Incorporating “red” culture into college ideological and political classroom is a quick response to the call of college ideological and political education in a new era featuring socialism with Chinese characteristics. On the Banality of Evil and Its Modern Form
No full text恶有诸多种表现形式,相对于有邪恶动机和主观故意的恶,平庸之恶是指个人因无主见、盲从而导致的对他人和社会的损害,是一种因麻木、冷漠而导致的无明显作恶动机的恶。从人性以及人类社会发展来看,平庸之恶具有某种终极性,它是我们在任何时代、任何社会都无法回避的一种恶。与其他的恶相比,平庸之恶有三个基本特征。平庸之恶是一种个人无思想之恶;平庸之恶往往隐匿于群体性之恶中;平庸之恶是一种会造成较大甚至巨大损害的恶。在现代社会,平庸之恶一般存在于科层制管理、社会公共生活、网络社会中,体现为制度异化、道德冷漠、网络暴力等问题。尽管个人在平庸之恶中没有明确的作恶动机,但无论从动机论还是从效果论的角度看,他都应该为自己的行为承担责任,否则对于受害者、对于能坚守良知与正义的人来说都是不公正的。Evil has taken on a lot of forms. Unlike the evils out of wicked motives and subjective deliberation, the banality of evil refers to the damage to others and society caused by the individuals′ lack of his own judgment and blindly following, which is a kind of evil resulting from indifference and coldness without obvious wicked motive. In terms of humanity and the development of human society, the banality of evil has certain nature of ultimateness and can′t be avoided in any era or any society. Compared with the other evils, the banality of evil has three basic features. First, the banality of evil is out of the individuals′ lack of idea. Second, it is concealed in the masses. Third, it can lead to great or even enormous damage. In modern society, the banality of evil generally exists in hierarchy management, social public life and network society and is mainly reflected in system alienation, moral indifference, and internet violence, etc. Even though the individual has no clear motive for evil in the course of the banality of evil, from the perspective of either motive theory or effect theory, he should be responsible for his behaviours, otherwise it will be unjust to the victims and those able to stick to conscience and justice
