    The aim of this research was to reveal the influence of Think Pair Share cooperative learning model and initial ability on affective competence biology class VIII of SMPN 38 Sijunjung. This was a Quasi Experimental research which used 2 x 2 factorial design. The population of the research was the students in class VIII os SMPN 38 Sijunjung in academic year 2015/2016. By using saturated sampling technique, class VIII1 was chosen as the experimental class and class VIII2 was as the control class. Instrument used in this research is observation sheet filled by observer to see student affective competence. The results of the research revealed that Think Pair Share cooperative learning model exerted an influence upon affective competence of the students having either high or low initial ability

This research uses 3 of 4 stages 4D models that is define, design and develop. The developed product will be validated by 3 validators including 2 lecturers of biology and 1 biology teacher of SMAN 4 Padang, while for practicality will be done by 32 students of SMAN 4 Padang. The data of this study include the primary data obtained from the questionnaire filled directly by the subject of research. Based on the results of the study obtained the validity of 91.30% with very valid criteria, practicality by teachers 86.68% practical criteria and practicality by students 88.56% with practical criteria

    Based on the observation done by the writer in Don Bosco senior high school on the odd and even semesters during 2011 concluded that teachers, in general, do not use the biology learning at the class completely. The module of biology is only available in the odd semester but not in the even semester. The process of learning that takes place during the time in school just using the textbook or handouts made by teachers in the study. Meanwhile, the textbook is available at the school are less varied. During this time the students are taught using textbooks that contain the material at length content and tend to use convoluted sentences. Moreover, the picture presented is also less communicative and sometimes has no relation with the text, so students are difficult to understand the material presented. The purpose of this study is to produce a biology module that is completed by student worksheet and oriented to the problem based learning (PBL) are valid, practical and effective on environmental pollution topics. This research is categorized as research and development. The model and procedure of this research apply 4-D (four-D models) that consists of define, design, develop, and disseminate stage. The results of this research show that the biology module that is completed by student worksheet and oriented to the problem based learning (PBL) is effective, it can be seen from the activity, motivation and students’ learning outcomes. It is concluded that the biology module which is completed with student’s worksheet and oriented to the problem based learning (PBL) on the matter pollution is stated very valid, practical and effective

    Factors influencing the success of a learning can come from both internal and external. Learners tend to have concerns in implementing learning to achieve good learning outcomes, so learners want to increase learning outside the school. Today, there are a lot of learning counseling institutions that are developing in various regions in Indonesia. This leads to a lot of interest of learners to follow the guidance of learning outside school. The purpose of this study is to see the contribution of tutoring outside school to the learning outcomes of learners who follow the guidance of learning outside the school on the subjects of biology class XI Science SMAN 7 Padang. The population of this research is all students of class XI IPA SMAN 7 Padang. Research samples are learners who follow and learners who do not follow the guidance of biological learning outside the school. The sampling technique used saturation sampling technique. The data analysis technique used is the median test, because one of the data is not normally distributed and the two groups are homogeneous. The average learning outcomes of learners that is 86.91, not too significant difference with those who do not follow the guidance of learning outside the school with an average of 84.88. The result of data analysis shows that there is no contribution of learning guidance to learners' learning outcomes which follow the guidance of study outside school with comparison of X2 count 0,270 and X2 table 3,84, so X2 count <X2 table. Thus, it can be concluded that the guidance of learning outside the school does not contribute to the learning outcomes of learners on the subjects of biology class XI IPA SMAN 7 Padang

    Science is an important field of study to support science and technology. Many efforts have been made to improve the quality of education such as curriculum change, teacher competency improvement to stimulate student activities and the provision of learning resources. One that can be implemented to improve the quality of education through increased student activity is to multiply the source of learning such as LKS. This study aims to determine the increase in student learning activities using student activity sheets on IX-2 class IX-2 SMPN 32 Padang. Research includes classroom action research. From the data analysis, it can be concluded that there is an increase of student activity on the subject of Science class VII SMPN 32 Padang using Student Activity Sheet

    Biology Learning at SMP N 1 Pulokulon obtained information that the learning process that occurs less involving students. The final test of the first semester for the science subjects was 35.5% of the students got the score ≥ 50, the students' learning completeness for the Biology subject in the school was 65% of students got ≥ 50. The effort to solve the problem was by applying inquiry discussion. This method is combined with PowerPoint media that can display images concretely. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of inquiry discussion assisted application of PowerPoint media in the learning of organizational life on students in SMP N 1 Pulokulon. The type of data consists of: (1) affective and psychomotoric students, obtained by using activity observation sheet and student performance during the learning progress, (2) cognitive students, obtained by multiple choice test given at the beginning and end of learning. Achievement mastery of affective and psychomotor learning result that is ≥ 85% student reach good and very good criterion. Analysis of cognitive data of students using variance analysis, if the F test is significantly different then continued the test of the BNT. The BNT test result in the post test shows that the experimental class is significantly different from the comparison class. Thus it can be concluded that the inquiry discussion with PowerPoint media effectively applied to the material organization of life in students in class VII SMP N 1 Pulokulon

    Curriculum 2013 is the development of curriculum KTSP. In this curriculum there were four competencies (KI) are KI-1 (religious attitudes), KI-2 (social attitudes), KI-3 (knowledge) and KI-4 (skill). KI-1 and KI-2 integrated in the KI-3 and KI-4. One of Learning approach in Curriculum 2013 is Scientific Approach with do activities like observing, questioning, experiment/ trying/exploration, processing and communicate information. The aim of the study is to observe Scientific Approach in the RPP and its appropriateness in learning. This is a descriptive study by using purposive sampling technique. The data obtained through the study of the documentation, observation, and interviews. The sample of the study is a Cluster III’s Senior High School that piloting by Curriculum 2013 at Bandung. The results of the study showed in generally, the content of Scientific Approach in the RPP is 69,17% and its  appropriateness is 57,84%. This means that scientific approach in Biology learning has not been done well

    The purpose of this research is to develop interactive multimedia using macromedia flash equipped with drill method about human digestive system material for high students senior high school class XI of valid and practical. This research uses Plomp development model that is initial investigation stage, development stage or prototype making and assessment phase. Research data were analyzed by qualitative and quantitative analysis. The data collection instrument uses self evaluation questionnaire, validity questionnaire, one to one evaluation questionnaire, small group evaluation questionnaire, field test questionnaire and questionnaire of practice. The developed product is validated by 2 lecturers of biology and 1 biology teacher of SMAN 1 Bukit Sundi Kabupaten Solok, while for practicality done by 21 students of SMAN 1 Bukit Sundi. Based on the research results obtained validity value 94.33 with criteria very valid, practicality by teacher 93,76 with criteria very practical and practicality of student 93,02 with criterion very practical

    Development of Experimental Student Worksheets Based on Scientific Approach for Student Grade XI Semester 1

    LKPD Experiment based on Scientific Approach can guide students in developing a concept from the materials they have learned in lab work activity. Based on the matter, a study had done which aimed to produce LKPD experiment using Scientific Approach Based for the students grade XI at SMA/MA it was valid and practical.This study was an elaborated study which had three stages in conducting the research. There was known as 4D model which were define, design, develop. The data were collected by using validity questionnaire and practicality. The subject of this study were 2 biology lecturers, and 2 biology teachersas the validators, 2 biology teachers and 25 students grade XI Science at SMAN 1 Batusangkar, as the practicalitator. The data of this study was primary data which was validity and practical data. The result of this study showed that the LKPDexperiment based on scientific approach for the students grade XI 1st Semester SMA/MA was really valid and really practical
