Exploring The Influence of The KoPI Lokal Islami Learning Model and Gender on 21st-Century Skills in Islamic Elementary Schools

    Get PDF
This study aimed to determine the influence of the KoPI Lokal Islami (KLI) learning model, gender, and their interaction on 21st-century skills. This study used an experimental method through a factorial design. The study involved 174 students from Islamic elementary schools, divided into three treatment groups: 58 students in the KLI model, 58 in the cooperative learning (CL) model, and 58 in the direct instruction (DI) model. Among the participants, 88 were male, and 86 were female. Data were collected through tests, observation sheets, and questionnaires, all of which were validated by experts. Data analysis was conducted using a two-way ANOVA, followed by Tukey HSD and LSD tests, after normality and homogeneity tests were performed. The results showed that the KLI model significantly improved 21st-century skills (p=0.000) by creating a more contextual and meaningful learning experience. Significant differences were also found between male and female learners (p=0.039), with females, in general, being more focused on developing 21st-century skills at primary school age. The interaction between model and gender is not significant (p=0.799), indicating that these two factors influence 21st-century skills independently. This research makes an essential contribution to the design of learning models that are more relevant to current demands and can serve as a basis for educational policy recommendations in Islamic primary schools

AGRICULTURAL COMMUNITY TRADITIONS IN BOJONGSARI VILLAGE, NYALINDUNG DISTRICT, SUKABUMI (1986-2024)

This study examines the acculturation of agrarian traditions, particularly the Seren Taun ceremony, in the villages of Bojongsari and Sukamaju, Nyalindung District, Sukabumi, between 1986 and 2024. The Seren Taun ceremony, a harvest celebration, has historically been found in traditional villages such as Kanekes Baduy and Ciptagelar. However, interestingly, this tradition also persists in rural villages such as Bojongsari and Sukamaju, albeit with significant differences due to socio-cultural and religious acculturation. The main objective of this study is to analyze the contents of the traditional “Ririmbon Panen” guidebook found in both villages and to identify the forms of acculturation that influence agricultural practices and religious rituals. Using a qualitative approach, this research involves field methods (observation, interviews, documentation) and philology to edit and translate the texts, supplemented by content analysis to reveal the values contained therein. The results of the study show that the Seren Taun tradition in Bojongsari and Sukamaju, known as “Meteumeuyan,” has undergone profound acculturation with Islamic teachings. This transformation is evident in the replacement of amulets with prayers from the Qur\u27an and the use of the Islamic calendar in determining harvest times. Although pre-Islamic elements such as offerings and incense burning have been eliminated, other aspects such as calculating auspicious/inauspicious days and wind direction have been retained. In addition, the community still respects Monday as “Nyi Pohaci Day,” when rice processing activities are stopped. The Seren Taun ceremony in these two villages represents a concrete example of cultural acculturation in Indonesian agrarian communities, where indigenous traditions adapt to Islamic thinking, creating a unique blend that enriches cultural meaning without losing its essence. Keywords: Agrarian, Acculturation, Seren Taun, Islam, Sunda

THE DYNAMICS OF RELIGIOSITY IN CONVENTIONAL, DIGITAL, AND METATHEATRE IN EASTERN CULTURES

    Get PDF
This article examines religious practices in contemporary performance through a sociological approach grounded in the Eastern cultural context of Indonesia. The study focuses on how monologue theatre Amir Nasution, Topeng Monyet (the monkey show) performances, theatrical livestreams of online commerce, and digital stages within WhatsApp groups function as social arenas where religious values are produced, negotiated, and reflected. Religious experience is not understood as fixed doctrine but as a social construction that is symbolic, theatrical, and performative. The sociology of religion provides the framework to interpret how rituals, symbols, and religious practices emerge within the everyday life of Indonesian society, which is shaped by collectivist values and the spiritual ethos of Eastern culture. The meaning of religiosity in performance is layered and dynamic, shaped by social interaction, local traditions, and symbolic actions that emphasize harmony and solidarity. WhatsApp groups, as digital spaces of interaction, are understood as spontaneous forms of metatheatre that embody dramatic structure, performative awareness, and fluid spiritual moments, reflecting religious practices in Eastern communities in the digital era. This article argues that theatre—whether conventional, digital, or metatheatrical—constitutes a social space relevant to contemporary life and offers religious experiences that resonate with the inclusive, collective, and tradition-rooted character of Indonesian Eastern culture

