The Influence of Problem Solving Model Toward Students’ Critical Thinking Skills
The aims of this study was to find whether there was an influence of the Problem Solving Model towards critical thinking skills of students of grade XI in SMAN 9 Padang. A Quasi Experiment method with The Post-test Control Group Only Design was used in this study. Students were grouped in an experimental group (Problem Solving model) and a control group (Direct intruction). The data from a test were analyzed using t-test with a=0,05. The findings showed that there was a significant difference of critical thinking skills enhancement in experimental group than the control group
Development of Students Worksheet Nuanced of Emotional Spiritual Quotient about Cell, Organ, Tissue and Organism for Seventh Grade Students of SMP/MTs
Education is a conscious effort to improve the quality of learners both from aspects of science, attitude, and skills. During this school education focuses on the development of intellectual intelligence (IQ), which absorbs as much science but not yet touched on emotional intelligence (EQ) and spiritual (SQ). These three potentials should have been integrated in biology learning. Based on the results of research that has been done, the product results are LKPD nuanced ESQ on the cell material for students of grade VII SMP / MTs. Result of validity test with value of 81,37% by validator fulfill valid criterion, Result of validity in terms of feasibility of content, language, presentation and graphics. Practical test result with 92,53% value by teacher with very practical criteria from ease of use, time efficiency and forgiveness, while the result of practical test by student with 82,65% practical criterion from convenience, and benefit
The Validity and Reliability of The Instrument Assessment of Higher Order Thinking Skill on The Biological Scope Materials
High Order Thinking Skill (HOTS) requires students to connect, analyze, and also transform
their knowledges and experiences. To determine students' high-level thinking skills, we can
use assessment instruments. A good instrument should be valid and reliable so it is feasible
to measure and assess what it wants to be measured and assessed. Therefore it is necessary
to know the level of validity and reliability of the higher order thinking assessment
instruments. The instrument used in this study in the scope of biology material. This type of
research is descriptive research. The subjects of this study were students of grade X MIPA 5
SMA 5 Padang. Based on the results of data analysis, the assessment instrument of high
order thinking skill on biological scope material is logically valid, empirical valid and
reliable
Analyzed Quality of Senior High School Biology Olympiad Questions at West Sumatera, Riau, Jambi, and Bengkulu in 2018
The aim of this study to determine the quality of items in terms of analysis : 1) the validity of
content and empirical, 2) reliability, 3) level of difficulty, 4) distinguishing features, and 5)
the function of detractors. This research is a descriptive study. The sample was a set of
biology olimpic question for senior high school year 2018/209 in West Sumatera, Riau,
Jambi, and Bengkulu. Quantitative analysis was performed by using Anates, while for the
qualitative analysis carried out by the study table. Based on the results of data analysis, the
result for the review of aspects : 1) the validity of the content 52.5% are invalid matter, 2)
reliability, the test has a value of 0.6 belong to the category enough, 3) the level of difficulty,
1,6% classified as very easy matter, 1,6% easy, 36.6% about the medium, 41,6% about the
difficult, and 18.3% about the very difficult, 4) different power, 65% of matter which is
classified as very bad, 28.5% about the relatively ugly, 6.6% about enough, and 0% items
good, 5) function options, for options that are not qualified humbug is 36.6% and the quality
is 63,3%. It can be concluded that the end of the senior high school biology
olympiadquestions at West Sumatera, Riau, Jambi, and Bengkulu in 2018 through the 4.0
version of Anates program not meet both criteria
Development of a Module with Comprehensive Intelligence about Fungi Material for Class X SMA/MA
Quality of education can be realized with the procurement of instructional materials in the form of module in accordance with demands of the curiculum 2013. Module in accordance with the curiculum 2013 containing values of spiritual intelligence, social and emational intelligence, intelctual intelligence and skilfulness intelligence. These four intelligence are known as comprehensive intelligence, but the module wich is contains a comprehensive intelligence valid and practical. This research is design development study that uses a PLOMP method, wich is consisting of three phases: preliminary research, development or prototyping phase, and assesment phase. The research was conducted in SMAN 4 padang with the subject of the research of the students of grade X MIA 1 and grade X MIA 5 SMAN 4 Padang and the object in this research is a module prodct containing comprehensive intelligence about the function material for class X SMA/MA. The data is primary data namely the data obtain directly through questionnaire validity and practicality on the subject of research. From the result of this research, found that the module has a comprehensive intelligence on valid and practical materials, the resulting module is very practical by teachers and learners in terms of language criticism, learning efficiencies and benefits
Effect of Make a Match Learning Model Towards Learning Result of Students Cross Interest about Human Reproduction System Material in Social Science Class Grade XI
