This research aims to investigate the substantial influence of price fairness, logistics services, and performance in handling product returns, e-service quality, and customer satisfaction on customer loyalty within the context of Chinese e-commerce platforms. Employing both primary and secondary data collection methods, the study analyzes the factors shaping customer loyalty among 390 respondents who made purchases on Chinese e-commerce platforms. Drawing upon insights from four established theoretical frameworks in previous studies, a new conceptual framework is devised for this research. The findings indicate that logistics services play a crucial role in enhancing customer satisfaction, underscoring their significant impact. Moreover, price fairness and effectiveness in handling product returns are identified as contributors to positive customer satisfaction. Importantly, customer satisfaction emerges as a pivotal factor influencing customer loyalty. However, it is essential to acknowledge the study's limitations, as it exclusively targets Chinese domestic online consumers. Consequently, the generalizability of the findings may be constrained when applied to diverse cultural backgrounds or international consumers. This research contributes to the field by spotlighting the key factors that shape customer loyalty within the unique landscape of Chinese domestic e-commerce platforms. By examining these factors, the study provides valuable insights for businesses seeking to enhance customer loyalty in the dynamic and competitive Chinese e-commerce market

This study employed quantitative methods to address two primary objectives: 1) to compare the quality of 5-choice and 4-choice multiple-choice tests, and 2) to evaluate the discriminant power of these formats using test response theory with kernel smoothing. Data were collected from 1,966 students at Sukhothai Thammathirat Open University who took a 120-question multiple-choice exam during the second semester of 2019. Four test configurations were analyzed: the Initial Case utilized the original 5-choice format; Case 1 randomly omitted one option from the 5-choice test, excluding the correct answer; Case 2 randomly omitted one option, including the correct answer; and Case 3 adapted the options based on the test-taker’s proficiency level. The study employed Cronbach’s Alpha (denoted as raw_alpha) as a reliability metric, discovering varying levels of reliability across the four cases. The highest reliability was observed in Case 3 with a raw_alpha value of 0.87. There were no differences in the difficulty values or discriminatory power across all cases. The mean scores indicated that students generally performed better on the 4-choice tests in Cases 1-3 than on the original 5-choice format, referred to as the Initial Case. These findings have significant implications for test design, suggesting that 4-choice tests can achieve comparable reliability and discriminatory power to traditional 5-choice tests

COMPASSION FOR THE OTHER IN LEVINAS AND BUDDHISM: THE CASE OF THE BODHISATTVA

    Get PDF
The philosophy of Levinas, gives a primacy to ethicsover ontology, and a primacy of the other over the self. This is something which is also found in the traditionof Mahayana Buddhism, especially with regard tocompassion, and the idea of the role of the Bodhisattva. This paper compares Levinas’s philosophy of ethics withthe teaching of Mahayana Buddhism and and demonstrateshow they are connected by their emphasis on the virtue ofcompassion. Both advocate a departure from the ego-selfto the compassion for the other. Levinas like Buddhismredefines subjectivity through its responsibility to theother. So reading Levinas through Buddhism allows usto understand the shift from the Western idea of the selfto the responsibility towards the other, and it allows usto understand the responsibility the self has towardsaddressing the suffering of the other. Also reading Levinasthrough Buddhism allows us to understand a respect fornon-human nature which remains within the framework ofLevinas’ philosophy