Reconfiguring Mosque-Based Civic Networks: Religious Messaging, Emotional Appeal, and Social Intimacy in Hijrah Movement of ‘Kopdar Masjid BDG Raya’ WhatsApp Group

    Get PDF
This study examines how the WhatsApp group Kopdar Masjid BDG Raya operates as a civic micro-network that reshapes mosque-based Islamic participation among urban youth engaged in the hijrah movement in Greater Bandung. Using virtual ethnography and one-year observation (July 2023–June 2024), the research explores how religious messaging, emotional resonance, and social intimacy are constructed and maintained in everyday group interaction. The findings show that daily spiritual prompts, repentance narratives, and offline gatherings foster a collective moral journey rooted in transformation and belonging. Rather than solely distributing da‘wa content, the group nurtures trust, accountability, and coordinated mosque-based activities that deepen civic religiosity. While the group demonstrates stability and active participation, it is not without limitations. Informants noted some content fatigue and silent readership patterns, as well as subtle frictions when mosque administrators differed in da‘wa orientation or program intensity. These limitations suggest that digital hijrah activism relies on negotiated interaction, ongoing trust-building, and careful coordination with offline mosque authorities. This paper contributes to the study of digital Islamic movements by highlighting the evolving role of WhatsApp as a medium for sustaining spiritual commitment, facilitating civic bonds, and navigating the informal structures of religious authority in contemporary Indonesian cities

Beyond the Watchdog: Exploring Sousveillance as an Alternative Form of Media Oversight

    Get PDF
Empirical research indicates that the mainstream media in Indonesia frequently fail to serve as effective watchdogs. In contrast, social media platforms facilitate digital democracy by enabling citizens to oversee power structures, although they also increase opportunities for government surveillance. This study aims to assess whether sousveillance can serve as an alternative mechanism for monitoring power when mainstream media do not fulfill their watchdog role by analyzing trends in mainstream media, Twitter, and citizen sousveillance. A mixed-methods approach is employed. The quantitative method utilizes Natural Language Processing (NLP) and the Naive Bayes sentiment analysis technique, while qualitative content analysis enriches the findings. The results demonstrate that news coverage in mainstream media outlets (Jawa Post, Kompas, and CNN Indonesia) failed to fulfill the watchdog function, as reporting was predominantly positive toward the government and its supporters, and hostile toward NGOs and groups critical of the government. A similar trend is observed on Twitter. However, analysis of sousveillance practices reveals that, although sousveillance does not directly influence policy change, it contributes to intermedia agenda-setting and can function as an alternative form of oversight. These findings highlight the significance of sousveillance as a form of citizen oversight, particularly in contexts where democratic institutions are in decline

Maryam a.s/Mary and The Alienation of the Female Body: An Existentialist Feminist Analysis of Pregnancy in Sacred Narratives

    Get PDF
This article investigates how the female voice and body are constructed in the annunciation and pregnancy narratives of Maryam in the Qur’an (QS Maryam: 19–20) and Mary in the Gospel of Luke (1:34). The research aims to examine how these sacred texts reflect women’s experiences of alienation and agency in relation to pregnancy, situated within the tension between divine will, patriarchal norms, and autonomy. Methodologically, the study employs a qualitative literature-based approach combined with feminist critical discourse analysis, grounded in Simone de Beauvoir’s existentialist feminism and supported by gender-sensitive hermeneutics. Classical tafsir and biblical commentaries are re-read alongside contemporary feminist theological and philosophical literature to trace how religious authority and cultural expectations shape the meaning of pregnancy. The analysis demonstrates that the narratives of Maryam/Mary encode a recurrent pattern of alienation of the female body: pregnancy appears as something that “happens” to women, their honour is tied to sexual purity, and their consent is articulated within heavily gendered structures. At the same time, the figures of Maryam and Mary retain elements of questioning, resistance, and spiritual strength that disrupt purely passive portrayals. The main contribution of this study lies in proposing an alternative reading of Maryam/Mary as symbols of transcendent, spiritual resistance rather than merely immanent reproductive roles. By highlighting alienation, bounded agency, and embodied subjectivity, the article expands feminist theological discourse. It offers a critical framework for rethinking motherhood, consent, and women’s bodily autonomy in contemporary Muslim and Christian contexts

