    Get PDF
This study aims to reveal the evolution of the EU-Japan relations towards a comprehensive and fully formalized strategic partnership, the main determinants of that process, as well the importance of the political and economic alliance. In the evolution of the EU-Japan relations, there were identified four stages – 1960–1990, 1991–2000, 2001–2010, 2011–2018 – which had led up to a strategic partnership regulated under the framework of political and economic agreements. In future, the Strategic Partnership Agreement and the Economic Partnership Agreement might enhance the regional and global influence of the EU and Japan.KEYWORDS: European Union, Japan, Strategic Partnership Agreement, Economic Partnership Agreement.JEL CODES: F50, F59.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.15181/rfds.v25i2.174

Long shafts, known by various sources in Sambia, were not attracting the attention of archaeologists. According to their location, the shafts are divided into: shafts near the extremities of the peninsula, known from archaeological exploration, and shafts in the depth of the land, known only from written sources. It is possible that the shafts were performed not so much by the military as by cult and administrative functions, limiting the extraterritorial nature of the canals and protecting the foreign boats roaming through them from the Prussian tribal territory, the laws of which the merchant-mariners did not obey.KEY WORDS: shaft, Sambia, shaft function, Prussians.doi: http://dx.doi.org/10.15181/rh.v23i0.178

In this paper, we are analyzing the results of native Lithuanian speaker recognition and identification using long short-term memory deep neural network. We look at recognition accuracy and identify further potential improvements. Dataset used for training and speaker recognition consists of over 370 unique speakers, who provide their voice utterances in Lithuanian language. In this paper we present results that are derived from part of this dataset.DOI: 10.15181/csat.v6i1.157

CIVILINIO PROCESO VIENODINIMAS IR IŠŠŪKIAI EUROPOS SĄJUNGOJE

Europos Sąjungos civilinio proceso teisė, nors turėjo galimybių vystytis nuo pat Europos Ekonominės Bendrijos sukūrimo, savo plėtros pagreitį įgavo Europos Sąjungai suteikus kompetenciją civilinio proceso klausimus reglamentuoti antriniais ES teisės aktais. Nors šioje srityje priimta nemažai instrumentų, vis dėlto dėl riboto jų taikymo (tik tarpvalstybinėms situacijoms) jie pasitelkiami retai, taigi neužtikrina visų ES piliečių teisių apsaugos. Susiklosčiusi situacija, kai tą patį klausimą reglamentuoja tiek nacionalinė, tiek ES teisė, taip pat neleidžia visų teisingumui vykdyti skirtų išteklių panaudoti tinkamai ir veiksmingai. Atlikus tyrimą siūloma plėsti taikomo ES reglamentavimo civiliniame procese sritį ir taikyti bendras taisykles sprendžiant tiek nacionalinius, tiek tarptautinius ginčus.PAGRINDINIAI ŽODŽIAI: Europos Sąjunga, civilinis procesas, tarpvalstybinės bylos.JEL KLASIFIKACIJA: K15, K40, K41.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.15181/rfds.v25i2.174

Collecting folk music and ethnographic materials for a long time in one locality forms a collection of records and the analytical database. This allows you to make a comparison and reveal the dynamics of the change in the people’s traditions, identify the factors that affect it. For ethnomusicologists, there is rarely a happy opportunity to compare modern folk music records (late 20th – early 21st centuries) with materials from the late 19th – early 20th centuries (at that time the foundations of traditional life were still preserved). One of such opportunities is provided by records in the village Romanovka in the Popelnya district of the Zhytomyr region (north-eastern edge of the Podillia). In this village folk customs, rituals and songs began to fix approximately the 1870s. The article covers the song genres of the calendar cycle: carols («kolyadki»), «schedrovki», spring games and round dances («khorovody»), «petrovki» and reaping («zhnyvni») tunes. Records of the beginning of the XXI century with musical notations are published for the first time.KEY WORDS: calendar-ritual songs, «kolyadkа» (caroling), schedrovkа (New Year’ s songs), spring song («vesnyanka»), spring roundelays («khorovody»), «petrovki», «zhnyvnа», local tradition, Zhytomyr region, north-eastern Podillia.doi:http://dx.doi.org/10.15181/rh.v23i0.179

Sustainability marketing communications based on consumer values and principles

    Get PDF
Consumers are willing to buy more from companies that share their values and principles. Increasingly and rapidly consumer values are shifting towards sustainable development. This rapid shift in values has created the need for marketing communications to become anchored in appropriate sustainable marketing principles. So, it follows that appropriate sustainability marketing creates higher and longer value-based relationships with consumers. The article analyses consumer values and principles related to sustainability and its linkage with integrated marketing communications. Even though the marketing of sustainability is a heavily covered topic by scholars, it is still perceived as an alternative or “niche” solution for certain consumer segments. Considering this information, the aim of this article is to uncover the mainstream consumer values and principles and identify how they are reflected in the mainstream brands’ marketing communications. The study is based on the analysis of general and special literature, scientific papers and periodicals published by Lithuanian and foreign scholars. The retail food sector was chosen for the study due to its significant contribution to the economy. Content analysis of the sector’s integrated marketing communications was conducted. Yet the analysis of food retailers operating in Lithuania shows that consumer values and principles are only partially reflected. The biggest gap is that no brand appears to position itself as a market leader in sustainability or focuses on sustainability development within the organization. This gap shows opportunities as well as lack of commitment from the industry.KEYWORDS: consumer values, integrated marketing communications, sustainability marketing, sustainable development.JEL CODE: D90.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.15181/rfds.v26i3.180
