    TAUTINIO KOSTIUMO AKTUALUMAS LIETUVOS, LATVIJOS, SUOMIJOS IR NORVEGIJOS JAUNIMUI

    This article examines the attitudeof young people of age 18 to 30 from Lithuania, Latvia, Finland and Norway towards the national costume. The aim of this article is to analyze and determine how national costume is appreciated by the youth of countries mentioned before. The article briefly presents the preconditions for the emergence and creation of a nationalcostume; it analyzes what kind of information is lacking about national costume. The research was made in 2017-2018. Information was provided by 156 respondents. In conclusion, the worst situation is is between Finnish youth and the deepest traditions of costume‘s wearing has Norway. The results of Lithuanians reveal that national costume is not very important tradition, Latvians show the growing interest in the costume.KEY WORDS: National costume, youth, Lithuania, Latvia, Finland, Norway, ethnicity

    The article deals with communicative failures of journalists in “YouTube” celebrity video interviews in the Ukrainian and German linguacultures from the point of view of social interaction and the theory of speech genres at all structural levels of the communicative genre construction, establishing common and distinctive features in both linguacultures. The analysis made it possible to conclude that behind a language (speech) failure there is a violation caused by a journalist, a respondent, or an external noise. KEY WORDS: celebrity video interview, communicative failure, Ukrainian, German, interaction, speech genres

Kaunas: Vytauto Didžiojo universitetas, 2018, 179 p.Aurelijos Mykolaitytės monografijoje iškelta ir svarstoma problema reikšminga filologijos mokslui, kultūros istorijai ir lituanistinių tyrimų raidai. Tai fundamentalus, išsamus, įžvalgus mokslo darbas, populiarinantis ir reflektuojantis Kuršių neriją, lietuvių literatūrą, mažai žinomus ir nutylėtus visuomenės bei kultūros istorijos momentus. Knyga aktuali, kadangi Kuršių nerija, jos bendruomenė, tos vietos ženklai per visą Lietuvos istoriją buvo vertinami nevienareikšmiškai dėl kultūrinių, ideologinių, kitokių atskirtumų, specifiškumo. Autorės pasirinktas tyrimo būdas pagrįstas, leidžiantis analizuoti darbo objektą ir diachroniškai, ir sinchroniškai. Pirma, Kuršių nerijos topografiniai ženklai, atminties įrašai literatūroje nagrinėjami nuo seniausių iki naujausių laikų. Antra, aiškinamasi, kaip tam tikru laiku nutikę įvykiai (kuršių išnykimas ir kt.), reflektuojami tekstuose, susijungia ar atgamina kolektyvinę atmintį bei panaikina laikiškumo įspūdį.     In the article the notion of “sustainable development” is analysed gnoseologically, onthologically and axiologically, and the historical meaning of the term is presented. The article is of analytical review type, which is implicating the remarks on theoretical and practical analysis of the phenomena by formulating and implementing the aims of sustainable development. Substantial attention of the readers is drawn to the tasks and aggregated indicators of sustainable development, which encompass the environmental, social and economical aspects, and the significance of sustainable development for mankind’s survival and prosperity is underlined.     IMPROVEMENT OF ORGANIZATIONAL CULTURE: A CASE STUDY OF LITHUANIAN EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTION

    This article provides a synthesis of various scholarly opinions on how to improve organizational culture of the school. The qualitative research methodology was chosen for empirical research. The survey was conducted by interviewing respondents from an educational institution in Lithuania. The semi-structured interview method was applied to the study. The results showed that the factors having influence on the success and effectiveness of organizational culture and its improvement are: strong relationship between parents and the community, a student-centred learning environment, consistent institutional guidance systems, norms, values and working environment practices. In order to improve organizational culture of the educational institution, it is necessary to improve the communication and cooperation system, develop open management that would guide the community members to be responsible for their actions, to create the atmosphere involving all community members in self-learning providing feedback, promote leadership, initiate changes.     THE ISSUE OF MUSIC DIALECTOLOGY IN THE FIRST PUBLICATIONS OF VOLODYMYR HOSHOVSKY

    In the middle of the twentieth century, when European ethnomusicology started developing on the initiative of Bela Bartok, Filaret Kolessa and Stanislaw Lyudkevich, began to develop a methodology for the study of music dialects, the young Ukrainian scientist Volodymyr Hoshovsky joined the process. He went his own way. His innovative approach was to combine the work of related sciences: lingual geography and ethnomusicology. Ukrainian ethnomusicologist Vira Madyar-Novak examines the first publications of V.     Zeugnisse der Epoche der Konfessionalisierung in Kunstwerken Livlands

    How were the Reformation and a variety of different confessionalisations manifested in materialculture? The article discusses this issue by presenting a dozen examples of works of artrelating to the present territory of Latvia. In 1521, when urban citizens there responded tothe ideas of the Reformation for the first time, a large part of present-day Latvia belonged toa conglomerate of various holdings called the Livonian Confederation. The religious polarisationof society characteristic of the early period of the Reformation (the 1520s) is representedin works of art discussed in the first chapter. The second chapter discusses works from theperiod of political instability caused by the First Northern War (1558–1583). It is characterisedby Livonia’s political, cultural and confessional division, of which representations can also beseen in many examples of the visual arts.KEY WORDS: Livonia, Reformation, confessionalisation, visual art

    Analysis and current trends of the insurance market in Latvia

    This paper considers and analyses current trends of the global, European and Latvian insurance markets. Insurance constitutes the most important way to minimize and eliminate economic losses in a company resulting from unfavourable events. Insurance is one of the most efficient methods of enterprise risk management. The entrepreneur must be informed regarding the offered insurance services, the insurance market participants and the insurance market state for the insurance coverage implementation. This information will enable to provide reliable insurance coverage in order to ensure the enterprise’s financial stability. The authors analyse the financial activity index and conduct its comparative analysis, establish general trends and existing differences in the insurance market development in the world, the EU and in Latvia. The paper highlights the insurance market structure and differences in the scope of the life insurance sector existing in the EU and in Latvia. Moreover, description of insurance types, participants of the insurance market in Latvia and the insurance market’s state are also provided.     Ancient Roman fortress Sostra as a cultural and historical tourist resource

    The paper is part of a research series for ancient Roman sites in Northern Bulgaria which aim to present the possibilities of creating a specialized form of cultural and historical product that ensures sustainable utilization of the Bulgarian tangible heritage. A study of the Roman fortress Sostra, located on the Via Traiani road as a cultural and historical tourist resource was conducted. The castellum is characterized as an object of cultural heritage in the region of Troyan Municipality in Bulgaria. The methodology applied in assessing the potential of the Ancient Roman fortress Sostra is primarily designed for historical and cultural sites. An evaluation was made under the following criteria: potential for development, degree of impact / interaction, degree of modification with relevant indicators. Also an expedition-field method for terrain research was applied.
