Purpose: This study evaluates the connection between exports, imports, GDP, and gross capital formation in South Africa.Method: The study employed the AutoRegressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) method, along with unit root tests to validate data stationarity, and bounds testing to confirm long-run cointegration among the variables. EViews 12 software was used to analyze the data spanning from 1986 to 2022.Results: The findings indicate a statistically significant positive relationship between imports and gross capital formation at the 1% level, suggesting that imports stimulate gross capital formation in South Africa. Exports also demonstrate a direct connection with gross capital formation. Empirically, both exports and imports are significant factors in enhancing the level of gross capital formation in the country. This indicates that increasing the gross domestic product (GDP) is crucial for diversifying exports, with economic policy being a major determinant that can promote investment in gross capital formation to boost both exports and imports. This sets the foundation for ensuring that exports and imports have a long-term impact on gross capital formation (GrCaF).Practical Implications for Economic Growth and Development: This study contributes to economic growth and development by highlighting the critical role of imports and exports in enhancing gross capital formation, which in turn improves the South African economy. The findings suggest that robust policies should be implemented, including tax cuts, increased infrastructure development, the promotion of manufactured goods, and advancements in domestic technologies. The government must provide stronger support for domestic industries to translate these efforts into economic growth and development

Purpose: This study explores the impact of augmented reality (AR) technology on purchase intention in Indonesia. By integrating the AR experience framework with an extended Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), the research examines how five dimensions of the AR experience—sensory experience (SE), emotional experience (EE), thinking experience (TE), action experience (AE), and related experience (RE)—affect perceived ease of use (PEOU) and perceived usefulness (PU), which subsequently influence purchase intention (PI), with attitudinal ambivalence (AA) as a mediating factor.Method: A quantitative, cross-sectional survey was conducted with 300 Indonesian respondents, aged 18 to 60, who were recent users of the AR Sephora Virtual Artist. Data were collected through an online questionnaire and analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM).Result: Findings reveal that the dimensions of the AR experience positively impact PEOU and PU, which subsequently negatively influence AA. PU also directly fosters positive PI, while PEOU does not. Importantly, AA negatively affects PI, underscoring its critical role in consumer decision-making.Practical Implications for Economic Growth and Development: This research offers valuable insights for retailers to optimize AR implementation, thereby enhancing consumer engagement and driving purchase intention. Improving AR usability and effectiveness can reduce consumer uncertainty, strengthen market adoption, and advance digital commerce in the beauty industry.Originality/Value: This study uniquely integrates AA into existing AR adoption models and combines the AR experience framework with an extended TAM, providing novel theoretical contributions to AR in retail and insights into consumer behavior

Media framing will consciously or unconsciously select information and accentuate certain aspects to shape public perception of an event. This research aims to analyze the framing of the recitation of the Qur\u27an in the context of interfaith dialogue, particularly on the occasion of Pope Francis\u27 visit to the Istiqlal Mosque. Through a descriptive qualitative approach, this research examines in depth how the media, in this case Kompas TV, presented the event. The analysis is focused on the perspective of broadcasting law and contemporary Islamic law. The results show that the practice of reciting the Qur\u27an in the context of interfaith dialogue has great potential in promoting the values of tolerance and pluralism. However, there are different views among scholars regarding the limits of this practice. Legally, although there is no specific regulation, the general principles in the Broadcasting Law provide room for the practice. Meanwhile, from the perspective of Islamic law, there are differences of opinion among scholars regarding the permissibility of this practice. Qur\u27anic recitation in the context of interfaith dialogue can be an effective means of building better understanding between religious communities. However, it is important to maintain a balance between the spirit of inclusiveness and the prevailing religious principles. This study will identify the common ground and differences in the perspectives of the two legal systems, as well as their implications for the practice of broadcasting Qur\u27anic recitations in public spaces

    No full text
This study investigates the legibility of children’s content on YouTube, examining how it is presented, created, and consumed within the context of participatory parenting and Youtube algorithm. Using Jürgen Habermas\u27 public sphere framework, the research explores how digital platforms like YouTube shape participatory media practices, particularly in producing accessible and developmentally appropriate content for young audiences. The study adopts a purposive sampling method, by selecting videos based on YouTube’s algorithmic recommendations to simulate the user experience and exploring how the algorithm presents what they deemed as children content. Then, YouTube API is used to provide a broader overview of children’s content trends, while visual content analysis examines the visual and narrative elements that contribute to content legibility. Findings reveal that while YouTube serves as a collaborative affinity space for children’s content, promoting informal learning and interaction, its algorithm-driven and commercialized nature often undermines content authenticity and diversity, raising concerns about its alignment with children’s cognitive and developmental needs. The study underscores the importance of enhancing the legibility of children’s content in Youtube’s affordances to ensure it is engaging, educational, and appropriate for its intended audience