Cross-interest is a curricular program that is provided to accommodate the expansion of students' interests, talents, and academic abilities with a mastery orientation of a group of scholarly subjects beyond the choice of interests. Selection of cross-interest subjects at SMAN 1 Pasaman is determined by the school. Based on daily test result on cell materials in class XI IPS, it is known that there are still many students who have not get the minimum completeness criteria. Implementation of make a match learning model is an attempt to overcome the problem. This study aims to determine the effect of applying make-match learning model to the learning outcomes of students cross-interest about reproduction system human material class XI IPS in SMAN 1 Pasaman. This research is a quasi experimental by using Non-Randomized Control Group Posttest Only Design. The population in this study is all students of Class XI IPS in SMAN 1 Pasaman. Samples were taken using Purposive Sampling technique. In this study Class XI IPS 5 as experimental class and class XI IPS 2 as a control class. The instrument used is the final test of multiple choice questions as much as 20 items. The result of t test is known that t-value> t-table (3.51> 1.67). Therefore, the hypothesis is stated acceptable. So it can be concluded that the application of make a match learning model gives a positive influence on the learning outcomes of learners cross-interest about reproduction system material in human class XI IPS in SMAN 1 Pasaman
Development of Students Book Based on Metacognition on Immune System Material for Student Class XI SMA/MA
The purpose of this research is to develop and show the validity and practically of students book about immune system material based metacognition for student class XI SMA/MA. Type research is research and development. This research applies 3 steps from 4D model, that the are define, design and develop. The subject of the this research are 4 expert as validator, 2 teachers and 25 student classes XI MA Negeri Kab. Lima Puluh Kota. Data gained is categorized into primary data, as it is collected from validity and practically questionnaire which is directly filled by research subjects. The data was analyzed descriptively. The result of validity 3,65 in criteria very valid, practically by teachers is 3,64 criteria very practice and practically by students is 3,42 in criteria very practice. The Development Of Modules Based On Problem Solving with Mind Map About Blood Circulation System Material for Students Class VIII Junior High School
The implementation of the 2013 Curriculum is to create a creative and innovative person. One of the right approaches is Problem Solving. Circulatory system material is the material that suits the problem solving approach. Less varied teaching materials will make the learning process becomes monotonous so that learners are not interested to learn. Therefore, a research aimed to produce problem-based solving module with mind map of circulatory system material for students of class VIII SMP.This research is a development research using development procedure from Plomp with three stages: initial investigation stage, development stage or prototype, and assessment phase. The object of this research is problem solving module minded mind map, and the subject of research is teachers and learners SMPN 15 Padang.Validity results obtained an average of 86.46% with valid criteria. The results of small group practice test (small group) obtained an average of 100% very practical category. Modular practicality test obtained an average result of 83.33% with practical category, while learners of 79.32% with practical category. It can be concluded that problem solving module with mind map about circulation system material for students of class VIII SMP has been valid and practical
Student’s Science Literacy Skills with Problem Based Learning in Senior High School in Tanjungpinang
The average national exam score of biology subject in high school in Tanjungpinang tends to be the lowest among other subjects. It is assumed that the ability of student science literacy also tends to be weak. The role of teacher is very important to improve student’s science literacy ability. Applying various learning strategies to create meaningful learning processes is one of the teacher's role. The strategy is Problem-based Learning (PBL) model. This research was conducted to determine science literacy ability of high school students in Tanjungpinang using PBL learning strategy. Research was conducted in SMA 4 and SMA 6 in Tanjungpinang. It is a quantitative approach with Quasi Experiment. PBL is free variable and science literacy skills as bound variable. Researcher uses tests, observation sheets and interviews as research instruments. Based on the results of this research can be concluded that implementation of PBL gives significant difference for student’s science literacy in tenth grade in SMA 4 and SMA 6
Identification of Misconception in Basic Material of Evolution Theories at Biology Department Students of Padang State University
Evolution as a subject in lecture is a material that has many concepts, theoretical, and hard to understand. Then it impacts some misconception on students. Misconception is a situation where the concept that students’ get is different from what experts' mean. The purpose of this research is to know the evaluations' concepts that be misconception by biology' students of Padang state University who has been learning evolution subject and to know the percentage of misconception which had been happened. This research is a desriptive study. Subject of this research is the students of biology of Padang state University who has been learning evolution in second semester in academic year 2016/2017. Sample of this research is all subject that still active in college. Variable of this research is students' misconception toward concpets in evolution material. Instrument of this research is multiple choice test that be equipped with criteria of certainty of response index (CRI) have the form of numeral 1, 2 and 3 which be choosed based on level of conviction of the answer. Analysis of the data used quantitative with count percentage of students have misconception that is students who are choosen flase answer ans index 3 in CRI. Based on data analysis indicate students of biology of Padang University did misconception in evolution material after learning evolution subject with high percentage be found in basic material about definition and the scope of evolution is 39.52% and the low percentage of misconception be found in basic material about Darwin's evolution is 15.86%
