These strategies can empower religious instructors to become more dynamic, youth-friendly communicators and help reduce early marriage in West Nias
Examining Digital Activism through Sentiments for Feminism Issues on Instagram (Case Study @perempuanberkisah)
The high number of sexual violence cases against women in Indonesia remains alarming, with a recent surge in gender-based cyber violence that exploits victims through sexual content. This phenomenon prompted the author to investigate how the Instagram account @perempuanberkisah manages public narratives and responses from netizens toward stories shared by women victims of sextortion. The main objective of this research is to analyze the sentiment and discourse dynamics generated in the comment sections of this platform. Employing a qualitative approach with a case study design, the study selected three sextortion-related posts from @perempuanberkisah during 2023. Sentiment analysis was also conducted to categorize the direction of netizen comments into positive, negative, and neutral. The findings reveal that neutral sentiments dominate the discussions, surpassing positive and negative sentiments across all three posts. This suggests that while @perempuanberkisah serves as a platform for raising awareness and empowering victims, netizen engagement tends to remain cautious and reflective rather than explicitly supportive or oppositional. Theoretically, this study enriches feminist perspectives on digital activism and online narrative management. Practically, it highlights the importance of safe online spaces for survivors. Future research is encouraged to explore similar issues using additional theoretical frameworks and comparative platforms
The Meaning of Pilgrimage at The Grave of Kyai Modjo: A Study of Living Hadis About Grave Pilgrimage
The tradition of grave pilgrimages has become integral to religious practice in the Indonesian Muslim community. A grave pilgrimage is an order in Islam because it can remind us of death, take lessons, live zuhuds, and encourage us to do better. Grave pilgrimage has become a routine in people\u27s lives, including the grave pilgrimage at Kyai Modjo\u27s grave to honor the services of his struggle against Dutch colonialists. This type of research is a descriptive-analytical qualitative study that aims to describe the meaning of grave pilgrimages for those who make a pilgrimage at the Kyai Modjo Tomb. Using the Hadith Study method, this research focuses on the study of hadith, using the Living Hadith Approach, which aims to understand the perception and meaning of the purpose of the practice of Grave Pilgrimage at the Kyai Modjo Tomb. The data collection involved interviews with academics, cultural experts, and religious leaders. The results of this study indicate that grave pilgrimages are a sunnah of the Prophet. Therefore, the grave pilgrimage tradition is part of the implementation of the arguments of the Qur\u27an and the Hadith of the Prophet. This research shows the permissibility of performing grave pilgrimages, especially to Ulama, martyrs, and heroes, such as Kyai Modjo in Tondano, North Sulawesi. This research can be a reference, especially about grave pilgrimage with a Living Hadith approach, as well as the grave of Kyai Modjo can be a religious tourism in the future if managed properly
Regional Competitiveness as a Moderator Between Economic Growth and Poverty in Central Java
This study offers a theoretical exploration of regional competitiveness as a moderating variable in the relationship between economic indicators and poverty in Central Java, Indonesia. While macroeconomic indicators like GDP growth, investment, and labor market performance are traditionally used to explain poverty trends, this paper argues that such variables alone fail to capture the underlying spatial disparities that shape developmental outcomes. Drawing on theories of endogenous growth, spatial development, and institutional economics, the study conceptualizes competitiveness as a multidimensional construct comprising infrastructure, innovation, governance, and human capital. Using qualitative document analysis and thematic synthesis, the research finds that economic gains yield significantly better poverty reduction outcomes in districts with higher levels of regional competitiveness. Conversely, low-competitive regions exhibit muted responses to positive economic indicators due to infrastructural limitations and institutional weaknesses. These findings underscore the necessity of integrating competitiveness into poverty analysis models. The study’s contribution lies in its reconceptualization of regional competitiveness as a dynamic moderator rather than a background condition, providing both theoretical refinement and practical insights. Policy implications emphasize place-based strategies focused on capacity-building to ensure that economic growth is both inclusive and sustainable across varied regional contexts in Indonesia
