On Some Families of Codes Related to the Even Linear Codes Meeting the Grey–Rankin Bound
Bounds for the parameters of codes are very important in coding theory. The Grey–Rankin bound refers to the cardinality of a self-complementary binary code. Codes meeting this bound are associated with families of two-weight codes and other combinatorial structures. We study the relations among six infinite families of binary linear codes with two and three nonzero weights that are closely connected to the self-complementary linear codes meeting the Grey–Rankin bound. We give a construction method and partial classification results for such codes. The properties of the codes in the studied families and their relations help us in constructing codes of a higher dimension from codes with a given dimension
Mathematically Based Assessment of the Accuracy of Protection of Cardiac Data Realized with the Help of Cryptography and Steganography
This paper describes the application of cryptography and steganography in the protection of cardiac databases. The original cardiac data studied were transformed using a Daubechies wavelet transform. The next step is to conduct Energy Packing Efficiency-based compression. A watermark is added to the received data to protect against unauthorized access, before hybrid cryptography is performed using a suitably selected encryption algorithm. The presented and analyzed algorithm includes protection using public and symmetric key cryptography. The proposed software algorithm is performed on real electrocardiographic, photoplethysmographic, and Holter cardio data. We have evaluated the effectiveness of the applied approach and concluded that a sufficient level of protection of the studied data has been achieved, with methods of authentication and accuracy applied to the users.National Science Fund of Bulgaria (scientific project “Investigation of the application of new mathematical methods for the analysis of cardiac data”), Grant Number KP-06-N22/5, 7 December 2018

Разказването като дидактически инструмент за изучаване на ценности чрез използване на социална роботика
Learning is an activity and a skill that, in best cases, is retained during all the duration of one’s life. However, when we refer to teaching it usually refers to the more traditional structure of lectures, which is not always suitable, particularly in the when learning values and other complex concepts. Fortunately, technology offers new opportunities and scenarios to play out in the classroom. This new aids, like social robots, give teachers the freedom to try new or previously not viable options like personalized storytelling which combines traditional narrative, technology and emotions. This form of teaching-learning process helps the students relate and can help them develop active listening, stimulate their creativity and encourage their motivation through the narration of the experiences of the protagonist of the story, as well as achieve a more relaxed and participatory atmosphere in the classroom while working on his linguistics and digital skills, developing his critical spirit, and learning to organize information.This work has been partially supported by the Project No KP-06-N42/4 of the Bulgarian Research Fund
Социализация на недвижими археологически обекти от римската епоха в България
Археологическото културно наследство и включването му в проекти за създаване на туристически атракции, туристически продукти и маркетинг на дестинациите е сред водещите приоритети в областта на туризма в България. В този смисъл цел на настоящата статия е преглед и анализ на социализацията на недвижими археологически обекти от римската епоха в страната. Тя се разглежда в няколко аспекта – експониране, опазване, презентиране, предлагани услуги и организирани събития, достъпност, техническа и съпътстваща инфраструктура, реклама. При всеки един от тях се проследяват прилаганите основни техники и похвати, онагледени с конкретни примери на обекти от римската епоха с национално значение. В заключение са изведени по-важни проблеми и предизвикателства, свързани със социализацията. Тяхното решение е от значение за опазване на недвижимите археологически ценности и устойчивото развитие на туризма, основан на археологическо наследство.The archaeological cultural heritage and its inclusion in projects for the creation of tourist attractions, tourist products and marketing of the destinations are among the leading priorities in the field of tourism in Bulgaria. In this sense, the aim of the current paper is a review and analysis of the socialization of the immovable archaeological sites from the Roman period in the country. The socialization is considered from several aspects – exposure, preservation, presentation, provided services and organized events, accessibility, technical and ancillary infrastructure, advertisement. In each of them, the applied basic techniques and methods are studied and illustrated with specific examples of sites with national importance from the Roman period. In conclusion, more important problems and challenges related to the socialization are presented. Their resolution is of importance for the preservation of the immovable archaeological monuments and the sustainable development of tourism, based on archaeological heritage

Разчупване на стереотипите при оформяне на нова експозиция и възприемането ѝ от публика
С развитието на съвременните тенденции за оформяне на експозиционни пространства и показването им пред публика все по-често се прибягва до търсене на нови съвременни похвати. Силното развитие на дигиталните технологии и пространства дава огромни възможности в планирането и дизайна на една бъдеща експозиция. Целта на тези иновативни подходи е провокиране на посетителите.
