Development Tools for Educational Games – Comparative Analysis
Report published in the Proceedings of the National Conference on "Education and Research in the Information Society", Plovdiv, June, 2018This report focuses on the most popular tools for development of educational
computer games and suggests a comparative analysis of their main features. The research
builds upon existing reports in the field. It analyses the core development tools – the
programming languages and the corresponding graphic libraries as well as user-friendly
platforms and environments like game engines. The comparative study stresses on the
characteristics of the development tools for educational games from the point of view of the
users who possesses sound skills and knowledge in programming.Association for the Development of the Information Society, Institute of Mathematics and Informatics Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, Plovdiv University "Paisii Hilendarski
Educational Games in Schools – Survey and Analysis
Report published in the Proceedings of the National Conference on "Education and Research in the Information Society", Plovdiv, June, 2018In today's world full of digital devices, information and communication technologies
(ICT) are already well placed in education. As an effective tool for supporting teaching, they
engage learners’ attention, motivate them, facilitate knowledge acquisition, and provide access
to a vast amount of learning resources. Computer educational games are the most intriguing
among them. However, whether teachers are willing to practice this approach, we have tried to
find out by surveying them. Based on results, an analysis of usage of educational games in
different school grades and their application in various subjects have been made. Advantages
of using learning games and their impact on learners have also been explored.Association for the Development of the Information Society, Institute of Mathematics and Informatics Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, Plovdiv University "Paisii Hilendarski
Frame Models in Programming Training
Report published in the Proceedings of the National Conference on "Education and Research in the Information Society", Plovdiv, June, 2018The use of frame-based representations in training methods has a long history. The
paper presents a part of a study on the application of frame-based representations of
knowledge for the needs of e-learning. On the basis of the proposed accumulative frame model
for knowledge representation and accumulation, a system of 20 accumulative frame models for
conceptual knowledge presentation in the field of programming has been developed. Four
types of tasks for studying C ++ programming language syntax are suggested.Association for the Development of the Information Society, Institute of Mathematics and Informatics Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, Plovdiv University "Paisii Hilendarski
New Realization of the Euclidean Algorithm
Report published in the Proceedings of the National Conference on "Education and Research in the Information Society", Plovdiv, June, 2018In this paper we will expose results connected to the practical realization of Euclidean
algorithm in contemporary programming environment (Visual C# 2017) and CAS Wolfram
Mathematica. Results of numerical experiments show that algorithm conducting take shorter
CPU Time which is one of basic tasks for everyone who is involved in calculations, professional
programmer and specialist in applied mathematics. The task of searching greatest common
divisor is basic at least for 3 branches of nowadays science: Algebra, Number theory and
Discrete Mathematics. Similar tasks are of interest to specialists in parallel computer
architectures and realized on them algorithms.Association for the Development of the Information Society, Institute of Mathematics and Informatics Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, Plovdiv University "Paisii Hilendarski
Преизползване на съдържанието – основен проблем на модерните системи за съхранение на учебно съдържание
Report published in the Proceedings of the National Conference on "Education and Research in the Information Society", Plovdiv, June,
Association for the Development of the Information Society, Institute of Mathematics and Informatics Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, Plovdiv University "Paisii Hilendarski
Conceptual Modeling of IoT Ecosystems: A Business-Oriented Approach
In this paper, a new approach to the conceptual modeling of IoT ecosystems is presented. Taking into consideration the business processes of an organization, this approach allows the creation of models which integrate IoT-devices and IoT-governed activities into the business flow of the company. The main purpose of this research is to help organizations make faster and more efficient choices based on formalized input/output from their IoT-resources and networks. The use of modeling and formal description is necessary in order to include IoT in ERPsystems, so that IoT is considered in the overall strategic planning and decision making on all levels.
