THE INFLUENCE OF SOCIAL INTERACTION ON WRITING DEVELOPMENT: THE ROLE OF COLLABORATIVE LEARNING
This quasi-experimental study investigates how controlled peer interaction through round-robin methodology affects writing development, contrasting with conventional solitary approaches. Using a mixed-data types design, 120 intermediate-level students were divided into experimental (n=60) and control (n=60) groups. Quantitative pre- and post-tests assessed writing fluency, coherence, and complexity, while qualitative observations examined turn-taking equality, feedback quality, and nonverbal engagement. Results showed the experimental group achieved significant improvement with mean gains of 37.66 points versus 19.04 points in the control group (p<0.001). The experimental group's normalized learning gain (N-Gain) reached 77.69%, nearly double the control group's 39.36%. Qualitative findings revealed the experimental class demonstrated high turn-taking equity (63.3% balanced participation), constructive feedback (58.3% specificity), and active nonverbal engagement (66.7% eye contact, open posture), contrasting sharply with control-group dominance hierarchies (38.3% low equity) and superficial feedback (43.3% vagueness). Grounded in Vygotsky's socio-cultural theory, the study demonstrates how structured peer collaboration democratizes participation and scaffolds writing skills through critical discourse, supporting round-robin techniques as effective writing instruction that balances independence and interdependence
THE EFFECTIVENESS OF PUZZLE MEDIA IN TEACHING CAUSE-AND-EFFECT SENTENCES TO EFL LEARNERS IN INDONESIA
Effective writing instruction is crucial for English as a Foreign Language (EFL) learners. Nonetheless, teaching cause-and-effect sentences remains a challenge. The current study aims to examine the effectiveness of puzzle media in addressing this challenge. The study employed a pre-experimental, pre-test/post-test design with one group of participants comprising Indonesian high school students. Specifically, this group underwent a pre-test, instructional treatments using puzzle media, and a post-test, along with a questionnaire. The pre-test and post-test were intended to gauge the effectiveness of puzzle media on cause-and-effect sentences as reflected in the participants’ ability to use these constructions before vs. after receiving the instructional treatments, whereas the questionnaire was intended to explore their views of the given instructional treatment. The data, comprising the participants’ scores on the pre-test and post-test, were analysed using a paired-sample t-test. Results reveal a significant difference between pre-test and post-test scores, indicating that puzzle media is effective in teaching cause-and-effect sentences to EFL learners. Furthermore, the analysis of the participants’ responses on the questionnaire indicates that 62.1% of participants found puzzle media engaging and helpful in writing tasks. This study concludes that incorporating puzzle media into EFL writing instruction can enhance learners’ mastery of cause-and-effect sentences and foster a more engaging learning experience
Spiritual and Social Constructions in Islamic Pedagogy (Historical Research)
In this article the author constructs spiritual and social values in the Pedagogical Islamic historical perspective. A lack of understanding of Islamic pedagogy makes the negative stigma that Islamic pedagogy is only centered on the development of spirituality only, whereas Islamic pedagogy combines intellectual and spiritual development with interaction in learning. In order to achieve ideal learning, Islam offers the use of traditionalist teaching methods with the aim of forming humans spiritually, which is termed Islamic pedagogy. The idea of islamic pedagogy concept is characterized by the interplay between memorization, oral scientific transmission and writing that supports learning. The practice of Islamic pedagogy education is inseparable from the mystical approach to sacred texts. That is because the Strategy of Islamic pedagogy was formed by the revelation of the Qur'an obtained through hearing as well as Arabic culture from the relationship between memorization (memory) and oral tradition. This research uses historical methods by going through stages, namely; heuristics, source criticism, interpretation and historiography. Memorization and oral tradition were the Arabs' way of spreading knowledge long before the practice of writing was known. Educational environments (mosques, madrasah) are more characterized as spiritual construction. The existence of social interaction in oral and written methods is the basic construction of the formation of social attitudes of students
The Paradigm of Progressive Education in Theory and Practice of Muhammadiyah Organizational History
The purpose of this research is to explore how the paradigm of progressive education in theory and practice in the Muhammadiyah organization using historical methods with steps including heuristics, source criticism: internal and external, interpretation, and historiography. Based on the results of the study, it shows that the founder of the Muhammadiyah organization, K.H. Ahmad Dahlan, played an important role in this matter. His thoughts on Islam, life, and education became the foundation of a progressive education. However, it still strongly stays based on the Al-Quran and Al-Sunnah. The Muhammadiyah organization emphasizes its efforts to improve religious life with practices such as in the field of education. K.H. Ahmad Dahlan is also able to offer a new education model as a renewal of conventional education from Dutch schools and pesantren. Thus, Muhammadiyah’s education can give birth to a new generation that is more “kaffah.