Construct Validity of Indonesian Vocational Interest Test (Tes Minat Vokasional Indonesia) to Measure Interest of Vocational School Student

    Get PDF
This study aims to comprehensively evaluate the construct validity of Tes Minat Vokasional Indonesia (TMVI) in gauging the interests of vocational high school students. To achieve the stated objective, confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) was adopted as the study approach. Accordingly, the respondents of this investigation comprised 474 students from SMKN 2 Surakarta. The obtained results showed that model fit indicators such as CFI, TLI, SRMR, and RMSEA, all fell within the designated ranges (CFI and TLI ≥ .90, SRMR ≤ .08, and RMSEA ≤ .06). This suggest that TMVI had a rather good construct to measure the interests of vocational high school students. However, the factor loading analysis conducted reflected that some items showed factor loading values below the designated threshold (≥0.15). This observation invariably imply that the contribution of the items having low factor loading values to the measured construct was minimal. A plausible reason for this is because the vocabulary used by vocational high school pupils was not age-appropriate. Therefore, if TMVI is to be used to gauge the interests of vocational high school students, its wordings must be modified

Developing a Simulated Assessment Center for Analyzing Assessor Rating Accuracy

    Get PDF
Assessors play a central role in assessment center (AC) but few educationally grounded tools exist to evaluate or train rating accuracy. Therefore, this research aimed to develop a simulated AC designed for assessor learning and examining social-cognitive judgment processes. The development followed the Standards for Educational and Psychological Testing and six structured stages, integrating principles from Funder’s Realistic Accuracy Model (RAM). The simulation targets two dimensions assessed through written and oral presentation exercises. The task content was derived from real assessee performances, transformed into standardized scenarios, and performed by trained roleplayers. The simulation was piloted with 23 psychology graduate students serving as novice assessors following expert review. The results showed that there was a significant dimension-by-exercise interactions in rating accuracy in line with RAM’s emphasis on cue availability and interpretation. The simulated AC offered a fidelity-based tool for advancing understanding of assessor cognition and strengthening training practices

    Get PDF
The Kaaba Mosque in Mulyoharjo, Jepara, is unique because its design resembles the Kaaba in Mecca. Therefore, in addition to being a place of worship, it has also developed as a religious tourism destination that attracts public attention. This condition demands an appropriate management strategy so that the main function of the mosque as a centre of worship is maintained while being able to provide benefits to worshippers and tourists. This study aims to describe the management strategy of the Kaaba Mosque as a religious tourism destination by emphasizing the balance between religious, social, and tourism aspects. The research method used is qualitative with a descriptive approach, namely by describing the conditions that occur in the field (field research), data collection through interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out through the process of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions, while data validity was obtained through triangulation and discussions with related parties. The results of the study indicate that the management of the Kaaba Mosque is carried out through organizing religious activities that maintain the solemnity of worship, managing services to worshippers and tourists that emphasize comfort and educational value, and empowering the surrounding community to support the sustainability of religious tourism

ABSTRACT One of the alternatives to improve fertilization efficiency is the use of slow-release nitrogen. Elicitor can increase nutrient absorption from the soil, plant resistance to pests and diseases, and reduce the use of synthetic chemical fertilizers. This study aimed to examine the effects of slow-release nitrogen fertilizer and the bio-elicitor (biosaka) on the physiology and yield of two rice varieties (Inpari Unsoed P20 Tangguh and Inpari 47 WBC). The research was conducted at the Bojongsari Seed Farm, BBTPH Banyumas Region, using an experimental design with a factorial randomized block design comprising 12 treatment combinations and three replications. The results showed that applying N-ZEO-SR Plus improved physiological parameters and increased rice yield by 47.86% at a rate of 500 kg ha-1. The effect of bio-elicitors on dry-milled grain was related to N-ZEO-SR Plus. There was a relationship between varieties, bio-elicitors, and N-ZEO-SR Plus on rice plant physiology. The use of N-ZEO-SR Plus fertilizer and bio-elicitors on two rice varieties did not affect plant health
