Status of Green Banking in Islamic and Traditional Banks of Pakistan
The emergence of green banking has greatly increased the fierce competition between Islamic and traditional banks in Pakistan. Therefore, this study explores the current status of green banking in Islamic and traditional banks of Pakistan and the underlying reasons behind that status. A survey with semi-structured interviews was conducted between November 2019 and March 2020 among twenty banks. Overall, the findings reveal that the current level of green banking is low, but that Islamic banks still lead in green initiatives among banks in Pakistan. However, in certain sub-issues of green banking, there exist differences between the two groups of banks in terms of most and least implemented sub- issues. These differences arise from various factors, including the lack of awareness of the need for change, lack of knowledge and skills in green banking, lack of customer and institutional pressure for change, lack of incentives for change, lack of legal power to enforce change, banking culture in general, the culture of resistance to change, and the relative lack of malleability of the existing infrastructure. Further, this study is the first in the literature that describes the level of green banking for Islamic and traditional banks of Pakistan through the green banking index
The Role of Green Supply Chain Management in Predicting Indonesian Firms’ Performance: Competitive Advantage and Board Size Influence
This study examines the effect of green supply chain management (GSCM) on firm performance, with competitive advantage as mediation and board size as moderation. Purposive sampling method was used to examine 516 PROPER companies from 2010 to 2018. Data were obtained from the Indonesia Stock Exchange. Results show that GSCM has a positive effect on competitive advantage but does not affect firm performance, whereas competitive advantage has a positive effect on firm performance. Moreover, competitive advantage can mediate the relationship between GSCM and firm performance. Board size cannot moderate the relationship between GSCM and competitive advantage, but it can moderate the relationship between competitive advantage and firm performance and the relationship between GSCM and firm performance. The results of this study can be used to improve firm performance of companies concerned with environmental impact. The research findings contribute to the idea that board size has a role in strengthening the implementation of GSCM to create competitive advantages that can increase firm performance
Pollution, Global Diseases, Government, and Inequality
Minorities and poor people have higher rates of mortality due to various causes of deaths. Part of this phenomenon is due their higher exposure to unhealthy environments. In this paper we show that the onset of Covid-19 was associated with higher death rates among the disadvantaged population. Specifically, we document that the environmental air quality can affect the spread of the novel coronavirus and that this effect is more pronounced in low-income neighborhoods and for counties with lower average education and higher share of blacks. The fact that environment is more impactful among the disadvantaged population calls for policies that protect the poor and minorities during a global disease

The sample of the study (female = 184, male = 131) consists of 315 students of sports management department, which was reached using the convenience sampling method, and a 95% confidence interval has been used with an error margin of 5%. Data from the participants were collected with Self-Esteem Scale and Leadership Orientation Scale. Since the data has normal distribution, parametric tests have been used: correlation to measure the relationship between two variables, and regression analysis to measure the effect of the independent variable on the dependent variable. A significant positive relationship was found with the self-esteem levels of the students and their leadership orientation in general and in sub-dimensions of task-oriented and relationship-oriented. In addition, self-esteem levels were found to have a significant effect on students' leadership orientation in general and in task-oriented and relationship-oriented sub-dimensions. Non-Oil Export and Exchange Rate Nexus in Nigeria: Another Empirical Verification
This study examined the nexus between Exchange Rate and Non-Oil Export in Nigeria using time series data from 1985 to 2018. Secondary data were sourced from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) and World Bank Development Indicators (WDI). The study adopted Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) model and it was fitted with Seven variables; namely, Non-oil Export (NOE), Exchange Rate (EXR), Credit to Private Sector (CPS), Trade Openness (OPN), Inflation (INF), Interest Rate (INT) and Foreign Direct Investment (FDI). The results showed that the exchange rate has a positive and significant impact on non-oil export in Nigeria. Therefore, the study recommended that the Government should encourage international trade to boost non-oil export and increase foreign exchange earnings. Also, there is a need for the government to improve the financial institutions to make investment funds available. Lastly, there is a need to revisit the export-oriented policy to ensure that the non-oil sector is well catered for

Thus, the aim of this investigation is to explore Chilean teachers’ perceptions in relation to Emergency Remote Teaching (ERT) within the COVID-19 context. The methodology includes a dynamic online questionnaire to allow a large number of educators to be included in the study. Some of the findings include the substantial curricular adaptation made by teachers, the use of teachers’ own resources to contact students, the overall low level of satisfaction with remote teaching, as well as the increased working hours, and the different connectivity conditions and levels of student participation depending on the socio-economic profile of the school. The conclusions of this research are discussed from the perspective of the hypotheses presented in this study