Interpretation of “Ngahiang” Prabu Siliwangi in Babad Tanah Sunda Cirebon
The purpose of this study is to scientifically reveal the meaning of Prabu Siliwangi's “Ngahiang” which appears in the Babad Tanah Sunda Babad Cirebon. Not only in the Babad, but this is in several history books (Historiography) especially those that review the fall of the Pajajaran Kingdom. This research focuses on finding the truth of the meaning of Prabu Siliwangi's “Ngahiang” and also so that it can be rationally accepted about several possibilities of Prabu Siliwangi's existence at that time the Pajajaran Kingdom was being visited by the Cirebon Sultanate. This research method uses literature studies from relevant historiography as well as from journal articles and news that review Prabu Siliwangi as well as archaeologically valid historical sites. Researchers use the philological method approach as the main source and also anthropology. Data analysis also uses Descriptive Qualitative so that this article can describe phenomena or events that are currently taking place. The result of this research is that the meaning of the word “Ngahiang” of Prabu Siliwangi is not moksa or disappearing without a trace from the face of this earth but there are natural causes, including illness due to old age
PENGEMBANGAN E-LKPD BERMUATAN VIDEO PEMBELAJARAN PADA POKOK BAHASAN PROGRAM LINEAR
Peserta didik di SMA N 5 Metro masih kesulitan dalam memahami materi program linear dalam bahan ajar yang digunakan oleh guru. Bahan ajar cetak yang digunakan kurang menarik untuk digunakan peserta didik karna penggunaannya yang kurang fleksibel. Tujuan penelitian iniadalahmendeskripsikan proses pengembangan E-LKPD bermuatan video pembelajaran pada pokok bahasan program linear dan menghasilkan produk yang valid dan praktisuntukdigunakan.Metode penelitian pengembangan ini menggunakan modelpengembangan ADDIE. Subjek dalam penelitian iniadalah5 orang peserta didik dari kelas XI IPA 2. Instrumen pengumpulan data berupa pedoman wawancara, angket validasi serta angket uji kepraktisan. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu wawancara, angketvalidasi dan angketkepraktisan. Berdasarkan hasil pengembangan diawali dengan tahapan analisis masalah dan kebutuhan, tahap desain merancang E-LKPD, pengembangan dilakukan uji validasi materi dan media, implementasi dengan uji kepraktisan dan evaluasi pada keempat tahapan sebelumnya. Hasil rata-rata validasi materi sebesar 78,8% dan validasi media 87,7%, dengan perolehan rata-rata keseluruhan validasi sebesar 83,2% dengan kriteria sangat valid karena isi materi yang mudah dipahami dan media mudah digunakan. Rata-rata hasil penilaian uji kepraktisan sebesar 91,1% dengan kriteria sangat praktis karena materi mudah dipahami dan media menarik untuk digunakan.Students at SMA N 5 Metro still have difficulty understanding linear programming material in the teaching materials used by teachers. The printed teaching materials used are less attractive for students to use because their use is less flexible. The aim of this research is to describe the process of developing E-LKPD containing learning videos on the subject of linear programming and producing products that are valid and practical to use. This development research method uses the ADDIE development model. The subjects in this research were 5 students from class XI IPA 2. Data collection instruments were interview guides, validation questionnaires and practicality test questionnaires. The data collection techniques used were interviews, validation questionnaires and practicality questionnaires. Based on the development results, it begins with the problem and needs analysis stage, the design stage designs the E-LKPD, the development carries out material and media validation tests, implementation with practicality tests and evaluation at the four previous stages. The average result of material validation was 78.8% and media validation was 87.7%, with an overall average validation result of 83.2% with very valid criteria because the material content was easy to understand and the media was easy to use. The average practicality test result was 91.1% with very practical criteria because the material was easy to understand and the media was interesting to use
PENGEMBANGAN PLATFORM DIGITAL LINKTREE BERBANTUAN WORDWALL UNTUK MEMFASILITASI LITERASI DIGITAL PADA PEMBELAJARAN GEOMETRI TERINTEGRASI AL-QURAN/HADIST
