Determinants of GDP in OIC Countries: A Conceptual Thematic Analysis

    Get PDF
Economic growth remains a central priority for member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), yet these countries continue to experience uneven GDP performance. Understanding the determinants of GDP within this context requires an integrated conceptual approach that considers both conventional economic indicators and Islamic socio-economic principles. This study employs a thematic conceptual analysis to explore the multidimensional drivers influencing GDP across OIC nations. By synthesizing classical economic growth theories with contemporary Islamic economic frameworks, the research identifies key macroeconomic variables—such as capital formation, trade openness, institutional quality, and zakat—as critical factors shaping GDP trajectories. The methodology involves a document-based qualitative review of existing academic literature and theoretical models. Findings indicate that integrating Islamic economic instruments, particularly zakat, enhances socio-economic equity and fosters inclusive growth, while structural and governance factors mediate the effectiveness of such instruments. This study contributes a comprehensive framework for understanding GDP dynamics in OIC countries and offers a foundation for policy-making that aligns with both economic efficiency and Islamic ethical values

Politics Design: A Solution-Oriented Approach to Political Science

    No full text
Post-behavioralist critiques are a crucial foundation for changes in previous apolitical political research. Politics should be an academic instrument and a response to humanity’s challenges. Political design seeks to criticize the dominance of the logic of study that prioritizes analytical and objective methods. This study proposes political design as an alternative approach to Political Science, prioritizing creative and design thinking in addressing public problems. This paper identifies the shortcomings of conventional critical thinking approaches and introduces political design as a practical, solution-oriented method through a literature review method, specifically an integrative review. Politics has been redefined as an instrument for power solutions. This study highlights five core principles: promoting solutions for public problems, moving beyond theoretical frameworks to operational implementation, fostering innovation over ordinary resolutions, managing the interests of designers to protect public values, and grounding practice in the awareness of inherent power imbalances. The results present a synthesis of interdisciplinary literature that informs this new approach, while the conclusion discusses its potential contributions to Political Science

    Get PDF
Climate change remains a pressing global issue, particularly in developing countries such as Indonesia, and is especially evident in major urban areas like the Special Capital Region of Jakarta (DKI Jakarta). In response, the Jakarta government has implemented electric vehicle (EV) policies as a strategy to reduce carbon emissions from the transportation sector. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of these policies in curbing vehicular carbon emissions. Using a literature review approach, data were collected from various sources to evaluate existing regulations, identify challenges, and assess the potential of EVs in supporting a sustainable energy transition. The findings indicate that although there is regulatory support and government incentives, the adoption of electric vehicles continues to face significant obstacles, including high upfront costs, limited charging infrastructure, and inconsistencies in policy implementation. This study recommends strengthening coordination among government entities, the private sector, and the public to enhance accessibility and accelerate the adoption of environmentally friendly transportation solutions

    No full text
This study aims to analyze the relationship between the revision of Law Number 34 of 2004 and the issue of the return of ABRI\u27s dual function and civil supremacy in the context of Indonesian democracy and reform. The mixed methods approach with SEM PLS-4 and NVivo 12 analysis is used to achieve that goal. The results of the analysis using NVivo 12 showed that ABRI\u27s dwifunction would not return and civil supremacy was maintained because, legally, the TNI remained focused on its role as a tool of national defense. The civil government, through the Parliament and public supervision, has full authority to oversee the TNI so that the TNI still maintains its tested neutrality. The results of the SEM PLS-4 analysis show that the TNI Law\u27s political variable on the issue of ABRI\u27s dual function and civilian supremacy has a statistically significant effect, with a T-statistic value of 5.073 and P-value of 0.000 and a large effect on the model (F-square 0.489). The contribution of this research is to provide an understanding of the importance of a balance between freedom of opinion, politics, and the interests of national defense as a system that supports each other in the post-reform era, as well as in facing the challenges of reform and hybrid warfare towards Indonesia Gold Indonesia 2045. The limitations of this study lie in a limited time, which affects the depth of analysis and data scope so as to limit the perfection of the results of the research as a whole

Integrasi Maqam Tasawuf dalam Psikoterapi Islam: Pendekatan Spiritual terhadap Kesehatan Mental

    Get PDF
This study aims to examine five principal maqamat (spiritual stations) in Sufism—repentance (taubah), detachment (zuhud), patience (sabr), trust in God (tawakkul), and contentment (rida)—and to analyze their characteristics and therapeutic value within the framework of Islamic psychotherapy. Employing a qualitative approach through library research, this study explores classical and contemporary Sufi texts to identify the psycho-spiritual dimensions embedded in each maqam. The findings reveal that each maqam contains psychological indicators that contribute to overcoming anxiety, emotional stress, and psychosomatic disorders. Taubah serves as a foundation for spiritual purification; zuhud as detachment from worldly attachment; sabr as spiritual resilience; tawakkul as the embodiment of divine unity (tawhid); and rida as the ultimate acceptance of divine decree. Together, these maqamat form a coherent framework of spiritual therapy, highly applicable in Islamic psychotherapy practices. The primary contribution of this study lies in reinforcing Islamic spirituality-based psychotherapy through the integration of Sufi maqamat into theoretical frameworks of mental health. It also enriches interdisciplinary discourse between Sufism and psychology, and opens opportunities for developing contextual Sufi-based therapeutic approaches relevant to modern society

Distinguishing Islam from Islamism: Bassam Tibi\u27s Insights on Fundamentalism and Religious Politics

    Get PDF
This study examines Bassam Tibi’s perspective on fundamentalism and critiques its limitations. Using textual and documentary study methods, this study examines fundamentalism as an important phenomenon in the modern era. Bassam Tibi, a prominent Muslim thinker and professor, distinguishes Islam as a religion and civilization from Islamism as a politicized ideology aimed at socio-political and economic goals. He critiques Islamism as a fundamentalism that abuses religious principles for political purposes. Tibi advocates the modernization of Islamic education to promote cultural progress and counter fundamentalist ideology. However, Tibi’s perspective has weaknesses. He oversimplifies the diversity of fundamentalist movements, conflates fundamentalism with radicalism and terrorism, and emphasizes political solutions while ignoring cultural approaches. This study highlights the need for a more nuanced understanding of fundamentalism, taking into account its socio-political roots and diverse manifestations while exploring alternative strategies to address its challenges in Muslim societies. Tibi’s thinking remains valuable but needs refinement to better address the complexities of fundamentalism in the contemporary context
