    Get PDF
Students generally consider scholastic achievement to be the grade they receive after a period of specific instruction. Researchers evaluate a person's scholastic achievement based on the knowledge and skills they have developed in the academic domain, as well as the test results they have obtained. Scholastic achievement is one of the critical parameters to measure affluence; therefore, researchers are keen to investigate the various dimensions that are going to affect it directly or indirectly. The present study focuses on analyzing the distinct dimensions of the home and school environment that show a direct association with adolescents' scholastic achievement. The study uses a correlational research design. This study has selected a sample of 154 individuals from the Delhi region of India. The results obtained through correlation and regression analysis clearly indicate that control and rejection in school settings, along with a permissive home environment, significantly predict the scholastic achievement of female adolescents. The results also revealed that a permissive, protective, and punishing home environment, as well as restrictions imposed in a school setting, are significant predictors of male adolescents' scholastic achievement. From this, it can be concluded that the home environment and school environment dimensions play a pivotal role in the attainment of scholastic achievement among adolescents

    Get PDF
This academic article, utilizing an analytical literature review, aimed to explore the multifaceted roles of English for Specific Purposes (ESP) practitioners. It was found that there were five key roles responsible by the practitioners: (1) teaching; (2) course designing and material providing; (3) researching; (4) collaborating; and (5) evaluating. Performing the teaching role, practitioners facilitate learning, integrate subject-specific content, and foster authentic communication. As course designers and material providers, ESP practitioners adopt language-centered, skills-centered, and learning-centered approaches, as well as the cyclical process of needs analysis, ensuring relevance and authenticity in their courses. ESP practitioners, in their role as researchers, actively participate in action research to develop their professional identities within the ESP context. Collaboration with subject teachers and colleagues also emerges as a crucial aspect, ranging from cooperation to team-teaching, with associated challenges. Lastly, ESP practitioners serve as evaluators, assessing teaching methods, materials, and student learning outcomes, emphasizing fair and constructive evaluation aligned with academic and professional achievements. The discussion highlights the dynamic and comprehensive nature of ESP practitioners' responsibilities, requiring ongoing adaptation and improvement in response to the evolving demands of ESP instruction. Moreover, clear national educational and language policies of English as a Foreign Language (EFL) countries should be emphasized to succeed in their ESP education

Can green technologies serve as a pathway for women's socioeconomic inclusion in Africa?

    Get PDF
This study aims to evaluate the effects of green technology innovations on the socio-economic integration of women in Africa from 2014 to 2023. To achieve this goal, a quantitative analysis of longitudinal data has been utilized through econometric techniques such as fixed effects models, Lewbel 2SLS (Two Stage Least Square) 2SLS estimates, and panel quantile models to address and mitigate potential endogeneity bias. The findings show a direct impact on women’s employment in high- and middle-income countries, particularly in renewable energy generation and sustainable agriculture, as a result of increased use of green technologies. Additionally, in these countries, better availability of renewable energy is related to the advancements made by women's education and household health. Yet, access to the economic opportunities that this technology enables for many women in lower-income parts of the world remains scarce. Hence, it is necessary to mainstream gender and institutional issues more into the green technology policies in Africa. It would lead to a fairer sharing of the socio-economic gains arising out of green technology adoption and help in promoting sustainable development

    SME’s leadership in improving performance

    Get PDF
The discussions about leadership and performance never end. Successful leadership (LD) is a causal factor in good individual performance (IP). However, how it affects still requires a lot of proof. This research examined the influence of LD on IP both directly and mediated by individual internal variables. This research examined the mediating variables of the influence of LD on IP. The research was conducted on 416 employees of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Yogyakarta, Indonesia using a questionnaire whose validity and reliability were tested. Once the data meets the requirements of the multiple linear regression test, the multiple linear regression (MLR) method was carried out to test the direct influence of LD, motivation (MT) and job satisfaction (JS) on IP. Structural equation modeling (SEM) with a two-step approach was used to test the mediation model. Increased IP is not immediately caused by LD. However, leaders can increase MT and JS directly. MT consistently improves IP, but JS has no effect on IP. The results of this study strengthen the results of previous research that the influence of LD on IP is mediated by MT and JS. A discussion of the results of this research is presented after the presentation of the analysis of the research results

    Get PDF
The impression of a company’s performance by an investor is known as firm value. The growth in the stock price of a corporation indicates good performance. The company’s ability to prosper its shareholders is demonstrated by the increase in its share price. Many factors influence the company’s worth, including both internal and external issues. The objectives of this study are to investigate 1) the impact of financial policy on firm value (FV) and 2) the moderated impact of Pancasila Corporate Governance Disclosure (PCGD) on the relationship between financial policy to FV. The dividend payout ratio (DPR), investment opportunity set (IOS), and debt-to-equity ratio (DER) are all indicators of financial policy. The sample size is 66 companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) over a 10-year period. Moderating Regression Analysis is used in this study. The results revealed that DPR and DER have a significant effect on FV; however, IOS has no such effect. PCGD has the ability to control the relationship between DPR and DER to FV, but not the relationship between IOS and FV
