    Get PDF
This study examines the role of reasoning, logic, and sources of knowledge in the development of modern science, focusing on how these concepts are understood and applied by students from both general and Islamic educational backgrounds. The research aims to explore the relationship between critical reasoning, logical processes, and knowledge sources in learning and daily life. Using a qualitative phenomenological design, data were collected through semi-structured interviews and analyzed thematically. The findings reveal that students employ both inductive and deductive reasoning to solve academic and everyday problems, with logic serving as a tool for constructing coherent conclusions. Knowledge sources include empirical experience, rational thinking, and guidance from religious teachings. The study concludes that reasoning, logic, and knowledge sources are interrelated and play a crucial role in shaping holistic science. Importantly, these insights highlight practical implications for contemporary education, suggesting that the integration of rational, empirical, and spiritual perspectives can inform curriculum design and pedagogy to foster deeper understanding, critical thinking, and character formation among student

    Get PDF
This study aims to examine Sheikh Nawawi al-Bantani’s concept of moral education and its influence on shaping students’ noble character at SMK Yanisba Pontang, Indonesia. The research employs a qualitative approach based on library study, supplemented by field data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data were analyzed using content analysis, focusing on the integration of Sheikh Nawawi’s principles into school practices. Findings indicate that moral education is implemented through routine programs, such as congregational prayers, recitation of moral texts, and discipline reinforcement via school regulations. Teacher role-modeling and behavioral habituation proved effective in cultivating moral awareness and producing tangible changes in student attitudes, including discipline, responsibility, politeness, and mutual respect. Theoretically, this study reinforces Sheikh Nawawi’s principles, particularly uswah hasanah (teachers as role models) and tadrib al-nafs (training oneself through habituation). The results emphasize that moral internalization requires practical engagement and consistent repetition of virtuous behavior. Practically, this model can be applied in vocational schools to develop students with strong moral and spiritual character, preparing them to face social and professional challenges effectively

    Get PDF
This study examines the application of a participatory evaluation model based on reflective journals and dialogic feedback in community-based non-formal education at the Qaryah Thayyibah Learning Community, Indonesia. The study employed a descriptive qualitative design through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis, with thematic data analysis. The results indicate that participatory evaluation increases metacognitive awareness, learning independence, and student responsibility for their learning process. Evaluation is understood as assessment as learning, not merely achievement control. The facilitator acts as a dialogic partner who strengthens a reflective and collaborative culture. Theoretically, these findings contextualize participatory evaluation within Islamic educational values, particularly self-reflection (muhasabah), and are relevant for community-based non-formal education

The Reconstructing the Teleological Foundations of Islamic Education: A Thematic Educational Interpretation Addressing the Fragmentation of Spiritual and Educational Aims

    No full text
Contemporary Islamic education faces a fragmentation of objectives between spiritual and pedagogical-instrumental orientations. Education tends to emphasize technical competence and market needs, while transcendental and Qur\u27anic values are marginalized. This article aims to reconstruct the teleology of Islamic educational objectives based on thematic interpretations of the Qur\u27an. The study uses a qualitative approach with library research. Primary data consists of Qur\u27anic verses on educational objectives, while secondary data include tafsir books, Ta\u27lim al-Muta\u27allim by az-Zarnuji, and contemporary Islamic educational literature. Analysis was conducted using the maudhu\u27i tafsir method of al-Farmawi and content analysis. The results show that the objectives of Islamic education are integrative, encompassing spiritual, moral, intellectual, social, and ubudiyah dimensions, making them relevant to addressing the challenges of contemporary education

Waste Donation: Empirical Analysis of Faith-Based Ecological Ethics in Indonesia

    No full text
This study aims to examine eco-piety, the relationship between religious obedience of the community and environmentally friendly behaviour, one of which is waste donation. Two points follow from this waste donation: firstly, donation (shadaqa) is a simple practice considered light yet with an extraordinary impact for both the giver and the recipient. Secondly, it benefits waste management through recycling, reuse, or repurposing. This practice is muamalah and, at the same time, has environmental impacts. Combining qualitative and quantitative methods, data were collected through literature reviews and interviews, and a survey employing a convenience sampling procedure of West Java residents who completed an e-questionnaire distributed via Google Forms. The data were analysed using logistic regression. The study found that the values of religious obedience and environmentally friendly behaviour are not strongly related. 78% of respondents identified themselves as devout Muslims, and 83% knew verses and hadiths related to environmental protection. From these figures, it is hoped that the figure is directly proportional to the high public interest in giving waste alms, thereby helping to overcome the waste problem in Indonesia, especially in West Java. However, only 54% supported the waste charity program. Further research is needed to demonstrate how this waste charity can be implemented effectively to provide financial, environmental, and religious benefits

Regulations Rights Intellectual Property Regarding Digital Works Created by Artificial Intelligence (AI)

