Platform Politics: Commonwealth Magazine and the Mediatization of ESG in Taiwan
This study explores how CommonWealth Magazine has adapted to platformization and data integration through evolving partnerships with corporate stakeholders. Drawing on insider access and interviews with journalists, data strategists, and CSR professionals, the analysis highlights three key dynamics: (1) the central role of data visualization in editorial coordination and stakeholder communication; (2) the incorporation of partner-generated CSR data into the magazine’s visualization systems; and (3) the ambivalent place of AI, which offers new content curation tools but raises concerns about audience displacement and copyright. While CommonWealth Magazine maintains a critical editorial stance, its engagement with CSR and ESG primarily serves to distinguish itself within an increasingly saturated financial media landscape. This case study shows that the platformization of legacy media extends well beyond content digitization or visualization as a communicative device. Rather, it involves the integration of external data infrastructures and the formation of long-term, system-level partnerships with corporate and governmental actors—initiatives that raise complex legal, financial, and reputational questions. As corporate subscribers take on greater strategic significance, CommonWealth Magazine exemplifies how legacy media institutions in non-Western contexts are redefining journalistic roles while navigating tensions between credibility, infrastructure, and the uncertain terrain of the platform economy
Do estado de direito social ao estado de direito da natureza? A questão da personalidade jurídica de entes naturais não humanos
The article begins by following well-trodden paths about the meaning of person, its etymological origin and historical development, and the advent and scope of the institute of legal personality. He then lists several cases of attribution, in the present century, of legal personality to non-human natural entities, whether based on naturalistic/animistic worldviews or on the idea of a natural contract, and as the only way to save the planet in this epoch of the Anthropocene. From there, the article develops a whole argument against this path and argues that a state of social and environmental/ecological rule of law, with an anthropocentric foundation, based on duties and an ethics of responsibility, dialogical and caring, are the answer to an adequate protection of the environment and nature, while demonstrating that the use of the innovation of the attribution of legal personality to non-human natural entities adds nothing to what is it is carried out today at the level of discourses, norms and legal institutions, in preventive and repressive terms.O artigo começa por percorrer caminhos já muito trilhados acerca do significado de pessoa, sua origem etimológica e desenvolvimento histórico e o advento e alcance do instituto da personalidade jurídica.

The Anishaman Presents Gilgamesh: Where Rap Meets Animation, Interactivity, and Fog
With the advent of the internet and the ever-increasing capabilities of digital technology, today’s society is in the midst of a golden era of interactive storytelling. While digital innovations have facilitated and accentuated interactivity, it has always been a crucial aspect of storytelling. Existing millenniums before the written word, oral tradition is the earliest form of storytelling and arguably the foundation of interactive storytelling. At oral tradition’s core is a live human interactivity, emanating from the chemistry between the storyteller and the participatory audience. The practice is multi-disciplinary utilising a vibrant array of performative and visual arts, such as songs, dances, masks, and jewellery.
This research proposes that digital innovations can play a role in reinvigorating oral tradition for contemporary audiences, and in doing so rediscover the roots of interactive storytelling. The Anishaman Presents Gilgamesh is a live one-man rap retelling of Gilgamesh, wherein the storyteller conjures animation on a fog display and rear projection screen and interacts with their audience via mobile phone surveys. This paper reports on the trials and tribulations of mounting such a multi-disciplinary unwieldly beast.
Gilgamesh is central to this project, due to its status as one of the first oral traditions ever written down, emanating from Sumerian oral traditions as old as 2500 BCE. While Anishaman’s adaptation is arguably unhinged, the format is shaped to leverage oral tradition’s interactive attributes, namely: performance, participation, malleability, and voice. Performance is embodied by the show’s performative influences: the magic lantern show, Étienne-Robertson’s Fantasmagorie, Winsor McCay’s Gertie the Dinosaur, and the Japanese benshi. These directed the project towards a synergy between the showman and the screen. Participation and malleability are modernised through the use mobile phones interactivity to augment the connection between storyteller and showman. Lastly, voice is embodied by the contemporary verbal art of rap. Naturally, these elements influenced the production pipeline, which culminated in two live performances of Anishaman. Overall, the project’s blending of narrative techniques and technology supplements and augments the interactive attributes of oral tradition, ultimately reconciling the oldest form of interactive storytelling with the latest iterations
As (micro)agressões no racismo quotidiano em Portugal: uma análise quantitativa
This article reflects on the various manifestations of everyday racism in Portugal based on the categories of racial microaggressions, as conceived by Charles Peirce, developed by Derald Sue, and scaled according to the Racial Microaggression Scale (RAMS). It then analyzes the results of the Preliminary Diagnostic Survey “Everyday Racism in Portugal,” conducted as part of the AGRRIN - Gerando Corpos Project. From aggression to insurgency: contributions to a decolonial pedagogy (FCT 2022.06269.PTDC), which involved the participation of 140 black individuals, Afro-descendants, and/or individuals of African origin. In addition to presenting the variety of aggressions suffered by the interviewees, the research also reflects the potential for insurgencies against such behaviors.

Artistic Research Now: Status Quo Based on the Research and Innovation Initiatives of FilmEU_RIT and Beyond
Editorials typically start with discussions on emerging debates that may later establish new fields, often including future predictions and outlining potential roadmaps. Qua Vadis is a genre in its own right, as a result. This does not appear to be necessary or appropriate any longer when discussing artistic or practice-based research (from hereafter “artistic research”). Firstly, several opinions have already mapped out the potential future trajectories of artistic research. More importantly, a decade or more has usually passed since their original publication. Fifteen years have passed since an important issue of Art and Research: A Journal of Ideas, Contexts and Methods (Birell, ed. 2009: 1–2), which explored the emergent field from a myriad of angles, and just short of fifteen years ago, a seminal collection – The Routledge Companion to Research in the Arts (Biggs and Karlsson, eds. 2010: xiii–xvi) – was published that aimed to start the discussion from first principles
Must the citizen be fully aware of all the legal rules before he can implement his conduct project? Wouldn't this affect the general core of the citizen's freedom of action?
