Get PDFIn this article are presented images of Norway-Sweden depicted in internet memes collected on social network Facebook. For this research are collected 149 memes in total. The material is publicated from 2017 january until 2018 april in Facebook and collected from January 2018 until april 2018. This research helps to understand the specific of relations between neighbor countries, also depicts the view of society itself and neighbor country, different and identical assessments to current issues and the events of historical periods. Based on field studies, co-workers’ gathered on the occasion of the holidays, the organization’s place, both internal organization itself and its surrounding external – local, national culture, the influence on their manifestation. Two traditional and two modern holidays are being analysed, where the habits of celebrations, formal and informal channels are compared between the city and its environs co-workers’. Get PDFThe article discusses the results of value-based communication analysis in the electoral programs of winning parties in Republic of Lithuania Seimas’2016 year election (LVŽS, LSDP, TS-LKD, LRLS, TT, LLRA-KŠS). With the application of three criteria of programs’ analysis – the volume of thematic parts, semantic segments, and ideological values – these questions were addressed: the connection and differences between winner parties’ attitudes towards values; whether traditional parties have preserved ideological identity; what coalitions after the election in the Seimas were possible based on values. The research data revealed that communication of values relevant to society in all analyzed programs is very similar, and, through cluster analysis, the connections between ideological values’ communication were established foremost between traditional parties (first cluster). The second cluster consists of less related programs of other parties. Almost identical results were established when analysing this aspect based on programs’ structural parts. Get PDFThe importance of constant improvement of teachers and andragogue organiser’s professionalism is revealed, advantages and issues of the link between teachers’ qualification development and andragogue organiser’s activity is highlighted to analyse and justify the andragogue organiser’s role in the sphere of teachers’ qualification development. The first part of the article discusses the conception of teachers’ qualification development based on the aspects of professionalism, reveals diversity of andragogue organiser’s activities and multi-functionality in the sphere of teachers’ qualification development. The second part of the article analyses educational documents that regulate teachers’ development activity and andragogues’ professional activity, reviews the state of teachers’ qualification development, carried out research and recognition of andragogue’s professional activity in Lithuania. Get PDFThe article analyses issues related to the participation of national minorities in the EstonianWar of Independence of 1918–1920. Due to the low numbers of national minorities, they werenot treated as a serious problem in the Republic of Estonia during the war, but the questionof their involvement was important in the principle of the strategy of active defence. Thisarticle is based on a doctoral thesis that was defended at Tallinn University in June 2018. Theinvolvement of national minorities in the national units of the Estonian national army in theEstonian War of Independence is investigated from a cultural studies approach. Get PDFOn 13 August 1949, in Užpelkiai Forest in northern Lithuania, on the border of the Grinkiškis and Baisogalarural districts in Radviliškis County, a battle by Lithuanian partisans that had a significant impact on thehistory of the Prisikėlimas (Resurrection) district took place. The leaders of the Lietuvos Laisvės KovosSąjūdis (Movement for the Struggle for Lithuania’s Freedom) operated in this district. Based on the approachof modern conflict archaeology, the authors of the article, helped by volunteers, determined thelocation of the Battle of Užpelkiai Forest (in the Grinkiškis rural district, Radviliškis County), and collecteda lot of new archaeological and historical data, in order to reconstruct the progress of the attack by MG B(Ministry of State Security) troops and the partisan defence. By referring to complex research results, thearticle gives the surnames and duties in the organisation of all the partisans who participated, as well asthe circumstances and progress of the battle. It shows the importance of the Battle of Užpelkiai Forestto the Lietuvos Laisvės Kovos Sąjūdis in 1949–1950. The case study of field research into the battle in theguerilla war shows how complex historical and archaeological research complements the picture of theguerilla war with facts and artefacts, clarifies or denies old interpretations, and leads us to new ones.Key words: Lithuanian partisan war, Movement for the Struggle for Lithuania’s Freedom, Battle of Užpelkiai Forest, modern conflict archaeology, complex research
ŠIAURĖS ŽEMAIČIŲ SOMATONIMAI: GALVOS SRITIES PAVADINIMŲ NOMINACIJA
Get PDFAccording to the semasiological aspect the names of Head Domain used by North Samogitians comprise a numerous subgroup of the thematic group of somatonyms, as on the basis of written resources and live spoken samples approximately 300 invariant lexemes of the mentioned semantics have been identified. The onomasiological research of the North Samogitian Head Domain thematic subgroup somatonyms, considering them as the results of the nomination process, i. e. the so called nominathemes, allowed us to establish a diversity of the characteristic nomination types, kinds, modes, and means, alongside with the distinguished dominant elements. Within the nomination system of the researched somatonyms the most productive two motivated nomination kinds have been identified, such as: affixational and semantic. The Soviet Army in Northern Lithuania between January and June 1919
Get PDFIn January 1919, the Army of Soviet Latvia (ASL) emerged out of Red Army units fighting onfuture Latvian territory. Until its dissolution in early June 1919, units of the ASL participated ina war that covered areas claimed by both the Latvian and Lithuanian governments. The articleaims to reevaluate the campaign in northern Lithuania in the first half of 1919. Until today, thefighting on the left flank of the ASL has been seen as a secondary front, and therefore usuallyoverlooked. The article explores the plans of the ASL, the forces involved, and the actual warfare.Attention is also paid to events behind the front line, and the activities of the Soviet Latvianauthorities in Lithuania.Key words: Red Army, Army of Soviet Latvia, Latvian-Soviet war, Lithuanian-Soviet war