    Get PDF
This article examines the challenges of regulating intellectual property rights (IPR) in Indonesia for digital works produced by artificial intelligence (AI). Although Law No. 28 of 2014 on Copyright establishes the creator as the legal subject, works produced automatically by AI create ambiguity in copyright ownership. This uncertainty creates a legal loophole that could lead to disputes. This study employs a normative juridical approach to analyse the legal protection of AI works and finds that, absent specific regulations, these works lack adequate legal protection. Concrete steps are needed, either through revisions to laws or through the establishment of new rules, to accommodate the development of AI technology and provide legal certainty for the owners of works

Beyond Gendered Boundaries: The Implications of Riffat Hassan and Simone de Beauvoir’s Thought for Islamic Education in Indonesia

    Get PDF
This article discusses the philosophical studies of feminists (Simone de Beauvoir) and Islamic feminist theology (Riffat Hassan) and their impact on gender-responsive Islamic education in Indonesia. This study integrates secular and religious frameworks in the context of inclusive and emancipatory educational reform. Hassan\u27s rereading of Islamic texts and canons highlights the patriarchal bias of the dominant interpretation and calls for a theology of gender justice and equal values for all people. On the other hand, de Beauvoir\u27s existentialism, particularly the idea of women as the "Other," serves as a critique of the educational philosophy of deconstruction and reconstruction of the education system that supports gender inequality. These thinkers problematize the nature and role of gender that is taken for granted, showing how these roles are constructed, maintained and, in many cases, legitimized through networks of cultural and religious practices. The use of comparative philosophical approaches and the integration of sociological and historical frameworks allows this study to illuminate the ways in which traditional education systems re-educate gender inequality in a hidden way, through formal and informal culture and institutional structures, to the curriculum. de Beauvoir\u27s humanistic existentialism called for the liberation of the individual from social shackles, while Hassan\u27s reformist theology articulated a radical position on equality and a moral agency grounded in faith. However, in the Indonesian context, the promotion of Gender Mainstreaming in Islamic educational institutions is still very reactive to culture and structural constraints. This article argues that education based on respect for human beings and gender-friendly is an absolute prerequisite for creating a safe learning space for women. Curriculum reform, reinterpretation of gender-biased religious teachings and strengthening critical awareness among educators are one of the many homework and strategic steps in realizing equitable and gender-friendly Islamic education

Bibliometric Analysis on Child Labor Using VoS Viewer and Biblioshiny: A Study on Scopus Database from 1902-2025

    No full text
Child labor continues to be one of the most urgent global issues, highlighting ongoing social, economic, and ethical dilemmas that cross national and disciplinary lines. In spite of numerous international policy efforts and advocacy over the years, millions of children around the globe still endure exploitation in different types of labor, which has significant consequences for their rights, education, health, and future development. Grasping the progression of academic focus on this matter is essential, not only to chart current understanding but also to pinpoint gaps and emerging avenues for research that can guide effective interventions. This study presents a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of global scholarly publications on child labor from 1902 to 2025. Drawing on a Scopus dataset of 1,831 documents extracted from 815 publication sources, this research employs Biblioshiny and VOSviewer to analyze trends, authorship, institutional contributions, country participation, and thematic evolution within the literature. The findings reveal a steady yet accelerated growth in academic interest, particularly from the 1990s onward, coinciding with rising global awareness of children’s rights, poverty, and education. Despite a moderate average annual growth rate of 1.53%, the field has diversified significantly, encompassing themes such as economic development, social policy, gender, and child welfare. The most influential publications are rooted in development economics and social studies, with increasing contributions from journals focused on sustainability, ethics, and education. Prominent scholars and institutions, mainly from the United States and the United Kingdom, have dominated the field, though contributions from the Global South remain underrepresented. Emerging thematic trends include the intersection of child labor with technological change, digitization, and climate vulnerability. However, several research gaps persist, particularly in gender-disaggregated analysis, sector-specific studies, localized and longitudinal impact assessments, and theoretical integration across disciplines. The study highlights the need for future research to adopt interdisciplinary, inclusive, and forward-looking approaches that engage with the evolving realities of child labor, especially in light of digital economies, global crises, and systemic inequalities. These insights aim to inform more equitable and effective policy responses to the persistent global challenge of child labor

Eksistensi dan Dinamika Jamaah Rifa’iyah di Desa Sukawera, Kertasemaya, Indramayu Tahun 2005-2020: Aktivitas Keagamaan dan Pendiidkan

    Get PDF
This article examines the existence and dynamics of the Rifa’iyah organization in Sukawera Village, Kertasemaya Subdistrict, Indramayu Regency, during the period of 2005–2020 by applying the four stages of the historical method: heuristics, criticism, interpretation, and historiography. This study is significant considering that the existence of Rifa’iyah in Sukawera has received limited attention in local historical literature, despite the fact that this organization is an Islamic group that has endured various challenges from the colonial era through the Reform era. Originating as a cultural movement, Rifa’iyah has successfully maintained its existence through religious activities centered on the Tarjumah recitations and the development of educational institutions. These two activities serve as the main pillars in sustaining the continuity of the movement as well as representing the organization’s adaptation to social dynamics and changing times.
