    Get PDF
This study aims to identify the extent to which the staff believes the factors influencing problem-solving competencies among school administrators and to relate these beliefs to the perceived problem-solving competence of the administrators based on the perceptions among staff. This study designed a survey method that involved 731 teachers and administrators from various schools in the Central and Highlands areas, Ho Chi Minh City and the Southeast and Southwest Regions in Vietnam to accomplish these purposes. Structural equation modeling in the data analysis yields a robust model fit advocated by the socio-psychological theory of belief-behavior linkage. The conclusion is that the internal environment and the efforts made to develop science, technology and international collaborations have a significantly positive relationship in explaining the problem-solving competency of school administrators. However, the existing state of the external environment severely affects the problem-solving ability of school administrators. Improvements must be made to the facilities and equipment of the schools, the working conditions and the financial resources. Theoretical implications include environment-person fit, resource-based advantage, and development psychology which broaden the understanding of problem-solving abilities. School administrators should have a practical framework emphasizing the internal and external environments and procedural and investment-focused qualities

    Get PDF
Thua Thien Hue province is significantly affected by conditions of climate change and sea level rise. Located in central Vietnam, the province experiences various climate-related challenges that have a strong impact on its environment and communities. Furthermore, the complexity of hydrodynamic regimes at main estuaries is reasonably challenge for the development of socio-economic, especially in water transportation. As a large estuary of Thua Thien Hue province, Thuan An play a special role in flood drainage and waterway navigation of Huong River. Therefore, understanding the hydrodynamic regime of Thuan An estuary is crucial due to the continuous alterations in its morphology during monsoon seasons. Sedimentation within the estuary creates obstacles for the river mouth entering channel, while erosion affects the northern and southern coasts. These changes have direct implications for flood drainage and waterway navigation. To gain insights into the hydrodynamic regime, this study focuses on further interpretation the hydrodynamic regimes in Thuan An inlet using Delft3D model combined with ArcGIS tools. By combining scientific modeling and practical implications, this study contributes to a better understanding the hydrodynamics of Thuan An estuary, ultimately facilitating sustainable development and management of this vital waterway system. Importantly, proposed structure for flood drainage and navigation stability in Thuan An estuary is considered with the elongation of 2 jetties. The proposed measure shows that the flood drainage is insignificantly affected and the water level at mostly locations in the river is not changed

    Get PDF
This study aims to examine the level of pro-environmental behaviour based on demographic profile and the interrelationship between environmental connectedness and pro-environmental behaviour via the mediating role of environmental knowledge. The quantitative and convenience sampling collected data from the Malaysian public. The collected data were analysed using the descriptive statistics and structural equation modelling (SEM) method. The findings show that there is a significant degree of pro-environmental conduct. Interestingly, though, there is very little variation in pro-environmental activity by age, gender, or educational attainment. Subsequently, the SEM findings demonstrated that environmental connectivity strongly impacted pro-environmental conduct. Additionally, environmental knowledge considerably and partially mediated the association between environmental connectedness and pro-environmental behaviour. This paper suggests that values and behavioural norms influence individual pro-environmental behaviour. This study suggests that people’s backgrounds, such as family upbringing, parenting lessons and school syllabuses, are crucial in shaping the young generation and the adults towards pro-environmental behaviour. Therefore, the government and local authorities can encourage parents and peers to nurture their children’s environmental values and perceived behaviour for better environmental sustainability. The value of the study shows that individuals’ values, behaviour and attitudes towards the environment can be inculcated at home and need continuous practice anywhere

    Get PDF
The objective of this study is to develop e-modules for bump pass learning for seventh-grade students. This study identified the problems and needs of students in learning bump pass skills, e-module eligibility and the effect of the e-module on students' bump pass skills. Two groups of seventh grades, two teachers serving as content experts and two media experts participated in this study at State Junior High School 1 Talawi.  Five steps were used in conducting this research: analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation. The researchers collected data through questionnaires, interviews, observation, documentation, expert testing and tests. The questionnaire, interview, observation and documentation results were analyzed using an interactive data analysis model. Expert test data were analyzed using the inter-rater agreement model and test result data were analyzed using an independent t-test. There are three findings in this research. First, the reason for the students' difficulties in learning bump passes is their lack of interest in the content found in their textbooks. They need learning media that are interesting and can be accessed through smartphones. Thus, e-modules are a suitable learning medium to solve problems and meet their needs. Second, the developed e-module was confirmed to have high content validity and meet the criteria for good learning materials and media based on the feasibility test results.  Third, the e-module has positively and significantly affected students' understanding and bump pass skills. Thus, it is suggested that the module be used for teaching bump pass skills at other schools

    Get PDF
This quantitative survey using a structured questionnaire with closed questions  and a sample of 340 participants from 20 courses (bachelor's and master's degrees) at public higher education institutions in the Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro region  of  the Portuguese university (University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro) and polytechnic (Polytechnic Institute of Bragança) subsystem  aims to list a group of proposals for reflection and future implementation that can fill or mitigate gaps and weaknesses identified in the disciplines of the curricula related to internships.  The analysis of the data reveals indicators indicating the need for a (formal and conceptual) rethinking of inclusive intervention in the context of supervision in the field of teacher training. These indicators include problems with operating in a multifaceted educational setting, enhancing an interdisciplinary, integrated and inclusive approach, rearranging curriculum and reconsidering the functional profiles and competencies of teaching staff. Therefore, the construction of a professional culture that favors an integrative and inclusive approach through the assumption of a broad profile of professional competence capable of training the teacher in a multidimensional educational context is crucial.  We evaluate the necessity of encouraging research of this type involving additional factors, populations and samples in order to enable the extrapolation of data and findings to a national level providing significance and technological foundations for decisions made within the context of public education policy