Literasi digital menjadi kompetensi penting di era transformasi digital ini, yang membantu siswa mengidentifikasi dan mengevaluasi sumber informasi secara efektif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan platform digital Linktree berbantuan Wordwall untuk mengintegrasikan pembelajaran geometri berbasis Al-Qur'an/Hadits bagi siswa Sekolah Menengah Pertama, dalam rangka meningkatkan literasi matematika digital mereka. Menggunakan pendekatan Penelitian dan Pengembangan (R&D) dengan model 4D, terdiri dari 20 siswa Kelas VIII SMP Islam Sabilurrosyad Kota Malang. Pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara, observasi, dan tes, dianalisis dengan SPSS 17.0. Hasil validasi menunjukkan aspek media memperoleh skor 96,91%, materi 97,34%, integrasi 90,50%, aspek pembelajaran 86,50%, dan literasi digital 91,50% (semua kategori sangat valid). Uji coba kelompok kecil memperoleh skor praktikalitas sebesar 91,27%, sedangkan uji lapangan memperoleh skor 88,81%. Uji efektivitas menunjukkan adanya peningkatan literasi digital yang signifikan dengan N-gain sebesar 0,72. Oleh karena itu, platform Linktree yang dibantu Wordwall ini valid, praktis, dan efektif dalam memajukan literasi matematika digital siswa Sekolah Menengah Pertama Digital literacy is an essential competency in this digital transformation era, helping students identify and evaluate information sources effectively. This study aims to develop a Wordwall-assisted Linktree digital platform for integrating geometry learning based on the Quran/Hadith for Junior High School students, enhancing their digital mathematical literacy. Using the Research and Development (R&D) method with a 4D model, the research included 20 Grade VIII students in Malang City. Data collection utilized interviews, observations, and tests, analyzed with SPSS 17.0. The validation results revealed the media aspect scored 96.91%, material 97.34%, integration 90.50%, learning aspect 86.50%, and digital literacy 91.50% (all rated as very valid). Small group trials achieved a practicality score of 91.27%, while field tests scored 88.81%. Effectiveness testing indicated a significant improvement in digital literacy with an N-gain of 0.72. Therefore, the Wordwall-assisted Linktree platform is considered valid, practical, and effective in advancing the digital mathematical literacy of Junior High School students
PENGEMBANGAN "ENUMEKA" BERBASIS DIGITAL PADA IMPLEMENTASI KURIKULUM MERDEKA UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN LITERASI NUMERASI MURID
Kemampuan numerasi murid di Indonesia masih belum memadai, meskipun kompetensi ini penting untuk persiapan akademik dan keikutsertaan dalam Asesmen Nasional (AS). Kemampuan numerasi murid yang belum memadai perlu dicarikan solusinya. Salah satu upaya yang diusulkan oleh para peneliti adalah pengembangan media pembelajaran berbasis digital. Aplikasi E-NuMeka diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kemampuan numerasi murid. Proyek ini bertujuan untuk membuat platform media digital "E-NuMeka" yang memenuhi persyaratan validitas, kepraktisan, dan efektivitas untuk meningkatkan literasi numerasi murid. Penulisan ini menggunakan Software Development Life Cycle dengan menggunakan teknik prototyping sebagai metodologi penulisan dan pengembangannya. Aplikasi E-NuMeka yang dikembangkan dinilai valid dan layak untuk digunakan, serta memperlihatkan efektivitas dalam meningkatkan kemampuan numerasi matematika murid. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan analisis Paired Samples Test, yang mana signifikansi (2-tailed) dengan asumsi varians yang sama adalah 0,000, yang berarti lebih kecil dari 0,05. Aplikasi E-NuMeka dinilai praktis, dengan skor evaluasi kuesioner murid rata-rata 80,20. Penulisan ini memperlihatkan jika program E-NuMeka dapat meningkatkan kemampuan literasi numerasi matematika di kalangan murid sekolah menengah atas.Students' numeracy skills in Indonesia are still inadequate, although this competency is important for academic preparation and participation in the National Assessment (AN). Students' inadequate numeracy skills need to be solved. One of the efforts proposed by researchers is the development of digital-based learning media. The E-NuMeka application is expected to improve students' numeracy skills. This project aims to create a digital media platform "E-NuMeka" that meets the requirements of validity, effectiveness, and practicality to improve students' numeracy literacy. This study uses the Software Development Life Cycle using prototyping techniques as its research and development methodology. The E-NuMeka application developed was considered valid and feasible to use with the results of the validation of material experts obtaining an average value of 88.75 and 90, then the average validation assessment from media experts was 79 and 77.66 with a valid category. And shows the effectiveness in improving students' mathematical numeracy skills, this is proven by the Paired Samples Test analysis, where the significance (2-tailed) assuming the same variance is 0.000, which means it is less than 0.05. The E-NuMeka application is considered practical, with an average student questionnaire evaluation score of 80.20. This study shows that the E-NuMeka program can improve mathematical numeracy literacy skills among high school students
