    Get PDF
This study aims to explore the impact of an anti-corruption education course on the perception of anomie among 358 undergraduate students from two public universities. The study adopted a mixed-methods research design. The experimental group received a six-week anti-corruption education course comprising video-based modules while the control group received no intervention. Participants' perceptions of anomie were assessed using pre- and post-test surveys. Additionally, semi-structured interviews were conducted with a subset of participants from the experimental group. Two-way repeated measures analysis of variance and interview transcript thematic analysis were both used to analyse the data.  The results demonstrated a significantly greater decline in anomie over time in the experimental group compared to the control group. Thematic analysis of the interview data provided further insight into participants’ understanding of the negative consequences associated with corrupt practices. The results demonstrate that the anti-corruption intervention is helpful in reducing students' unethical attitudes and strengthening their commitment to moral conduct.  Participants in the course provided positive reviews. Additionally, they shared that their viewpoints on different facets of corruption had undergone some changes. The results of this study have practical implications for both researchers and practitioners in the field of anti-corruption education

    Get PDF
Understanding factors affecting student academic and life outcomes may be critical for social work programs and educational institutions. Therefore, this study aims to explore the relationships   between resilience, technostress   and reflective capacity among social work students. A cross-sectional non-experimental research design was used. One hundred and sixty-three social work students completed an online survey measuring technostress level, reflective capacity and psychological resilience. Data were analyzed using Pearson’s to estimate linear correlations, confirmatory factor analysis to ensure model fit and structural equation modeling with covariates to reveal the relationships between the measured constructs. The results indicated that resilience had a direct and negative effect on technostress, a positive and direct effect on reflective capacity and a negative indirect effect on technostress through reflective capacity. This means that social work students with higher levels of resilience had lower levels of technostress related to technology use were more likely to engage in reflective practices and had lower levels of technostress due to improved reflective capacity. These findings emphasize the significance of resilience and reflective practices in mitigating the negative effects of technology use among social work students. However, researchers should be cautious about generalizing findings due to the sample’s limitations and future investigations should consider longitudinal data from diverse populations

The existence of digital technology is currently seen as a system that helps teachers satisfy the needs of their students.  The utilization of technology facilitates teachers’ ability to address students' low critical thinking abilities. Therefore, this research studied the utilization of Metaverse   technology   applications based on Science, Technology, Engineering   and Mathematics (Meta-STEM) to improve critical thinking   skills. The study used a quantitative research approach and adopted the true experimental design method. A pre- and post-tests control group   design was used in this study. The research findings revealed a significant difference between the average outcomes of using Metaverse technology applications in the experimental group compared to the control group. Meta-STEM technology supported by the internet provides a fresh perspective on teaching methods   especially in education. The present teaching methods use both virtual learning platforms and conventional face-to-face classrooms.  The interaction process is becoming more dynamic   and obtaining and searching for information is more accessible without spatial or temporal limitations. The implications of Meta-STEM for supporting learning can increase students' ability to gain information. In addition, there are numerous   advantages to using Meta-STEM in the field of education for training and education.   Providing impressive learning methods for students and teachers, making it easier for teachers to convey complex material, increasing students' level of understanding of the learning material presented by teachers  as well as Meta-STEM can provide knowledge to master technology for students

Dynamic blend of ethnoscience and inquiry in a digital learning platform (e-learning) for empowering future science educators' critical thinking

    Get PDF
Inquiry-based learning overcomes the gap between the acquisition of knowledge through discovery though it is not always directly proportional to students' development of critical thinking (CT). Knowledge about the real-world contexts in which children will learn is the first step in cultivating CT in science learning. Science inquiry is most relevant when it is linked to the cultural context and local wisdom in which students are growing and developing. On one hand, the current focus of learning is on digital systems which can also provide opportunities to enhance CT. The current study aims to implement a blend of inquiry-based learning and Ethnoscience on a digital learning platform (e-learning) and assess its effect on the pre-service science teachers’ (PSTs) CT abilities. The study is conducted using an experimental method involving PSTs as participants. Several valid test instruments are employed to measure CT skills and the results are analyzed. According to the study's findings, there have been notable advancements in CT due to the digital learning platform's dynamic fusion of Ethnoscience and inquiry.  This study demonstrates that the dynamic blend of Ethnoscience and inquiry in a digital learning platform can serve as a cutting-edge learning method for empowering CT particularly in future science teachers

    Get PDF
The purpose of this paper is to identify protective factors for students' anxiety management under exam stress.    Students experience a range of negative emotions in addition to exam anxiety throughout university exams including stress, fear of knowledge assessments and fear of low performance. However, students ‘exam preparation and passing can be changed by identifying protective factors for exam stress coping while focusing less on reducing risk factors. Possible protective factors for exam anxiety coping in the present study were resilience, self-efficacy, stress tolerance, overall life satisfaction and coping behavior. In general, our assumption was confirmed that stress tolerance, proactive coping behavior, overall life satisfaction and resilience are the most important factors in overcoming exam fear. Self-efficacy as a latent factor that has a significant impact on overcoming exam fear was not identified. The study validated that stress tolerance, proactive coping, life satisfaction and resilience are pivotal in conquering exam-related fear. However, self-efficacy did not emerge as a significant factor

