Cases Study: Evaluation of Student Readyness in Teaching After Microteaching
Capability to teach is expected to have by Biology Education students after having Microteaching. Case study was conducted to evaluate how teaching performance of students from the start to the end of microteaching. Research samples were 6 students of Biology Education Study at 6th semester. microteaching was done online and offline. Eight skills was firstly conducted online step by step. Each performance was evaluated by other students and written in log book. Evaluation was used to improve each performance. Microteaching was continuedly offline in which students must performe teaching three times, two with supervision dan one independenly. Improvement had given for a better performance supervised for opening to closure of teaching. Results from online and offline training was implemented in independent teaching performance for 30 minutes. Teaching performance was evaluated by 15 students of 2nd semester acting as high school pupils by using questionare. All six students were evaluated having clear and loud voice but lack of ability to motivate their pupils to learn. Most students stayed closely with PPT slides. Students also had difficutly to manage the time so teaching closure and evaluation could not be done
Implementing of Islamic Learning Integrated in Biology Education through Team Teaching Method to Enhance Students’ Understanding of Sex Education
Sex education is needed due to increasing in teenager's sexually deviant behavior increase. The integration of Islamic values in biology learning is teachers' strategy to prevent free sex deviant behavior in the disrupssion digital era. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of the implementation of integrated Islamic biology learning with the team teaching method on students' understanding of sex education at SMA 12 Pekanbaru. The research design was a Quasi-experimental with one shot case study design. Population and sample are students at SMAN 12 Pekanbaru. Collection methods using tests and question-naires. The data analysis technique used is descriptive statistics. The results showed that the average level of understanding of students' sex education in the knowledge domain of students was 73% with a good category and an attitude domain of 79% with a good category. It can be concluded that the implementation of integrated Islamic biology learning with the team teaching method has a positive contribution to students' understanding of sex education. Biology and Islamic education teachers can collaborate in designing sex education learning as an effort to prevent adolescent sexual deviant behavior
Development of Herbarium Book as Biology Instructional Media in Plant Morphology Subject for Biology Education Undergraduate Students, University of Pasir Pangaraian
The development of instructional especially media of a herbarium book is an innovation that aims to assist students in searching directly the object of leaf morphology studies. This development research starts from the needs analysis stage which is used to gather information, planning in media making, media design, media making, after that product validation by a team of media experts and material experts, then testing individual products, small groups and large groups. The subject of this product testing were students of the Biology Education Study Program at Pasir Pengaraian University. The results of the validation by the material experts showed that the quality of learning media using the herbarium book on leaf morphology material was included in the "very feasible" criteria, with an average score of 86.46%. The results of validation by media experts are included in the "very feasible" criteria, with an average score of 88.54%. Individual assessment obtained the criteria of "very feasible", with an average score of 84.16%. Judgement from small groups obtained a percentage of eligibility of 81.45% with very feasible criteria, and judgement from large groups of 83.95% with "very feasible" criteria. The results of the development of herbarium book media are very decent
The Analysis Scientific Attitudes in the Implementation of Science-Biology Learning Practicum for Class VIII Students in SMPN 34 Padang
Scientific attitude is a collection of several important aspects that describe the interaction of each student. This study aims to study the quality of scientific attitudes carried out by students when carrying out practical learning in Natural Sciences-Biology Class VIII SMPN 34 Padang. The aspects of scientific thought discussed include: 1) curiosity, 2) respect for data, 3) critical thinking, 4) discovery and creativity, 5) open thinking and working together, 6) perseverance, and 7) sensitive to Surrounding environment. This type of research is a descriptive study, with a total of 280 students and a sample of 108 students consisting of 9 classes. Sampling using Proportional Cluster Random Sampling technique by taking ± 40% of the total population. Data collection using questionnaires and observation sheets. Data analysis was performed quantitatively with the percentage analysis method. From this study obtained research on scientific quality assessment on every aspect of the aspect curiosity has good criteria, aspects of respect for data that have adequate criteria, critical aspects of thinking have sufficient criteria, aspects of discovery and considerations that have good quality, aspects of open thinking and working together have good criteria, perseverance aspects have good criteria, and aspects that are sensitive to the environment have criteria. So, the quality of scientific thinking of students in the implementation of science-biology learners
The Relationship Level of Critical Thinking Ability and Student Learning Outcomes in Invertebrata Materials
The ability to think critically has a pattern of thinking that can improve learning outcomes, because it can provide new ideas to solve a problem. This study aims to determine the relationship between critical thinking skills and student learning outcomes in invertebrate material. This research was conducted from March to May 2020 in one of the high schools in Tasikmalaya. The research method used is the correlational method with a population of all class X math and science students as many as 6 classes. Samples were taken by using purposive sampling as many as 2 classes namely class X math and science 3 and X math and science 4. Data collection techniques carried out by giving posttest as many as 8 items in the form of description to measure critical thinking skills and 25 items in the form of multiple choice to measure student learning outcomes . The data analysis technique used is correlation regression with α 0.05. The results of the research, data analysis and hypothesis testing show that there is a positive correlation between the ability to think critically with student learning outcomes on invertebrate material. with a yield of 24.2% and fall into the medium category. 
