Purpose: This paper analyzes the factors affecting behavioral intentions of female students in Chengdu, China, to use and purchase mobile reading applications. The conceptual framework proposes the causal relationship among perceived value, satisfaction, service quality, trust, social influence, perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use and behavioral intention. Research design, data, and methodology: In this study, 840 female students were investigated by using judgmental, stratified random, and convenience sampling. The primary data collection tool was a questionnaire. Statistical software was used for data analysis, using confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) and structural equation model (SEM). The validity and reliability test were accounted to verify the data. Results: Perceived value and service quality significantly impact satisfaction towards trust and behavioral intention. Perceived ease of use has a significant impact on perceived usefulness. Furthermore, behavioral intention is significantly impacted by social influence and perceived usefulness but not by perceived ease of use. Conclusion: Software developers should pay attention to consumer needs to be able to attract college students with high-quality content and ensure payment security. To sum up, the findings are helpful for mobile reading developers to enhance the behavioral intention to purchase and use the mobile reading apps in China

Purpose: This study examines what factors affect the satisfaction and continuance intention of college students majoring in English translation and interpreting on cloud-based e-learning. The conceptual framework consists of task-technology fit, learning-technology fit, interactivity, course content quality, course design quality, organizational support, perceived usefulness, satisfaction and continuance intention. Research design, data, and methodology: A quantitative research method was used to distribute questionnaires to three Ningxia universities and perform data analysis. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) and Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) were applied to analyze the collected results and examine the pre-designed hypotheses' model fit, reliability, and validity. Results: It was found that satisfaction was the strongest predictor of continuance intention, followed by perceived usefulness. In addition to learning-technology fit as an antecedent, task-technology fit, interactivity, course content quality, course design quality, and organizational support showed significant and positive effects on satisfaction and perceived usefulness. Conclusion: Achieving and improving the satisfaction of students to use cloud-based e-learning is the priority for developers, administrators, and teachers. For organizations, adequate support for users and cloud-based e-learning is beneficial to enhance users' perceived usefulness. For developers, updating and ensuring a high degree of technical alignment of the system with the user's mission is an effective approach

The samples in this research were 480 software development employees of INTO company. A questionnaire was used to collect data and test the hypothesis by confirmatory factor analysis. The results showed that the competency factor model was consistent with the empirical data, with a value of c2 equal to 280.42 and a p-value equal to .000, c2/df is equal to 1.650, GFI is equal to 0.96, AGFI is equal to 0.90, CFI is equal to 0.99, NFI is equal to 0.98, RMR is equal to 0.04, and RMSEA is equal to 0.04. The competency factor model of software developers consists of three components: Professional knowledge and skills, interpersonal competence, and personality traits

Factors Influencing Intentions to Return Express Delivery Packages for Next Use in A Developing Country

    Get PDF
The rapid growth of the e-commerce and logistics industries has generated considerable express packaging waste, which is steadily harming the environment. Thus, achieving a sustainable e-commerce system has become crucial. This study aims to identify the factors that affect intentions to return Express Delivery Packages (EDPs) for next use by applying the extended Theory of Planned Behaviour (TPB) in a developing country context. The research data were gathered through an online survey in Thailand. In total, 426 responses were obtained using convenience sampling. This paper presents the constructed model and results of the empirical data analysis which utilized a Covariance-Based Structural Equation Modelling (CB-SEM) approach. The results reveal that attitude, subjective norms, perceived behavioral control, and awareness of consequences, significantly impact intentions. Surprisingly, the hypotheses for convenience, incentive, and risk perception, did not affect intentions to return. The contributions to the literature on reverse logistics include improving understanding of the consumer perspective as well as providing insights to the government and express delivery operators for understanding the relative magnitude of factors that lead to intentions to return EDPs, which can provide guidance in forming strategies that will encourage the involvement of more enviormentally friendly practises, in line with circular goals

The Development of Chatbot Provided Registration Information Services for Students in Distance Learning

    Get PDF
In recent years, chatbots have become crucial, particularly for assisting students with real-time registration information. This research focused on 1) synthesizing registry works related to information provided for students, 2) designing chatbots and conversation structures in the form of interactive conversations between students and robots for answering questions and providing information tailored to their needs, and 3) examining and evaluating the use of chatbots in providing information services to students, while analyzing the accuracy and suitability of the developed chatbot. This study, based on research and development, utilized a sample consisting of 16 staff directly involved in the provision of registration information to students and 255 undergraduate students from Sukhothai Thammathirat Open University, with respondents being selected through a simple random sampling technique. The synthesis of the research results revealed the following findings: 1) A qualitative study revealed that the registration information related to students, called STOU Journey, consisted of 10 issues, and was required for the whole learning period. 2) The result of the design and development of the chatbot revealed that the developer chatbot could be used on both the website and the LINE application. It was also found that the chatbot could answer most questions correctly and completely. The chatbot responded quickly and was easy to use. The chatbot used language that was easy to understand and natural, while 3) satisfactory evaluation results from 255 undergraduate students showed that overall, students who had used the completed version of the chatbot were satisfied with the use of the chatbot at a high level (Mean = 4.19, SD = 0.98) while they also felt that the chatbot was easy to use (Mean = 4.33, SD = 0.95) and the using the chatbot felt like a natural conversation (Mean = 4.22, SD = 0.99)

Understanding Managerial Action in Business Model Transformation of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises

    Get PDF
Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs) typically adapt their business model opportunistically with new value propositions, adding partnerships or improving their cost structure. Business model transformation has been proven to drive SMEs innovation and success, however, the role of SME managers in facilitating such transformation remains unclear. While peer-to-peer sharing has received much attention in public debates and academic research, sharing among firms is largely neglected in both. Looking at current opportunities for SMEs in business-to-business (B2B) sharing, this research aims to identify recurring patterns of manager’s activities along a business model transformation for which a cross-case analysis with Swiss SMEs was used along several cycles of action research with semi-structured, deductively coded interviews. The research identified three phases of management action: managers focus on identifying the business opportunity, they adjust processes and technical infrastructure to enable their organization to seize the opportunity and involve the entire organization to ensure a lasting change in their business model. While the impact of B2B sharing on each SME may be considered limited, this research offers original insights how managers drive business model transformation in SMEs. It illustrates a novel process in three distinct phases while identifying dedicated managerial action for each phase