След основен ремонт на сградата на РПНМ – Пловдив, протекъл в периода 2011-2015 г., е изградена нова експозиция. Новото експозиционно оформление преплита в себе си двата широкоизползвани до момента принципа – таксономичен и диорамен. Това създава един стил, който до момента е без аналог в света. Той успява да провокира значителен интерес във всички целеви групи и дава широки възможности за бъдещо развитие.With the development of modern tendencies of forming exhibition spaces and displaying them to the public, more often is resorted to search of new modern methods. The strong development of digitial technologies and spaces gives huge opportunities in planning and designing future exibitions. The point of these innovative methods is to provoke the visitors.
After the main renovation of the RHNM Plovdiv's building, which took place between 2011-2015., a new exibision was created. The new exposition desing includes the two widely used methods nowadays - taxonomic and dioramic. This crates a style which is unique and without an analog over the world. This provokes significant interest in all target groups and provides wide opportunities for future development
Културен подход към преподаването на комуникативен английски като чужд език в английска езикова гимназия
Комуникативният подход към преподаването на чужд език изисква обучение в целева, национална и глобална култура. Тъй като английският е международен език, днешните ученици ще го използват за международна комуникация. Целта ни е те да ползват усвоения чужд език за социализация и специализирани цели в бъдещата си професионална практика. Настоящата статия изследва сравнителен, междукултурен подход към преподаването на английски език в българския контекст. В експеримента участваха 52 осмокласници от Английска езикова гимназия „Карагьозов”, гр.Ямбол. Проучването имаше за цел да подобри качеството на обучението по английски като чужд език и да постигне по-добра социализация на деца от различни етноси, като ги възпитава в уважение, толерантност, неагресивно поведение и етика. Освен това беше приложен подхода за представяне на българските културни традиции на английски език -извор на патриотичната защита и национално достойнство.The communicative approach requires teaching a foreign language through target, national and global culture. As English is the "lingua franca", modern students should use English for international communication, aiming at its relevant application for appropriate socialization and in future occupational/professional practice. The current paper explores a comparative, cross-cultural approach to EFLT in a Bulgarian English Language Secondary classroom. Fifty-two eighth-graders, aged 14 from "V. Karagiozov" English Language School, Yambol participated in the experiment. The study aimed to improve the quality of EFLT teaching and achieve better socialization of children from various ethnicities, thus educating them in respect, tolerance, non-aggressive behaviour, and ethics. Moreover, a way of representing Bulgarian cultural traditions was explored as a means of performance in English the patriotic defence of national dignity
Прогнозиране на цените на електроенергията ден напред чрез рекурентна невронна мрежа за изследване с дългосрочна-краткосрочна памет
The availability of accurate day-ahead electricity price forecasts is very important for electricity market participants and it is an essential challenge to accurately forecast the electricity price. Therefore, this study proposes an efficient method suitable for electricity price forecasting (EPF) and processing time-series data from the Bulgarian day-ahead market based on a long-short term memory (LSTM) recurrent neural network model. The LSTM model is used to forecast the day-ahead electricity price for the Bulgarian day-ahead market. As inputs to the model are used historical hourly prices for the period between 20.01.2016 and 05.03.2022. The output is the electricity price forecasts for hours and days ahead. The future values of prices are forecasted recursively. LSTM can model temporal dependencies in larger Time Series set horizons without forgetting the short-term patterns. LSTM networks are composed of units that are called LSTM memory cells and these cells contain some gates that process the inputs. Since electricity price is affected by various seasonal effects, the model is trained for several years. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified using real market data
