    No full text
Teacher interviews revealed a lack of student enthusiasm during lessons, particularly on the topic of the human circulatory system. The media commonly used—student worksheets (LKPD) and textbooks—were considered somewhat helpful but insufficiently engaging due to their monotonous nature. Teachers also expressed the need for electronic learning media to diversify instructional methods. In response, this study developed an educational game using the Baamboozle webtool, selected for its ease of use and interactivity. The objectives of this study were to evaluate the validity of the educational game and assess student responses to its use. A Research and Development (R&D) approach was employed, following the Research-Development-Research (R-D-R) model. Data were collected through expert validation and student response questionnaires. Validation results showed high levels of validity across media design (98.18%), content (93.33%), and language (88%), all categorized as “very valid.” Student responses were also highly positive, with an average score of 92.47%. These findings indicate that the Baamboozle webtool-based educational game on the human circulatory system is highly valid and well-received by students, suggesting its effectiveness as a digital learning medium.Teacher interviews revealed a lack of student enthusiasm during lessons, particularly on the topic of the human circulatory system. This study addresses the issue of students' low ability to understand mathematical concepts, which often serves as a major obstacle in solving mathematical problems. Conceptual understanding is a fundamental skill that students must master to effectively tackle various mathematical challenges. However, field observations indicate that many students struggle to grasp mathematical concepts due to a lack of active engagement in the learning process. Therefore, innovation in teaching methods is necessary, one of which is the implementation of the STEM PjBL (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics Project-Based Learning) model. This model is designed to provide project-based learning experiences that allow students to explore concepts directly, work collaboratively, and connect learning to real-world situations.  This study employs a quasi-experimental method with a Post-Test Only Control Group design. The research population consists of all 11th-grade students at a public senior high school in Singaraja, with two classes selected as samples through cluster random sampling. Data were collected using essay tests to measure students' conceptual understanding of mathematics and analyzed using a one-tailed t-test at a 5% significance level. The results indicate that students who learned using the STEM PjBL model demonstrated a better understanding of mathematical concepts compared to those who participated in conventional learning

Curriculum changes have operational consequences for their implementation by teachers as the frontline implementers. Not all teachers have easy access to curriculum socialization information, resulting in low understanding and difficulty in implementing the expected learning. On the other hand, elementary school is a transitional stage from preschool to formal school, which raises problems when children are not ready. Guidance and counseling (BK) as a party that can help intervene if there is a problem, there are no special personnel assigned to elementary schools. Guidance and counseling in elementary schools must still be carried out by class teachers. The golden age is at an early age (PAUD level) and early elementary school classes, requiring stimulation so that the development of various aspects is optimal. Class teachers with various administrative tasks and teaching tasks for almost all subjects will have difficulty providing stimulation for individual student development. The characteristics of lower and upper grade elementary school students are different, requiring a relevant BK learning/service approach. Child development problems can be experienced by children at the elementary school age stage, both in learning, personal, social, and career problems. Permendikbud 111 of 2014 has mandated that there are BK teachers in elementary schools, but its implementation in the field has not yet been realized. This article presents a study of various problems in elementary school children, furthermore it is expected that appropriate alternative solutions can be provided. After knowing the various problems in the field and also from theoretical studies, teaching materials or service materials can be developed that are enjoyable for students, in accordance with the development stage, and help facilitate class teachers in providing optimal development stimulation to their students

Despite growing emphasis on reading literacy in educational policy, limited attention has been given to the specific contributions of reading attitude and reading interest to students’ functional reading achievement (FRA), particularly among junior high school learners. This study examines the relationship between various aspects of reading attitude and interest and students’ FRA, providing empirical insights from a less-explored context. The objectives were to examine students’ FRA, reading attitude, and reading interest; the correlations among these variables; and the extent to which attitude and interest contribute to FRA. Data were collected through the Functional Reading Achievement Test (FRAT) and the Attitude Toward and Interest in Reading Literacy (ATIReaL) questionnaire, administered to 237 students at state junior high schools in Seberang Ulu 1 and 2, Palembang. Results indicated that students’ FRA was very low (mean = 41.78), with no significant difference between male and female students. While students generally showed a positive attitude toward reading, their reading interests varied. Correlation analysis showed no significant relationship between total scores of FRA and total scores of reading attitude or interest. However, two specific attitude components and 17 interest components were significantly correlated with FRA. Among them, seven interest items and two attitude items significantly contributed to FRA. The highest contribution came from interest in another language (6.1%) and the attitude of reading to learn new things (5.2%). These findings suggest that although overall reading disposition may not directly predict FRA, certain specific interests and attitudes play a meaningful role in shaping students’ reading performance

Natural Science learning at the elementary, high school and university levels is certainly closely related to the practicum learning method. Practical activities, experiments and observations of objects and direct phenomena can motivate students and can bridge students to gain direct experience in studying science phenomena that cannot be obtained from ordinary textbooks. In preparing laboratory activities, it is necessary to consider whether the practicum worksheet can guide and direct students to form knowledge or not. Most practicum worksheets in circulation today have not yet reached the expected criteria, one of which is a worksheet on plant respiration in one of the science packagebooks for junior high school / MTs grade 8. Based on this, it is necessary to conduct an analysis and reconstruction to improve the existing worksheets. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method. There are three stages carried out in this study, namely: 1) analyzing the initial practicum worksheet; 2) conducting a limited trial on the initial practicum worksheet; and 3) reconstructing the practicum worksheet based on the trial results. Several weaknesses and obstacles were found during the trial which became the basis for improving the worksheets. Reconstruction of the worksheet was then carried out based on the suggestions for improvement obtained during the trial. After reconstruction, the practicum worksheet for respiration in plants experienced an increase in score, which was originally in the sufficient category (44%) to the very good category (83%). Science education at the elementary, secondary, and university levels is closely linked to the use of practical learning methods. Laboratory activities, including experiments and direct observation of objects and phenomena, serve to motivate students and provide hands-on experiences that are often unavailable through textbooks alone. A key consideration in designing laboratory activities is whether the practicum worksheet effectively guides students in constructing scientific understanding. However, many existing practicum worksheets fail to meet expected standards, including one on plant respiration found in a commonly used science textbook for Grade 8 junior high school/MTs. This study aims to analyze and reconstruct that worksheet to improve its quality. A descriptive qualitative approach was used, comprising three stages: (1) analysis of the initial worksheet, (2) limited trial implementation, and (3) reconstruction based on trial feedback. Several weaknesses were identified during the trial, which informed the revisions. Following reconstruction, the worksheet's quality improved significantly, with its evaluation score increasing from 44% (categorized as "sufficient") to 83% ("very good")