    Get PDF
In this study, it is aimed to examine the perceptions of the mathematics teacher candidates regarding the concept of fraction. 32 teacher candidates participated in the research carried out in the screening model. The word association test was used as a data collection tool and the obtained data were analyzed by content analysis method. According to the results of the analysis, it is seen that the perceptions of teacher candidates regarding the concept of fraction are mostly concentrated in the themes of meanings of fractions, operations in fractions, and representation of fractions. In addition, the themes of numbers, notation, and other mathematical topics in which it is used are other themes that emerged. It was seen that the teacher candidates expressed the quotient meaning at most, they did not mention the percent meaning. It was seen that they mostly expressed the addition operation in fractions and the type of compound fraction. As a result, it is seen that pre-service teachers' perceptions about the concept of fraction are limited. Pre-service teachers can be given a more comprehensive and relational education on the concept of fraction

The fiscal theory of the price level: The case of Morocco

    Get PDF
In this paper, we will use the econometric model and the price-level fiscal theory (PLFT), which looks at how the government surplus, debt, and inflation interact to apply a vector autoregression (VAR) model to the Moroccan economy. We first want to figure out how fiscal and monetary policy shocks affect the economy. The second thing we want to do is study how fiscal and monetary policy affects each other. So, the theoretical limits we used to determine our model are based on an FTPL framework. The general price level budget and Keynesian theories are not entirely wrong because of what we found. Also, the fact that most of the variation in inflation can be explained by changes in the money supply suggests that monetary policy works well in the Moroccan economy to control inflation. However, debt policy has little effect on this control. The government is worried about the level of public debt in Morocco because it positively affects the economy. Also, the positive effects over time should give the government confidence that the debt policy is working. So, debt dynamics still need to be a reason to worry because they would help the economy overall. Because it has a negligible effect on the economy immediately and lowers inflation, the government should pay less attention to the amount of debt and how quickly it grows

Experimental determination of the boundaries of the influence of a stope working on the earth's surface

    Get PDF
The theoretical part of the research methodology is developed according to the scheme of subsidence of points on the earth's surface relative to the projection of the face. The curve of the trajectory of the subsidence of the earth's surface is divided by characteristic points at different stages of subsidence of the earth's surface. Such stages include: the beginning of the displacement of the earth's surface, the active stage of displacement, the end of the active stage and the attenuation of the processes of subsidence of the earth's surface. According to the goal and the design scheme, on the basis of experimental data, we determined the parameters corresponding to the location of a point on the earth's surface where it began to settle. In relation to the scheme under consideration, three well-known dependencies were analyzed to describe the subsidence curve of the earth's surface: the exponential equation, the hyperbolic tangent function, and the logistic curve. Based on them, it was established that the main influencing factor determining the boundary of the dynamic half-mold is the depth of mining operations, and the boundary angles are practically independent of this parameter

This study surveyed the resources senior secondary school English language teachers use in teaching vocabulary in Ibadan North. The descriptive research design of the survey type was employed in the study. Using the purposive sampling technique, all the two hundred and twenty-four (224) English and Literature-in-English teachers in the study area as at the time of this study constituted the sample based on the intervening variables of gender, qualification, school type and experience. Only one hundred and ninety-six (196) questionnaires were properly filled and returned. A reliability coefficient of r = 0.90 was obtained using the Pearson Product Moment Correlation Statistics. This showed that the items were of high stake. Findings revealed that the teachers seemed to make more frequent use of non-human instructional resources for teaching vocabulary than the human instructional resources. Also, there were no significant differences on teachers’ qualification, school type and experience except for gender. It was concluded that, aside from teachers’ gender, no other variable had any influence on the resources used for the teaching of vocabulary in senior secondary schools in Ibadan North. It was thus recommended that teachers should employ both human and non-human teaching resources during the teaching and learning of vocabulary

The Readiness of Consumers to Adopt Green Hotels in Indonesia: Does Trust Matter?

    Get PDF
The number of hotels and consumers that are concerned about the green concept has been increasing, on the other hand, consumers are also becoming skeptical towards the practice of greenwash. Due to the limited availability of research regarding trust in green hotels in developing countries, the purpose of this study is to examine how the influence of attributes on green hotels can affect attitude, intention to stay, and willingness to pay a premium price, as well as how trust can mediate this relationship. The data were collected through a purposive sampling survey of 152 hotel consumers in Indonesia who could identify 5 of the 15 features of green hotels. The data were analyzed using the partial least squares method. The results confirm that the green hotel attributes do not affect the willingness to pay premium prices either with the existence or the absence of trust as a mediating factor. However, this research reveals that consumer trust is essential because it can be a mediating factor that can raise the willingness to stay at green hotels. This research is valuable to provide insight for hotel managers to develop strategies to increase the trust and sales of targeted green customers
