Inhibition of Chlorogenic Acid-induced Cytotoxicity by CoCl_2
P(論文)Chlorogenic acid (CGA) induced apoptotic cell death in human oral squamous cell carcinoma (HSC-2) and salivary gland tumor (HSG) cell lines. CGA exhibited oxidation Potential in the culture medium, as demonstrated by NO monitor. Both cytotoxic activity and oxidatoin potential were significantly reduced by addition of CoCl_2. ESR spectrascopy showed that CGA produced seven peaks of radicals under alkaline condition, while addition of CoCL_2 altered the spectral pattern and diminished the radical intensity of CCA. CoCl_2 accelerated the CGA-induced coloration of the culture medium and modified the difference spectrum at around 325 nm, an absorption maximum characteristic of CGA. These data suggest that CoCl_2 induced conformational changes in the CGA molecule. Chlorogenic acid (CGA) has shown diverse biological activities, including anti-HIV activity (1), antioxidant activity (2-4), anticarcinogenic activity (5-8), modulating activity of cytochrome P450-linked enzyme (9, 10) and antiallergic activity (11). We have recently reported that CGA induced cytotoxicity against human oral tumor cells (human oral squamous cell carcinoma HSC-2, human salivary gland tumor HSG) (12). The cytotoxic activity of CGA was significantly reduced by various antioxidants (catalase, sodium ascorbate, N-acetyl-L-cysteine) (13), suggesting that CGA induced cytotoxicity by its pro-oxidant action. However, the mechanism of cytotoxicity induction by CGA has not yet been elucidated. We have recently found that the cytotoxic activity of CGA was significantly reduced by COCI_2 (12). At present, there are at least two possibilities: one is that COCI_2 may directly interact with CGA and transform it into an inactive form, while a second one is that COCI_2 may induce transcription factors (4) which stimulate the gene expression of glycolytic enzymes and various growth factors necessary for cell survival. Mechanical Property of Super Micro Nylon6 Fiber with Various Diameters
P(論文)Mechanical properties for four Nylon6 fibers of different diameters have been examined. The diameters of the fibers are 82, 24, 9.1 (micro-fiber), and 2.5(super-micro-fiber)μm. The apparatus for the tensile test has been newly designed for measuring the mechanical properties of the super micro fiber. The breaking forces measured for many super micro fibers have been grouped into those with large and small values. The distribution of the breaking forces has been correlated to the distribution of the diameters. The super micro fiber has finally been clustered into five groups in order to evaluate mechanical properties. Sorption and diffusion behavior of water for Nylon-6 fibers of various diameters
P(論文)Sorption and diffusion properties of water for four Nylon-6 fibers of different diameters have been systematically examined at 25℃. The diameters of the fibers are 82, 24, 9.1 (micro-fiber), and 2.5 (super-micro-fiber) μm. The quartz spring weighing method has been employed for measuring the water sorption to the fibers. The amount of sorbed water has been separated into that absorbed to the volume of non-crystallline part of the fibers and that adsorbed to the surface of the fibers, in order to explain the absorption by the diffusion of water into the fibers. Molecular Weights of Green Pigments Formed from Chlorogenic Acid and Glycine
P(論文)Determination of Chlorogenic Acid (5-CQA) isomers under alkaline condition was realized using C30 HPLC column instead of C18. The results of time course for the formation of CQA isomers suggested that green pigments were seemed to be mainly produced by reacting 3-CQA formed from 5-CQA with glycine. Effect of Soybean Peptide Substitution on Breadmaking
P(論文)Physical properties of wheat flour replaced with 0.5 to 1.5% of soybean peptide (WFRS) and baking properties of them were estimated. Hardness and adhesive properties of dough made from WFRS decreased gradually as soybean peptide level increased. Among the bread made from WFRS, the bread made from wheat flour replaced with 0.5% of soybean peptide showed better loaf volume and also showed better sensory evaluation score. Linear regression analysis showed that the quantity of soybean peptide (X) was correlated to the loaf volume of the bread made from WFRS (Y).