STUDENT'S LEARNING DIFFICULTIES ON MATHEMATICAL UNDERSTANDING OF A NUMBER PATTERN
Number patterns are a fundamental aspect of mathematics, often serving as a bridge between arithmetic and algebra. Number patterns often require students to think abstractly, identifying relationships and rules that govern the sequence of numbers. For some people, this transition from concrete to abstract thinking can be difficult. Encouraging students to visualize patterns using concrete objects or images can help bridge this gap, making abstract concepts more real. The aim of this study was to investigate the students' difficulties and how grade 9 students' mathematics approaches to number pattern problems. 32 students from a junior high schools in Tangerang participated in this case study. Purposive sampling technique is used in this study. The stages of the preliminary study involve interviewing the mathematics teacher regarding learning, administering preliminary exams, and evaluating the outcomes of the preliminary exams. Research data was collected through tests and interviews. These interviews took place post the analysis of initial test (a diagnostic tests). The result showed that the difficulty in discerning the regularity of the numerical arrangement: 1) In calculating the formula for the nth term in a number pattern, modeling is used; 2) Students frequently employ the direct proportion method to generalize patterns without taking into account the overall arrangement of numbers; 3) Observing the arrangement of numbers causes uncertainty in seeing order; 4) In generalizing number patterns, damage occurs; 5) illustrating that number patterns always have regularities, and these regularities are not always in the form of numerical differences.Pola bilangan adalah aspek mendasar dari ilmu matematika dan sering kali dianggap sebagai jembatan antara aritmatika dan aljabar. Pola bilangan mengharuskan siswa untuk berpikir abstrak, mengidentifikasi hubungan dan aturan yang mengatur barisan bilangan. Bagi sebagian orang, transisi dari pemikiran konkrit ke abstrak bisa jadi sulit. Mendorong siswa untuk memvisualisasikan pola menggunakan objek atau gambar konkret dapat membantu menjembatani kesenjangan ini, menjadikan konsep abstrak menjadi lebih nyata. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menyelidiki kesulitan siswa terhadap masalah pola bilangan pada siswa kelas 9. Adapun subjek dalam penelitian studi kasus ini adalah 32 orang siswa SMP di Tangerang. Teknik pengambilan sampel adalah dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Tahapan studi pendahuluan meliputi wawancara kepada guru matematika mengenai pembelajaran, pelaksanaan tes awal, dan evaluasi hasil ujian. Data penelitian dikumpulkan melalui tes dan wawancara. Wawancara ini dilakukan pasca analisis tes awal (tes diagnostik). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kesulitan dalam membedakan keteraturan susunan bilangan: 1) Menggunakan pemodelan dalam menghitung rumus suku ke-n suatu pola bilangan; 2) Siswa sering menggunakan metode perbandingan langsung untuk menggeneralisasi pola tanpa memperhitungkan susunan bilangan secara keseluruhan; 3) Mengamati susunan bilangan menimbulkan ketidakpastian dalam melihat keteraturan; 4) Dalam menggeneralisasi pola bilangan, terjadi ketidaksesuaian; 5) menggambarkan bahwa pola bilangan selalu mempunyai keteraturan, dan keteraturan tersebut tidak selalu berupa perbedaan angka
History of the Role of the three Friends Village Unit Cooperative (KUD) in Prospering Oil Palm Farmers in Pulau Village, Batanghari Regency, Jambi Province
This study aims to explain history of the role of the KUD of three Sekawan in the welfare of the palm oil farmer community in the village of Pulau Batanghari Regency, Jambi Province. The role in question is through the KKPA program that partnered with PT Citra Mulia Manunggal during 2012-2023. The methods used in this study are historical scientific methods, including: Heuristics, Source Criticism, Interpretation and Historiography. Based on the results of the research conducted, it is known that the KKPA program that was held by KUD three Sekawan had not been able to encourage the welfare of oil palm farmers in the village of Pulau Batanghari Jambi Regency during 2012-2023. This is because in the implementation of the KKPA, problems were encountered, including: The absence of transparency of fund management and publication distribution of business results carried out by the KUD management to cooperative members. The unclear distribution of results and the period of land surrender to cooperatives as a form of partner cooperation with PT. Citra Mulia is also not in accordance with the agreement. For this reason, further supervision is needed from all parties involved in its implementation
