The report examines the most common orthographic and punctuation lapsus calamis in graphostylistics of modern computer-mediated communication. The examples are from the social network "Facebook" and the emphasis is on the incorrect use of the glide "й" in the inflection of nouns in the plural tantum and the incorrect use of commas at the end of subordinate clause
In 2021 REM - Plovdiv received the collection of prof. Julia Dilova, donated by her daughter Tsvetina Erokhina after her mother passed away. The collection contains over 500 different items. Today, it is very rare for museums to receive collections of this proportion, representative of different regions of the Bulgarian ethnic territory. In order to promote the donation, the museum created a project and received funding from Plovdiv 2019 Foundation. It includes five videos, an exhibition "The Apron – a Symbol and an Apotropaic", a catalog "With Love for the Woven", post cards and promotional materials. It was our desire to pay tribute to people like her, who have collected the pieces of our beautiful Bulgarian heritage. For only by shedding light on them can we thank them enough and make their work contagious to everyone who sees our future better through the conservation of our traditional culture and identity
In the last few decades, graphics programming products for image processing have gained their positions in the works of artists who employ printing techniques. However, few are the people who would contemplate on traditional fine art techniques in the context of contemporary three-dimensional computer technologies. Yet in numerous instances, combinations that appear to be impossible have proved to give unexpectedly good results. In this regard, any given object that is part of an artwork can be observed from different points of view and can be put in various conditions. The question is: if the initial concept was to start off with a plastic volume which at a certain time is integrated into a two-dimensional work of art, could its presence be reconsidered at a certain point and another technology be applied for its representation? The current work deals with this topic by referring to an experiment based on a digital sculpture which involves numerous technological approaches in order to create works of art of various character and individual aesthetics
The poster has a power to impact, to manipulate. Nowadays we are surrounded everywhere with promotional materials that have a strong visual suggestion on us. They influence on us by their color, symbolism, composition, marketing strategies. The poster has the power to manipulate and suggest, but should this happen at all costs? It, the poster, is bringed with the art of the street, because that is the place where it is exhibited, respectively, it’s the most accessible art, the most closest to the people
Kazimir Malevich's Black Square (c. 1915) is considered as a revolution in art and is one of the most recognizable works of modernism. In fact, Malevich was far from being the first to depict a black square on a white background. As early as 1617, the English physicist and philosopher Robert Fludd painted "The Great Darkness", almost identical to the one of Malevich, which he used as an illustration for his book on cosmogony. In 1854, Gustave Dorè also depicted a black square-like quadrilateral on a white background, as a caricature. Although not exactly squares, nor only black, here we will also mention Paul Bilhaud, whose monochrome paintings exhibited in 1882 in Paris also refer to the genre of humor. "View of The Hague under cover of night" (1843) by Charles Albert d'Arnò, better known as Bertal is another example of an all-black composition
Stability Analysis of a Chemostat Model for Phenol and Sodium Salicylate Mixture Biodegradation
In this paper we consider a mathematical continuous-time model for biodegradation of phenol in the presence of sodium salicylate in a chemostat. The model is described by a system of three nonlinear ordinary differential equations. Based on the dynamical systems theory we provide mathematical investigations of the model including local and global analysis of the solutions. The local analysis consist in computation of two equilibrium points—one interior and one boundary (washout) equilibrium—in dependance of the dilution rate as a key model parameter. The local asymptotic stability of the equilibria is also presented. The global analysis of the model solutions comprises proving existence, uniqueness and uniform boundedness of positive solutions, as well as global asymptotic stabilizability of the dynamics. The theoretical investigations are illustrated by some numerical examples. The results in this study can be used in practice as a tool to control and optimize the chemostat performance of simultaneous biodegradation of mixed substrates in wastewater.Grant No BG05M2OP001-1.001-0003, financed by the Science and Education for Smart Growth Operational Program (2014–2020) in Bulgaria and co-financed by the European Union through the European Structural and Investment Funds
L-Spline Interpolation for Differential Operators of Order 4 with Constant Coefficients
In this paper it is shown that many features from polynomial spline methods used in nonparametric regression and smoothing procedures carry over to the class of L-splines where L is a linear differential operator of order 4 with constant coefficients. Special attention is given to the question whether an analogue of the Reinsch algorithm is valid and criteria are given such that the associated matrix R is strictly diagonal dominant.Project KP-06-N32-8; Project KP-06N42-2 with Bulgarian NSF; Grant No BG05M2OP001-1.001-0003,financed by the Science and Education for Smart Growth Operational Program (2014-2020) and co-financed by the European Union through the European structural and Investment funds
[Stoyanova Maya; Стоянова Мая]We survey recent results on universal bounds on the energy of codes in Hamming
spaces. The universality means, in particular, that the bounds hold for a large class of potential functions (the most important bounds – for absolutely monotone interactions). Furthermore, we employ signed measures that are positive definite up to
certain degrees to establish Levenshtein-type upper bounds on the cardinality of codes
with given minimum and maximum distance, and universal lower bounds on the potential energy for codes with given maximum distance and cardinality. In particular,
the results extend the Levenshtein framework. 2020 Mathematics Subject Classification: 74G65, 94B65, 52A40, 05B30
The article tells the story of an exhibit from the fund "Musical Instruments and Ritual Properties" of REM - Plovdiv. It is an extremely rare three-joint, turned kaval, made of cornel-tree, with three sleeves made of horn, with engraved belts and semi-concentric circles. It is inlaid with rich metal decoration. It was used at the end of the XIX century in the village of Chitak (now Byala Reka), Plovdiv region. It belonged to the kaval player Radyu Yordanov Enev, born in 1862. He participated in the first competition for kaval players, held on September 20, 1898 in Plovdiv with this kaval. Its introduction to the public is related to the exhibition "The Song of Wood", with which REM - Plovdiv has presented itself in a number of cities in the country and abroad, as well as during "Plovdiv - European Capital of Culture"