The Effect of Metacognitive based Learning Process on Environmental Pollution Subject towards Students’ Cognitive Competence
This research aims to determine the effect of metacognitive-based biology learning process towardsstudents’ cognitive competenceon environmental Pollution subject of class X SMA Plus Putra Bangsa Tangerang District. The method used in this research was quasi-experimental method. The population was all class X MIA with X MIA 1 of 17 people as the control sample and X MIA 2 of 18 people as the experimental sample. The instrument in this research were a test of students’ cognitive competence, a metacognitive competence questionnaire, and a compliance sheet. Based on the results of the research it can be concluded that there were differences in cognitive competence of students between the experimental class that was treated using a metacognitive basis and the control class that was treated using a conventional basis on environmental Pollution subject. The average score of cognitive competence in the control class was 53.09 which was included in the “sufficient cognitive” category. The result showedthe score of 68.61, which was included in the “goodcognitive” category. In the hypothesis test, it can be concluded that there was an impact of the use of Metacognitive-based learning process on students’ cognitive competence on environmental pollution subject
Effect of Module use with Scientific Approach on Archaebacteria and Eubacteria Material applied in Discovery Learning Model on Student Biology Learning Competence
The learning process of biology at SMAN 1 Batusangkar has used modules but has not used a scientific approach, so that it fully complies with the demands of the 2013 curriculum. While the models used in the learning process are not fully in accordance with the demands of the 2013 curriculum. 2013, the module can be used with a scientific approach in the Discovery learning learning model in the learning process. The aims of this study is to see the effect of the use of modules with a scientific approach to the material of Archaebacteria and Eubacteria in the Discovery learning learning model on biology learning competencies of students of class X MIPA SMAN 1 Batusangkar on Archaebacteria and Eubacteria. This research is an experimental study with the research design of The Static Group Comparison Design.
The results showed that the use of modules with a scientific approach to the material of Archaebacteria and Eubacteria in the Discovery learning learning model did not have a positive effect on the competency of biological knowledge and had a positive effect on the competency of attitudes and biology skills of students
Validity of Interactive Multimedia Equipped with Educational Games in Archaebacteria and Eubacteria Materials for Students Class X
Based on result of observation and interview, many students were not interested in following biology learning because the learning media is less varied. Interactive multimedia equipped with educational games expected to facilitate students in biology learning. This is a research and development that aims to produce a valid product. This study uses three stages of the 4-D model. The data collection of interactive multimedia validity was carried out by two biology lecturers and one biology teacher at SMA Negeri 8 Padang and the data were analyzed using descriptive statistical analysis. Based on the results of interactive multimedia was completed by educational games analysis obtained the value of validity is 78,90% with valid category. It can be concluded that interactive multimedia was completed by educational games is valid and can be used in biology learning
Validity of the Human Respiratory System Booklets as Learning Suplement for Student Class VIII Junior High School
The education system in curriculum 2013 is emphasizing the active participation of students in learning by making students as subjects of learning. The application of the role of students as learning subjects can be maximized by the use of instructional media. Learning media commonly used in schools are students' books and student worksheets. The analysis that has been carried out reveals that the student book and the Student Worksheet have a weakness that is the appearance that does not attract students' interest and is not accompanied by relevant illustrations. This weakness was later made a reference to develop a respiratory system booklet in humans as a supplement to natural science learning for students of grade VIII junior high school. This research is a research development using the Plomp method. The research phase consisted of the preliminary research, development and prototypingt phase, and assessment phase. Data analysis uses quantitative and qualitative analysis. The booklet is validated by two validators. The booklet assessment stage is done by evaluating one using three students with different academic abilities. The results are obtaining booklets with a validation value of 89.56%. This study uses a self-evaluation questionnaire, expert reviews, and one-on-one evaluation. The conclusion obtained is that the booklet has very valid criteria and is very suitable for use as a learning supplement
The Profile of Students’ Questions Based on Revised Bloom’s Taxonomy on Life Organizations System Topic
The aim of this study to determine student questions based on Revised Bloom's Taxonomy. This study was done by quantitative approach with descriptive research method. Research data were obtained through analysis of student questions sheets and interviews. Guide the student’s question were analysid sheet was used to record student questions while learning in class. Based on the results of the analysis it is known that 20% of students' questions at the cognitive domain level C1 (Remembering), 37% at the C2 level (Understanding), 20% at the C3 level (Applying), 11,5% at the C4 level (Analyzing), 11,5% at the C5 level (Evaluating), and 0% at the C6 level (Creating). While based on the dimension of knowledge, factual level questions were asked by 26% of students, conceptual level questions by 74%, and there was no question in procedural and metacognitive level
